Chapter 251: Chapter 251- You’re Really Strange, You Know That?

SCREECH!!!

The numerous sandworms in the surroundings all released a deafening cry filled with brutality.

Sol clicked his tongue and suddenly leaped to one side as one close by opened its gaping mouth and tried to swallow him.

At the same time, he used his Heavenly Eyes to see into the ground to realize the sandworms were following his movements. His gaze traveled back to the sandstorm that was approaching and his expression became serious.

’They’re trying to stall us.’

"Let’s not fight them! These bastards are trying to stall us!!"

Mar-Yue yelled, and Sol nodded.

"Let’s stick together!"

Sol then dodged another sandworm’s attempt to swallow him, before he weaved through the others while retreating.

Mar-Yue was slower, but she seemed terrifyingly calm despite the deadly situation.

Whether she knew she wasn’t really in danger of dying, or she was too used to this was hard to tell. Though from the looks of it, this was a hands-off training where there was a real possibility of getting hurt.

However, instead of thinking it was alright to just get eaten by one of these because he could be saved, Sol treated this like a real life and death situation.

He moved closer to Mar-Yue as he retreated and so did she.

However, before they could draw close to each other, Sol’s eyes flickered and he yelled.

"DODGE!"

His figure then ground to a halt before he abruptly changed his direction. Mar-Yue did the same, and a sandworm that had anticipated their movements and was waiting for them burst out of the ground.

However, that wasn’t the end of it. In the direction Sol and Mar-Yue were forced to dodge in, one or two sandworms were there waiting.

Sol dodged the first one and thought to himself.

’Are they coordinating their attacks? Either they’re extremely good at hunting their prey in groups, or something is controlling their movements. Maybe both?’

If these sandworms weren’t in the Mortal Realm then the two of them would have been dead long ago. This was their territory, and trying to outrun them was a difficult task.

However, Sol didn’t want to wait and see why they were trying to stall them.

His Heavenly Eyes weren’t able to pierce deep into the sandstorm, but he could feel something approaching while using the sandstorm as a cover.

’Fine, if we can’t compete on the ground what about in the air?’

As Sol thought this, he leaped into the air to dodge the second sandworm that burst from the ground to tried and swallow him.

"Wah! Don’t jump to dodge them!"

Mar-Yue yelled and was about to rush over to Sol so she could help him after he was swallowed. However, what happened next surprised her.

Instead of falling back into the sandworm’s opened mouth, Sol started floating in the mid-air.

Mar-Yue’s eyes went wide before she blurted.

"You-You’re in the Spiritual Realm?!"

"Not quite."

Sol’s body suddenly jerked to the side as the bracelet on his right hand pulled him towards Mar-Yue.

Mar-Yue seeing this realized Sol was flying due to those bracelets.

"Come on!"

Sol called out when he reached Mar-Yue, and without hesitation, she lept up.

BANG!

SCREECH!!!

Right underneath her the sand exploded and a massive sandworm that was at least twice the size of the previous ones appeared.

Sol caught Mar-Yue by her hand and then pulled her up to hold her by her waist. He then looked at the sandstorm that was fast approaching from down below.

It seemed like it was determined to get them, as it ignored how defenseless it would be if it left the ground with its entire body.

Sol narrowed his eyes.

"So what if you have the strength of a Quasi-Spiritual Realm Slirit Beast? You’re lot are quite the arrogant beasts aren’t you?"

Sol then stomped down in mid-air which resulted in a loud bang. The force of his stomp caused the void to tremble and a shockwave of wind to blast down and slam into the sandworm.

The sandworm released another streak, as it was forced back to the ground.

However, Sol didn’t get complacent. He unhesitatingly controlled the bracelet on his right hand to pull him away from this hoard of sandworms.

As it turns out, these weaker sandworms were stalling them so these stronger sandworms could catch up.

With a swoosh, Sol shot through the air as he held on tight to Mar-Yue.

He forgo finesse while controlling his bracelets and just focused on speed.

Due to this, his control became unstable and the two plummeted down to the ground. Luckily, the bracelet had taken them far away from the sandworms’ encirclement.

Sol focused on the crash-landing and instinctively wrapped his arms around Mar-Yue protectively.

