The Growth of a Titan -
Chapter 319- Haneul’s Master
Chapter 319: Chapter 319- Haneul’s Master
The Shaolin Sect had a really small territory. The number of disciples they had only numbered around fifteen to twenty thousand as well.
Compared to the other Holy Sects that have over a hundred thousand disciples in their Main Branch and a few tens of thousands in their side branches, the Shaolin Sect indeed seemed small. As for their side branches, they had none.
The reason for the low number of disciples in the Shaolin Sect was because of the sacrifices one would need to make after joining.
They would need to abstain from worldly desires, which included alcohol, wealth, and sex.
Not many people would want to forsake those things even if that meant joining the most powerful force on the Eastern Continent and learning some of the most well-known Martial Arts Techniques.
Most of these hotblooded youths were also unwilling to join because even if they learned those powerful Martial Arts from the Shaolin Sect, there were many restrictions to using them.
For example, they couldn’t kill, and additionally, since they were a neutral power, it was forbidden to fight other disciples from the various powers on the Continent unless they were forced to do so.
They had an image to uphold.
It was due to this mindset that these monks and nuns mostly stayed in the Shaolin Sect.
Within the Academy, you would hardly see a bald monk or a nun walking around. They did have a presence in the Academy, which was the Enlightenment Pavilion, but they seldom left their mountain, and other disciples never had a need to visit.
There were some cases of disciples entering the Academy and then graduating without ever coming into contact with a disciple of the Shaolin Sect.
However, with all of this said, there was one disciple of the Shaolin Sect who ignored all of these principles.
He was both an embarrassment and pride for the disciples of the Shaolin Sect, so their feelings towards this Eldest Brother of theirs were always complicated.
The Shaolin Sect had three main mountains for their Outer Disciples, Inner Disciples, and Core Disciples.
On the mountain for the Core Disciples, the monastery layout was simple and was much like the other mountains.
There was a section for males and females, while disciples were roomed in pairs of four. Only disciples of Elders had a room of their own. However, everyone’s rooms were built next to each other with a large clearing at the center.
These rooms unexpectedly weren’t built from stone but were built like traditional homes with a single room and thin sliding paper doors to enter.
This was the Shaolin Sect’s attempt to be more ’modern.’ Though the temples the disciples’ visits for morning and evening prayer were built from stone.
Currently, it was in the middle of the night and the disciples were busy spending their free time before bed either chatting while sitting in the large clearing, or they were in their rooms doing a quick read of their scriptures.
In the living quarters for the boys, a male disciple who looked around fifteen or sixteen and a female disciple around eighteen or nineteen, had the clearing to their left as they walked past the various rooms that were to their right.
The Shaolin Sect didn’t restrict female disciples and male disciples from interacting, but one could see a respectful distance between these two as they walked and chatted.
"Senior Sister, I don’t understand the second line of the third scripture Elder Nan was-"
"Umph..."
"Ahh!"
The younger boy was trying to ask for advice from the older girl, but he was suddenly interrupted by the moans of a woman and the grunts of a man that were coming from the room they were walking past.
Both of their expressions changed as they instinctively looked at each other. They could see the embarrassment and helplessness in each other’s eyes.
The two didn’t pause their steps as they hurried past this room.
Four youths were walking towards them, but the young boy hurriedly waved his hands for them to stop.
These four youths stopped talking and stopped in their tracks.
When the young boy and the girl came up to these four, the young boy said in a lowered voice.
"Eldest Brother is... uhm, cultivating. So it’s best of you four to avoid walking this way for tonight."
When the four youths heard that their expressions changed.
"How can Eldest Brother do something like that here? Doesn’t he have a secluded courtyard on the other side of the mountain?"
One of the four youths said in anger, and another one sighed and said.
"Is this the first time? It’s like he wants us to know he’s breaking the Sect’s rules."
Another one of the boys looked towards the girl and said.
"Senior Sister, I apologize on behalf of Eldest Brother."
"That’s right Senior Sister, we’re sorry you had to happen upon such shameful behavior on your visit to our living quarters."
All the youths apologized to the girl.
In response, the girl shook her head and said with a sigh.
"Who doesn’t know of our Eldest Brother’s actions in Sect? I just wish Sect Leader would do something."
Everyone nodded solemnly before hurriedly distancing themselves from this place.
Soon the word spread, and disciples started avoiding this place like the plague.
Of course, if this was in the past, there would have been an outrage for what Hanuel was doing, but this had happened so many times the disciples had almost become numb to it. Which was unfortunate.
But thankfully, not many people outside of the Shaolin Sect knew about the things Haneul was doing in the Sect.
The disciples kept it to themselves for fear that word might spread in Jianghu and ruin the reputation of their Shaolin Sect.
Now they were stuck between a rock and a hard place, wanting Haneul to change his ways but also putting up with his actions in fear of it getting out. They even went as far as covering everything up. Which might just be them enabling him at this point.
However, what can they do except to complain?
Even the Elders and Sect Leaders can’t get him to stop. Any punishment they give him he would just go right back to his old ways after behaving for a few days.
This past half a year was the longest it had gone without news of his actions spreading in the Sect, but since he left seclusion that had changed.
Meanwhile, the news of Haneul sneaking a woman into his room was spreading throughout the Sect, said person was busy vigorously thrusting his hips back and forth, threatening to overwhelm the squirming girl beneath him.
With one final thrust, Haneul released a low grunt.
At the same time, two energies, one golden and one pink, mix where Haneul and the girl are connected.
After these two energies mixed there was a synergy between them, after which they went on to split into streams that flowed through the girl and Haneul’s meridians.
The girl’s eyes had a look of glee in them as this energy circulated in her body. However, her eyelids suddenly felt heavy and soon her head fell to the side. She had fallen unconscious.
Haneul, who was holding the girl’s hips, was taken aback by this, but he suddenly smirked.
"Was it so good you fainted? Which one of you girls want to cultivate with this Monk next?"
Haneul said, but suddenly the girl in front of him had her body go slack and she fell on top of the first girl. Similarly, the girl who was holding him from behind fell sideways and landed on the bed unconscious.
Haneul blinked, but soon all the hairs on his body stood on end as he realized what was happening.
As calmly as he could, he turned his head and looked at his doorway.
Haneul’s heart shook and he hurriedly pulled out before jumping up from the bed; sweat and other fluids went flying from his sudden movement.
His hand grabbed a sheet from the bed before he hurriedly wrapped it around his waist. However, that didn’t do much since there was an evident dent in the sheet where his lower region was.
"Ma-Master!"
Haneul nervously yelled in greeting.
At the doorway, an old man had silently appeared.
The appearance of this old man was extremely strange. He was translucent while the edges of his body would disperse and gather at times.
He looked like a disembodied soul that could dissipate at any time.
This bald old man in the form of a disembodied soul held his hands behind his back as he stared at his disciple.
He had no change in expression when he saw the state his disciple was in, however, he shook his head in disappointment before saying.
"When are you going to change?"
"Ma-Master, please don’t misunderstand. These are disciples from the Emei Sect, I only brought them here to stabilize my breakthrough into the Spiritual Realm."
The old man looked offended when he heard that.
"My disciple, do you take me for a fool?"
"N-No Master."
Haneul said as he lowered his head, but he didn’t offer another explanation.
