The Growth of a Titan -
Chapter 230- Finding A Long-Lost Sibling
Chapter 230: Chapter 230- Finding A Long-Lost Sibling
Swoosh!
As soon as Sol thought about the information on himself, the bookshelves swiftly rearranged themselves and came to a sudden stop. He then saw that a book on the shelf in front of him was glowing with a golden light.
"How convenient."
Sol picked up the book and began skimming through it.
Name: Solovin Solaris
Age: 14
Cultivation Partner: ...
"Huh? That’s..."
A strange piece of information immediately stuck out to Sol.
"After being spotted kissing at the gate of the Bae Clan. He’s rumored to be in a relationship with Bae City’s number one beauty and daughter of the Bae Clan Patriarch, Bae Ha-Yoon."
After reading out the information, Sol laughed in half amusement and half embarrassment.
"Who wrote this? Why would they put something like this in here?"
There was nothing like this in the other book so Sol was confused, but his gaze soon landed on a sentence that was at the end of the page.
"Due to the increasing, and almost threatening demands to include Disciple Solovin’s relationship status, an additional section has been added to his file. Please stop."
Sol rubbed his nose after he read it.
The weird thing about this is that only the disciples of the Disciplinary Pavilion are allowed to view this, so they’re probably the ones who were demanding it.
"Why would they need to be so roundabout in figuring out who I’m with? They could just ask me personally, and I would have answered."
After a moment of thought, Sol swept his finger across his relationship status erasing the information that was there.
Then with just a thought, new details were written.
"I have none, but I’m currently looking for one. If you don’t mind my mediocre looks, then consider becoming my girlfriend. I like to be straightforward so I wouldn’t mind if you came up to me and asked."
"Ah, wait, does this sound like I’m desperate?"
Sol scratched his cheek in thought, before adding something else.
"I’ll consider anyone, but you would need to be just as talented as me."
"Ah, no, now this just sounds like I’m desperate and shameless. But... Father always said I should have high standards when choosing my partner."
Sol scratched his head in thought before he ultimately decided to leave it as is. He shouldn’t be afraid to voice the partner he liked.
"Ehem..."
After coughing in his fist, Sol skipped the page and acted like he hadn’t just shamelessly advertised his desire for a girlfriend.
However, this would really come back to bite him in the future.
Sol soon refocused his attention on the important issue at hand.
He quickly reached the page he was looking for and saw that although his movements were indeed tracked in the Academy, there was no information on his movements outside.
However, Sol wasn’t sure if he could fully believe this book’s information.
They could just not have put it here.
After placing back his book, Sol searched for Mar-Dule and the others’ own.
Luckily, none of them had their movements tracked outside. Well, at least Sol will believe that for now, but would still be cautious going forward.
Sol placed back Byeong-Ho’s book. Even though he hadn’t joined the Academy, information was still collected on him due to his reputation. Soon the bookshelves shifted once more and when they stopped, Sol picked up the book glowing golden in front of him.
It was Yoon-Jae’s book.
Sol flipped it open without much thought.
"Wait!"
However, he suddenly slammed the book shut before he could see the continents on the first page. He looked at the book cover for a moment, before he placed it back onto the shelf.
"He said he’ll tell me soon, so I probably shouldn’t snoop until then."
After burying his curiosity, Sol went to find the three disciples who were suspects of tampering with his information.
When he found them, two of them caught his attention immedaitely.
One was a first-year disciple who was in the Irregular Dharma Pavilion, while the second was actually a second-year Disciplinary Disciple.
"So that’s how it is."
Sol muttered.
After memorizing their information, Sol went to close the book, but he paused and decided to reread the description of the disciple from the Irregular Dharma Pavilion.
"Why does this person seem familiar?"
Sol paused, and went back through his memory to find someone who matched this description. After a breath’s worth of time, his face changed as he realized where he had seen this person before.
"Damn it, is this really him?"
A complicated expression appeared on Sol’s face before he closed the book and left the illusion.
Gion was already waiting for him at the table.
"Two out of three of them are suspicious. One of them is from the Irregular Dharma Pavilion, and the other is from the Disciplinary Pavilion."
Sol immediately said as he approached Gion, who narrowed his eyes at the mention of the Disciplinary Disciple.
However, Sol added.
"It’s not him, I think it’s just that his Disciple Token was stolen, or possibly it was lent to the disciple from the Irregular Dharma Pavilion. So, in reality those two records were made by one person entering here."
"If that’s it, then he probably used it to gain access to your file and made the false records."
Gion said.
