Chapter 271: Chapter 271- I Wonder What It Is

Sol looked at Mar-Du and he inhaled deeply before he said.

"Senior Mar-Du, I don’t understand why I can’t be with Mar-Yue, so can you make me understand?"

Mar-Du glanced at Sol before he said flatly.

"Will you break up with my daughter after you understand?"

Sol immediately shook his head.

"After I understand then I will do everything in my power to make it so we can be together."

Mar-Du’s expression became serious.

"There is nothing you can do to solve this situation. Not unless you destroy that bloodline you have."

Mar-Du pointed at Sol’s forehead as he said that.

’So, it is about my bloodline.’

Sol thought before he heard Mar-Du continue.

"It’s not a good fit for my Giant Race bloodline. If you were to be with my daughter and bear my grandkids, then it would defile my Giant Race bloodline and ruin any chance of my daughter passing it on. Do you understand now? Mar-Yue is the first person, and likely the only person who is ever going to awaken our Giant Race bloodline fully. But being with you will forever sever our Giant Race bloodline."

After saying that, Mar-Du’s expression softened a bit before he said.

"Sol, I hope you will make the right decision for my Barbarian Race. Time is of the essence; I do not want to lose this hope now that it is right in front of me."

Mar-Du’s figure then disappeared, leaving Sol with a complicated expression on his face.

However, Abdu suddenly opened his eyes and said enraged.

"What an idiot! Did he just claim your bloodline will defile his insignificant Giant Race Bloodline? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in all my years of living. And I am not even exaggerating. He should be on his knees thanking you for choosing his daughter, but here he is chasing you away."

Abdu was so angry he wanted to get up and go find Mar-Du to give him a couple of slaps.

Looking down at Sol he said.

"Brat, I want you to tell that bastard what your bloodline is. I want to see his face when he finds out how dumb he was for saying those words just now."

Sol who had been silent, was taken aback by Abdu’s words. But Abud added.

"Look brat, revealing your secret in this manner will be beneficial for you. Not only would you solve this problem of yours with his refusal to give his daughter to you, but there is a high possibility that you can bring the Giant Race under your banner."

Sol paused and after thinking for a moment he said.

"I’ve never thought about bringing the Barbarian Race under my banner or anything like that. And I think whatever it is, I shouldn’t reveal my secret so easily. Father sealed my bloodline for a reason."

Abdu was about to say something, but Sol cut in.

"It’s okay, I’ll find a way to solve this problem without revealing my bloodline."

"And if you can’t? Are you going to leave that Mar-Yue girl?"

Sol went silent upon hearing that, and a complex expression appeared on his face.

Abdu said no more, and instead went back to sleep. Sol needed to make this decision for himself, no one could do it for him.

After a while, Sol let out a sigh.

He turned to the tent, and he could hear Mar-Yue’s voice along with an older woman’s own.

He was just about to step inside; however, he saw something in the corner of his eyes.

At a tent not too far away, he saw someone stumbling out.

The person fixed his hair and clothes before he was about to walk away. But he happened to see Sol, and his entire body froze, while a shocked look was on his face.

Sol smiled and waved at this person.

"Brother Yoon-Jae!"

Yoon-Jae recovered from his shock, and his face suddenly turned red. He then pretended like he didn’t see or hear Sol, as he hid his face with his hand and hurried away.

Sol, seeing this paused before he scratched his cheek.

"If he’s so embarrassed, then I’ll just pretend I never saw him."

Sol then glanced at the tent Yoon-Jae exited and saw three girls coming out.

They laughed and chatted casually with each other as they walked away.

While Sol watched them leave, he suddenly heard a voice behind him.

"Who are you looking at?"

Sol turned to see that Mar-Yue had exited the tent.

"No one, has your dress been made?"

Mar-Yue nodded with a smile on her face before she said.

"Third Aunt is one of the people responsible for making the protective clothes for our Tribe. While she was out with the other adults, I asked her to bring back some of the crystallized sand from the Heat Zones to make the dress for my birthday. However, you lost your chance to see me wear it, so you’ll just have to wait for tonight when I celebrate my birthday with everyone."

Sol smiled.

"I can wait."

Mar-Yue held Sol’s hand and then said.

"It should be about time for the Coming-of-Age Ceremony. Do you want to watch it?"

"Coming-of-Age-Ceremony? What’s that?"

Before Mar-Yue could answer Sol, a loud sound resounded throughout the Tribe. This was followed by a few more similar sounds and Sol realized it was the sound of a bell ringing.

Mar-Yue pulled Sol’s hand and spoke.

"Let’s go, it’s starting already."

Mar-Yue and Sol left the Tribe. Then using Mar-Yue’s flying boat, they made their way towards the Desert Forest.

On their way, Sol looked over the edge of the boat to see that huge white worm carrying a few people.

It was then he realized it was uncommon for people in the Eternal Desert to travel via flying treasures.

Mar-Yue probably had one due to her father being the Leader of the Tribe.

After a few minutes, the boat reached the Desert Forest.

Sol watched as they passed the public bath and went further in.

The Desert Forest itself was unnaturally large, several dozen kilometers in size. The public baths merely took up the outer periphery when taking everything into account.

After flying for a few minutes past a numerious trees, and some other pools of water, Sol realized the environment had begun to change.

The surroundings no longer looked like a desert, but land he would see in Jianghu.

Sol found this strange, and he started to think the Eternal Desert might not be natural.

However, recalling Abdu’s theory about the Barbarian Race’s fate, Sol shouldn’t be surprised by this revelation.

Suddenly, Sol touched his forehead.

’It’s reacting more the further we go into the forest.’

Sol had wanted to find out what was causing his Holy Crest to react like this, but he was busy with getting the Deep Autumn Flower for Little Zeel.

After that he still had to deal with Mar-Du objecting to his relationship with Mar-Yue, so he thought he had to stifle his curiosity for a bit longer.

However, who would have thought he might get to see what’s causing his Holy Crest to be so agitated so suddenly.

’I wonder what it is.’