After hitting the ground hard from a few tens of meters in the air, they rolled in the sand for a few meters before coming to a stop.

By the end of their roll, Mar-Yue was on top of Sol.

"Sorry for the bad landing."

"It’s fine, but I guess this means we’re even. How disappointing."

Mar-Yue got up and then looked at the sandworms that were burrowing into the ground to chase after them once more.

"We should go. The stone pits are just up ahead."

Sol sat up and looked into the distance. About four to five hundred meters away he saw that people were diving into what looked like holes.

"No, isn’t that counter-intuitive with the sandworms’ ability to burrow through the sand?"

"No, the pits were made by my Father."

Mar-Yue reached out her hand and Sol grabbed it to be pulled up.

However, just as they were about to dash off, the two felt the ground beneath them tremble.

It was such a small tremble anyone else might not have felt it, but Sol and Mar-Yue clearly felt it. And it caused their expressions to change.

They then turned to look at the sandstorm; a terrifying aura had exited it, and was now speeding towards them.

"Damn, we’re screwed if that thing catches us."

Mar-Yue then went behind Sol and climbed onto his back.

"What are you waiting for? Let’s go!"

Sol was amused, but he didn’t hesitate to hold Mar-Yue’s legs and hit the ground running.

While Mar-Yue was on Sol’s back, his hood was down so she happened to see Abdu who was busy sleeping on his head.

’Huh? Was this cat always here?’

Mar-Yue reached up and rubbed Abdu’s head. Her eyes lit up when she felt his fur.

Abdu opened his eyes to glance at Mar-Yue, but then closed them and went back to sleep.

"So cute."

Mar-Yue cooed as she continued to rub Abdu’s fur.

Sol meanwhile, turned to glanced behind him.

The trembling was increasing by the second, and with his Heavenly Eyes, he was able to see a massive sandworm literally swimming beneath the sand towards them.

He gritted his teeth and increased his speed as much as he could in this sand. In just a few moments he had crossed several tens of meters.

However, during that same period, this sandworm crossed several hundred meters.

Sol felt a cold chill go down his spine and a looming danger washed over him that caused his heartbeat to quicken.

"Is this another one of your pet beasts? Or is it the same one you want to help?"

Sol turned to look at Mar-Yue in shock.

"You-How are you so calm right now? That thing’s strength is at the very least in the Spiritual Realm! I’ve fought a Spiritual Realm cultivator before, but this Spirit Beast seems way stronger."

Mar-Yue glanced away from Abdu to look at Sol.

"What are you so worried for? I said my Father and the Elders will save us if we’re going to die."

Sol paused, then asked.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I’m sure."

Sol then went silent and soon a crazy thought started to brew in his mind.

He tried to fight the urge to go through with the idea, but his heart started to beat even faster, not with nervousness, but with excitement.

Finally, Sol gave in and he suddenly came grinding to a halt. He was around two hundred meters away from the stone pits where everyone was leaping into.

"Huh? Why did you stop?"

Sol let down Mar-Yue and said.

"You go on ahead."

Sol then turned around to face the incoming sandworm.

Mar-Yue seeing this had her her eyes go wide

"Are you planning to fight that thing?!"

"Hurry, it’s going to catch up to us soon. It should focus on me, when it does you’ll be able to reach the stone pits with everyone."

Mar-Yue couldn’t help but look at Sol as if she was seeing him for the first time. She shook her head and then grabbed his hand.

"Come on, don’t be stupid."

Mar-Yue then began pulling Sol towards the stone pits, but Sol stood his ground.

"Wait, wait, I’m serious. If your Father and Elders are going step in if I’m going to die, then this is a great opportunity to fight a Spiritual Realm Spirit Beast for the first time."

"Huh? Are you serious? Look, the sandstorm is right there. If you’re swallowed by that thing and it enters the sandstorm, even my father will have a hard time finding you!"

The trembling of the ground was increasing, and the sandworm was drawing closer by the second. It was almost underneath them.

"I’ll be fine really. Just go, hurry."

Sol was starting to panic.

He wasn’t trying to get Mar-Yue involved in this, however, instead of running away, she just stood there with a curious look in her eyes as she stared at him.

"You’re really strange, you know that?"
