Chapter 227: Chapter 227- I’ll Repay Back My Humiliation Tenfold!!
Only after a few minutes did Woo-Seong’s cries die down to occasional hiccups. While sniffling, he wiped his eyes with his tattered sleeve before saying.
"Help me up."
Sol turned around and helped Woo-Seong stand up.
"Were you really not the one who killed my brother?"
Sol met Woo-Seong’s gaze, and he saw that his eyes were slightly red.
Shaking his head Sol said.
"If I were to kill someone who wanted me dead, I would do it myself."
"My brother never intended to kill you. That brat couldn’t even harm an ant if he wanted to."
’I call bull.’
Sol immediately thought.
Woo-Seong’s words might have some truth in them, but he was most likely suffering from ’Big Brother Syndrome,’ where his view of his brother and what others thought of him were in an entirely different Realm of their own.
Geon-Soo had definitely wanted to kill Sol to get his bracelets. If he had gone further than sending people to attack him in the Heaven Pagoda, Sol would have cornered him in the Academy and retaliated. Perhaps he wouldn’t have killed him, but he would have beaten him out of spite.
"But if you didn’t kill my brother, then who did?"
"That’s what we are here to find out."
Gion said, stepping forward.
"How?"
"Were you the one who found him?"
Woo-Seong turned to Sol and nodded.
"Then did he really die from Qi Deviation?" (A/N: That’s what I get for trying to change Qi to Aether Energy. I’m gonna leave that as Qi Deviation so I feel embarrassed when I narcissistically reread this Chapter.)
Woo-Seong nodded before he walked towards the outside courtyard.
Sol was still gripping his hand, so he was dragged along.
Woo-Seong then stopped in a specific area in the middle of the yard and said.
"I found him here with blood coming out of his orifices. His Aether Energy was completely chaotic as well."
Gion said from the side.
"Blood coming out of his eyes, nose, mouth, and ears could be his internal organs rupturing. His Chaotic Aether Energy is another clear sign of Aether Deviation as well."
Woo-Seong’s brows creased as he nodded.
After a moment Sol asked skeptically.
"How do we know for sure this was someone’s doing? Is it not possible he died because he was careless during cultivation?"
Woo-Seong went to glare at Sol, but he stopped himself as that was a reasonable question to ask.
"Brother Sol, Geon-Soo was in the Mortal Realm with all the acupoints in only one of his limbs opened. If he had Aether Deviation at most, he would suffer severe injuries from the backlash of Aether Energy. But instead, he died when the amount of Aether Energy he was circulating shouldn’t have been deadly."
Woo-Seong added.
"Someone would need to have infused Aether Energy inside his body while he was cultivating. The question is how."
"There are two ways."
Sol said holding up two fingers.
"One is that this person snuck in here and did it by touching Geon-Soo. The second is that he was somehow able to give Geon-Soo a medicinal pill design to cause a spike in Aether Energy when he was opening an acupoint."
"Geon-Soo doesn’t use any medicinal pills besides the ones I give him personally."
"Then that rules out the second possibility; leaving the first."
Gion said, and Sol turned to Woo-Seong and asked.
"Who is allowed to enter your brother’s courtyard?"
"No one, I’m the only one who visits my brother."
Sol’s brows creased.
’This is bad, if that’s the case then someone could have easily snuck into the Irregular Dharma Pavilion and killed Geon-Soo. There aren’t any protective Formations around the courtyard to keep anyone out either.’
As if reading Sol’s mind, Woo-Seong said.
"Who would be crazy enough to kill my brother inside the Academy; in his own home on the Irregular Dharma Pavilion Mountain no-less. That’s what I thought so I never worry over his well-being."
Sol’s eyes flashed.
"Indeed, who would want to kill your brother that they would go to this extent? Do you know any of your brother’s enemies besides me?"
"He doesn’t have any besides you."
Sol looked at Woo-Seong with a strange expression.
"I find that hard to believe."
Gion also looked at Woo-Seong.
Woo-Seong paused, then said.
"I know I enabled some of the bad things he did, like bullying the disciples of the other Pavilions. But he knows not to go too far and cause trouble for me. You’re the only one he was fixated on for some reason."
