The Growth of a Titan -
Chapter 263- Huh? What Did I Do?
Chapter 263: Chapter 263- Huh? What Did I Do?
Sol looked up from his jade slip to see trees appear over the horizon.
He had just contacted Yoon-Jae and was about to reach the Desert Forest with Mar-Yue using a flying treasure boat.
The destination from the Tribe to the Desert Forest must have taken about eight to ten minutes at top speed.
Mar-Yue had explained to him briefly on the way that this Desert Forest was the largest one in the Eternal Desert.
This might not be a coincidence as this was the very center of the Eternal Desert.
Sol could imagine this Desert Forest growing here due to that.
And indeed it was, it was a concept similar to how it would be calm in the eye of a storm or tornado.
Soon, the flying treasure boat drew closer to the Desert Forest and Sol saw several large as well as small pools of water below.
The trees formed a ring around these pools of water and stretched some tens of meters outwards.
Without using his Heavenly Eyes Sol could see a lot of people swimming in the pools.
The contrast of having this massive desert span on end in the distance, while this Forest was here thriving, created a strange feeling that made this place feel like a lost paradise. This feeling was further amplified by the faint steam that was cloaking the surroundings.
Without even bathing in one of those pools and merely looking at it, anyone could tell the experience would be amazing.
Perhaps this was what Sol needed. Though, he soon got embarrassed once more for not knowing this place existed.
The flying treasure boat quickly came to a stop above the public bath before Mar-Yue said.
"This section is for you boys, the girls’ section is a few hundred meters in that direction."
Sol glanced to the side and nodded in understanding. He guessed that was a given.
As of now, he wanted nothing more than to clean himself and relax for a bit.
After a period of silence, Mar-Yue suddenly said without looking at Sol.
"But if you want to come over to the girls’ section then you cou-"
Mar-Yue stopped talking because when she turned around, she saw that Sol was no longer on the boat.
"At least wait until someone is finished talking!"
Mar-Yue yelled before she grumpily controlled the boat to turn and fly towards the girl’s section.
Just as Sol was about to land, he used his anklets to slow down his momentum. His feet slowly touch the ground a few meters away from one of the large pools.
He then glanced through his bangs at Mar-Yue as she flew away.
Sol scratched his cheek and muttered.
"I don’t think she understood what would have happened if I had actually gone over to the girls’ section."
If it was just the two of them then Sol wouldn’t have minded, but knowing the lengths the other girls would go to, he was just asking for trouble if he went over there.
"Uncle Sol!"
Sol suddenly heard a call from behind, and he turned to see that it was from the youth he had spoken to at the tent. He swam to the edge of the pool.
His yell alerted the other youths in the surroundings of his presence and everyone paused their conversations and swimming to look at Sol.
"Cousin Sol, you finally made it!"
"Yeah, we were wondering why you haven’t come here yet."
The youths all welcomed Sol. The grudge they had against him for killing so many of their sandworms had long been placed at the back of their minds. Though it wasn’t forgotten.
"Well, I didn’t know this place existed."
Sol said walking towards the pool.
"Really? Then you’re really missing out, Cousin Sol!"
"Yeah, hurry and jump in. Did you know if you cultivate here it can increase your cultivation speed? It’s even better than some of the Cultivation Grounds the Martial Alliance Academy has!"
Sol’s eyes flashed.
He had never visited any of the Cultivation Grounds in the Martial Alliance Academy before, so this was his first time entering one. He might as well cultivate for a bit while cleaning himself.
Sol was already eager to jump in but now he was excited to see how much of a difference his cultivation speed was in here.
’Perhaps I should cultivate while I wait for the Deep Autumn Flower. And I have some of the resources from the Hundred Plants and Herbs dimension remaining as well. Which means I can practice my Alchemy I’ve been neglecting.’
Sol wasn’t just thinking of cultivating here for the next few months, but he was planning on going into seclusion like he had planned.
As Sol was organizing his thoughts and planning for the future, he took off his only piece of clothing, which was his pants, to enter the pool.
The youths had already went back to their conversations and swimming in the pool, but as soon as Sol took off his pants, everyone paused and turned to look at him.
Their faces were filled with confusion for a moment, but then a peal of laughter suddenly rang out.
It was coming from the youth who had called out to Sol first.
He was pointing and laughing at Sol.
Soon snickers came from the other youths.
This snapped Sol out of his thoughts, and he looked around confused for a moment. But then he heard.
"Cousin Sol, don’t tell me you haven’t grown any hair yet? Maybe you shaved it all off?"
"No way, there’s not even a single stubble there so that means there wasn’t any to begin with!"
The youths all laughed.
Sol glanced down at his spotless nether region before he played it cool and took out a small towel to tie it around his waist.
The youths’ laughter increased when they saw that, but Sol’s expression didn’t change in the slightest.
However, the person who was laughing the most was the youth Sol had spoken to at the tent. His laughter was especially ear piercing.
Sol couldn’t help but say.
"You little brat, who are you laughing at when you don’t have any either?"
The boy paused his laughter to look at Sol with a smirk. Without hesitation, he leaped out of the pool and as he landed he placed his hands on his hips and puffed out his chest proudly.
"Of course I have, I’m a man after all! Uncle Sol, you might be stronger than me now, but this is proof I’ll surpass you in the future!"
Sol glanced down, and indeed the brat had a few strands swaying in the wind.
However, Sol walked past the boy and towards the pool as he said.
"What are talking about? I don’t see anything."
"Ow!"
The boy suddenly released a yelp before he immediately look down. His soul almost flew out of his body when he saw that his few strands of hair had suddenly vanished.
"Wah! What happened?! Uncle Sol you...!"
The boy turned to look at Sol with tears in the corner of his eyes.
"Huh? What did I do?"
Sol asked as he turned around.
"Uncle Sol, you big bully! Do know how long I’ve been growing those?!"
The boy suddenly charged at Sol swinging his fists, but Sol held his head and kept him at a distance.
The youths in the surroundings all chuckled when they saw this, but a thought struck them and soon their expressions changed. Slight fear crept into their hearts when they remembered how spiteful Sol was.
All the youths stopped laughing and slowly backed away from the edge of the pool where Sol was.
Realizing that he couldn’t get to Sol, the boy stopped swinging his fists and instead opted to fold his arms and glare at him.
Sol released the boy’s head and flicked his forehead as he said.
"Maybe next time you won’t laugh at what others don’t have but you do. You don’t know when you’ll loose yours."
"Ouch."
The boy rubbed his forehead that now had a red spot in the middle.
Sol then turned to enter the pool, but the boy seeing this said.
"Ah, wait, Uncle Sol. You need to use the steam before you enter the pool."
The youth pointed off to the side, and Sol turned to see a few holes some meters away that had steam coming out of them.
"It’s so you can wash off the dirt and keep the pool clean. But don’t worry, it looks like it’s going to hurt, but it’s really fun. I always use it, but Uncle Mar-Dule scolded me and said I can only use it once."
Sol nodded and walked over.
He choose a hole that wasn’t too big and stand above it. A second later hot steam blasted out and covered his entire body.
It lasted for a few breaths worth of time before it stopped and he stepped away.
Sol sniffed himself and realized the sandworms’ smell had vanished. What remained was a lingering sweet scent.
The sand that had accumulated in his hair and on his body was completely gone as well.
"Hm, just once is enough, there’s no reason to do that a second time."
After saying this, Sol made his way over to pool and dived in.
He didn’t hesitate to swim out to the center where it was the deepest and sat at the bottom to cultivate.