He did have his suspicions that it was a fifth-year disciple who had just become an Elder or someone from his Disciplinary Pavilion that made the false records, but turns out it was like this.
"Is the disciple currently in the Academy?"
Sol nodded.
"His last Teleportation registered was to the Irregular Dharma Pavilion two days ago, so he should still be there now. I also found out where his courtyard is located."
"Good, then it’s likely he’s the killer. Let’s go."
Gion unhesitatingly headed for the staircase leading to the surface, while Sol followed behind him.
Sol chose to keep it a secret that he knew this disciple until he was a hundred percent sure.
....
The illusory steps faded away, and Gion along with Sol came up the steps.
The girl at the table immediately stood up and said with a smile.
"Senior Brother Gion, and Brother Sol, please free to come back and request my help anytime."
"Hm."
Gion responded with a hum as he went to leave the Pavilion without looking at the girl.
However, Sol was immediately knocked out of his thoughts. He then stopped in his tracks and turned to look at the girl with a confused expression.
"Who are you?"
Sol asked, causing Gion to stop and turn to look at the girl as well.
However, after looking at the girl, Gion was confused by Sol’s words.
The girl’s smile faltered and a slightly confused expression appeared on her face as she said.
"Brother Sol, I don’t understand what you mean."
Sol suddenly tilted his head.
’Am I sensing things wrongly?’
After thinking this, Sol was about to apologize, however, his eyes flickered before a dark light appeared in one of his pupils.
The image of the girl in front of him distorted, and a shadowy figure appeared in her place.
Sol would need to activate his Heavenly Eyes fully to actually see this person’s true appearance, but using his Heavenly Eyes was too noticeable. This was as much as he could use without alerting anyone.
Sol took two steps and closed the fifteen-meter distance between him and the girl in an instant.
After appearing in front of her he grabbed after her hand. However, the girl’s face which was filled with confusion twisted into an amused smile.
"I expect nothing less of Big Brother, haha."
Instead of grabbing the girl’s hand, Sol grabbed nothing but air.
Sol watched as this afterimage faded away, while a frown played on his face.
"How can someone in the Mortal Realm have such an abnormal speed?"
For Sol to be saying this was surprising, given it was something others would say when they saw him use his Heavenly Steps.
Gion reacted by appearing next to the girl who suddenly popped out of the ground.
"Are you okay?"
The girl nodded as she was helped up.
While Gion was tending to the girl, Sol was looking around the room.
"You’re still here?"
Sol asked aloud, he could feel someone’s gaze on him.
But it wasn’t due to his sharp senses. This person wanted him to know he was here. As if he was challenging Sol to find him.
Sol paused and thought for a moment; trying to make sense of the situation.
’He’s using Shadow Arts and he called be Big Brother. I don’t remember having a long-lost sibling, but I do have someone close to that so I can kind of guess who this person is. But I can’t welcome him right now.’
Sol shook his head and said.
"I can’t play with you right now, I’m a bit busy. But maybe after I’m done."
"Big Brother Sol, you know who I am?"
The playful voice of a boy was heard echoing in the room.
Gion approached Sol and started looking around.
But even as he sent out his Soul Energy he couldn’t tell where this voice was coming from. He was shocked, considering this person was supposed to be in the Mortal Realm.
"I thought you weren’t going to join the Academy until next year?"
"I manage to sneak away from Master to come to the Academy early. If I had to wait for another year I might have died from either boredom or Master’s training."
Sol chuckled at that.
"But I only found you Big Brother Sol, where is Eldest Brother?"
"He’s helping me with something on the Alchemy Pavilion Mountain."
"Oh, that’s right, he was learning Alchemy. I’ll go visit him, but before I go, do you need my help with what you’re busy with Big Brother Sol?"
Sol shook his head.
"It’s okay."
"Hm, then I’ll be leaving to spy on Eldest Brother next, haha. See you soon Big Brother Sol."
With that boy left the Pavilion.
"Who was that?"
"He’s..."
Sol went to answer Gion’s question, but how should he explain who that was? He couldn’t just say it was his third Uncle Master’s disciple. That was best kept a secret.
"...He’s a friend."
Gion immediately gave Sol a suspicious look.
However, Sol scratched his cheek and changed the topic.
"We should head to the Irregular Dharma Pavilion Mountain to find Geon-Soo’s killer."
Sol wanted this to be over since he’d much rather be with Little Zeel right now than be stuck doing this.
After apologizing to the girl, and gifting her a few mid-grade Aether Stones, Sol exited the Pavilion.
He and Gion headed back to the Irregular Dharma Pavilion to capture Geon-Soo’s killer.