"Aren’t you the Head Disciple of the Irregular Dharma Pavilion? Not just your brother, you’re enabling the other disciples as well. Why don’t you stop them?"
Woo-Seong frowned.
"Do you think I stand by and do nothing? However, no matter what I say or do, it’s not like I can follow every disciple around the academy and make sure they’re following the rules. Isn’t that what your Disciplinary Disciples are for?"
Woo-Seong said turning to Gion, who immediately frowned at Woo-Seong’s words and said hatefully.
"You know that the Disciplinary Pavilion is under the Second Grand Elder of the Academy, your grandfather. Every time we caught them in the act, they would be released the next day."
"Is the Second Grand Elder of the Academy similarly related to the Wudang Sect as the Third Elder is to the Huashan Sect?"
Gion nodded.
"The Fourth Grand Elder is also related to the Emei Sect. As for the First Grand Elder, nothing is known about him, but it’s said he was an elder from the Huashan Sect as well."
Sol shelf this new piece of information and then said.
"Then our only lead is the false record at the Administrative Mountain and the remaining people on your list."
"Alright, let’s go."
Gion turned to leave, and Sol followed him. But Woo-Seong suddenly asked.
"Can you let go of my hand?"
Sol paused and looked down at his hand holding onto Woo-Seong’s own. He then looked back up at Woo-Seong and asked.
"Are you going to attack me after I let go?"
"No."
Woo-Seong said plainly.
Sol silently stared at him for a moment before slowly letting go of his hand.
Immediately after Sol let go, Woo-Seong roared.
"Bastard! How dare you make me humiliate myself in front of so many people!!"
Woo-Seong pulled out his sword and his Sword Aura burst forth as he went to attack Sol.
Sol rolled his eyes expecting this, however, before Woo-Seong’s attack could reach him a voice echoed out above the courtyard.
"Son, what are you doing?"
A powerful force then gently squashed Woo-Seong’s Sword Intent, before picking him up off the ground.
"Wah-Father? What are you doing here?"
Woo-Seong was shocked.
"I came here to discuss some matters with the Academy Leader. I was leaving when I decided to come and see you. But didn’t I say you should be in seclusion? Why did you come out to cause trouble in the Academy?"
"I came out because brother died! I’m going to find his killer!"
The voice sighed when he heard Woo-Seong.
"Are you still upset over that boy’s death? You should be focused on your cultivation and let the right people deal with this issue son."
’Wow.’
Sol knew this was the Patriarch of the Wudang Sect, a legendary figure in Jianghu. But the way he was speaking about Geon-Soo’s death was quite jarring. He made it out to be an insignificant matter.
Sol could understand why he didn’t care for Geon-Soo, even Sol didn’t to a certain extent, but it wasn’t to the point he would be so dismissive about his death.
Woo-Seong seemed to be used to his father’s treatment of Geon-Soo as he simply corrected his father.
"His name is Geon-Soo, not brat Father. And I’m perfectly fine, I just wish to find my brother’s killer."
"Hm?"
The voice sounded surprised.
"I thought it would take a while for that knot to be removed from your heart, but you’ve already recovered. Perhaps that brat’s death didn’t affect you as much as I thought."
"That’s not it father!"
Woo-Seong shouted angrily before he gave Sol a side-eyed glance.
"Well, since you’ve recovered, you’ll be returning to seclusion. It’s important you train diligently before ’that’ time comes."
Woo-Seong was then forcefully pulled out of the courtyard.
"No, damn it! What’s wrong with you, you fucking old man?! I’m old enough to make my own decisions!"
"Son, what did I say about that language of yours?"
"Fuck! Put me down!"
Despite Woo-Seong attitude, it could be seen his father doted on him too much to even raise his voice and scold him. Not once did his tone of voice hold anger in it when he spoke to Woo-Seong.
Realizing his father was adamant in his decision, Woo-Seong turned to Sol and barked.
"Bastard, just you wait, I’ll repay back my humiliation tenfold! And... And you better find the bastard who killed my brother...!!"
Woo-Seong’s voice trailed off as he was dragged out of sight.
