Chapter 212- Reverse Total Eclipse
Chapter 212: Chapter 212- Reverse Total Eclipse
With a twist of his body, Sol dodged another one of Hyun-Joo’s attacks. But instead of retreating like usual, he took a step forward.
BANG!
Hyun-Joo was caught off guard by this and Sol’s fist slammed into her chest.
Hyun-Joo was sent stumbling back several steps. A bit of blood seeped through the corners of her mouth as she glared at Sol.
Cultivators in Jianghu didn’t heavily focus on cultivating their Fleshly Bodies. That was even more so for Sword Cultivators.
The meta for them was to place all of their attention on their learning the sword and increasing their attack power. Of course, there were some exceptions to this, but this was the path most Sword Cultivators would take in Jianghu.
For defense, they wouldn’t need to worry about that too much as they have their Aether Energy and their Sword intent to protect the bodies.
However, for Hyun-Joo, she didn’t have the pleasure of focusing her Aether Energy and Sword Intent on protecting her body when this poison would spread even faster.
If it was a normal Mortal Realm Cultivator this wouldn’t be a problem, but it was Sol.
With this momentum, Sol bore down on Hyun-Joo.
With each attack she made, she was leaving an opening for Sol to slither his way past her defense.
Hyun-Joo was on guard and was able to retrieve her sword each time to block his attacks but she was being forced back.
"H-How dare an ant force my hand like this!"
Hyun-Joo was enraged. If she didn’t have this poison in her system she could have killed this person as easily as flipping her palm.
"Instead of talking why don’t you get it together? Is this all you can do?"
Sol was quite disappointed, to say the least.
Hyun-Joo battle instincts were almost non-existent. Her Sword Martial Art look refined but Sol’s keen eyes saw the numerous flaws she tried to hide by over compensating with her abundance of Aether Energy.
Sol realized she was someone who went through life without suffering hardships that could have pushed her to do better. Possibly due to her status.
But Sol should have known this would be the case, after all this was the very reason why Byeong-Ho was frustrated with the lack of competition from the Rising Stars from the big Clans and Sects.
’But is every Arkadian like this? Or is it just those from powerful backgrounds? It seems the powerful have gotten too complacent.’
Sol slipped past Hyun-Joo’s defense and feinted a punch, his leg blurred and caught Hyun-Joo in the ribs.
The blood she was holding back came up her throat. However, Hyun-Joo bore the brunt of Sol’s kick and grabbed his foot.
"BASTARD!!"
Hyun-Joo clutched onto Sol’s leg before lifting him off the ground and tossing him like a rag doll.
Sol crashed into the ground several meters away, hard. But before he could hit the ground for a second time, his body twisted mid-air and he landed on his feet.
His feet left deep trails on the ground as he forced his body to stop.
Bang!
As soon as Sol stopped his body burst forth with immense speed and appeared in front of Hyun-Joo to throw out a punch.
BANG!
Sol’s fist that was aimed at Hyun-Joo’s head met a barrier made of wind that swirled around Hyun-Joo’s body.
As soon as Sol’s fist met the barrier, blades of wind filled with Sword Intent attacked.
Sol’s right arm burst into a bloody mess, his sleeves were shredded and his arm looked completely mutilated like he was mauled by a wild animal.
However, Sol didn’t so much as flinch.
He formed a hand seal and the runes on the bracelets on his middle fingers glowed.
Sol pulled back his mutilated hand and struck out at Hyun-Joo once more.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Sol rained down punches on Hyun-Joo’s terrifying wind barrier. Each fist strike resulted in his arm being shredded by the winds and Sword Intent, however, Sol would heal the wounds each time.
It reached the point where his healing was on par with the amount of damage Hyun-Joo’s wind barrier was dealing him.
*Vomit*
Hyun-Joo vomited out a mouth full of ghastly black blood.
"Ba-Bastard..."
Her wind barrier vanished and she tried retreating, but Sol hounded her down like a predator after their prey.
Hyun-Joo felt the poison spread even more to cover nearly her entire body. As she watched Sol approach she felt cornered.
Throwing caution to the wind, Hyun-Joo didn’t hold back anymore.
Sol’s eyes flickered as he saw bright white light erupt where her Mortal Palace was inside of her body.
He didn’t hesitate to stop his attack and retreat.
BANG!
A second later a massive aura burst forth from Hyun-Joo’s body.
Her Innate Dharma in the form of a sword made of sharp winds materialized above her head.
Hyun-Joo threw away her Divine Artifact and floated into the air. Her hand then wrapped around her Innate Dharma, and immediately it seemed as if she had transformed into Wind Goddess.
The Wind Aether Energy in the surroundings jumped in joy and they happily rushed towards Hyun-Joo’s Innate Dharma. They gathered around it and formed a swirly vortex of sword-like winds.
Hyun-Joo’s robes and hair flapped wildly as she looked down at Sol; her eyes had been taken over by an intense white glow.
Sol felt a terrifying chill go down his spine when her gaze landed on him. He saw that the black lines that were on her face were slowly disappearing.
This wasn’t the poison being expelled, but rather she was using this boost in power to forcefully suppress it. But what that also meant was that the moment she loosened up, it would finish her off.
Hyun-Joo was betting everything on being able to kill Sol and get the antidote.
Feeling her power, Sol realized it was several times greater than what she had shown before.
Because of the poison, he was fighting her when she could only use around thirty percent of her power. The other seventy percent was being used to keep the poison at bay.
However, Hyun-Joo in this state, no longer cared about the poison. She now uses ten percent of her cultivation base to keep it back, while focusing the ninety on killing Sol.
Yoon-Jae and the others seeing this began to panic, but there was nothing they could do at this point.
Swoosh!
Hyun-Joo’s aura swept out and an insurmountable pressure pressed down on the surroundings.
Sol’s shoulder slumped and his knees almost buckled under this pressure.
’So this is the true power of a Spiritual Realm cultivator. It’s greater than I thought it would be. Can I really go against her?’
Doubt crept into Sol’s mind, but he immediately squashed it.
Of course, he expected this to happen, he wanted it to happen.
If his Bloodline could only be awakened under extreme circumstances, if it didn’t awaken further in this situation he didn’t know what could be called extreme.
Without hesitation, Sol sent the energy from his crescent moon towards his sun Holy Crest.
Both his physical body and soul were being empowered.
Immediately, Sol noticed something was different.
The crescent moon tattoo and the sun tattoo on his forehead seemed to synchronized. At the same time, they shifted positions on Sol’s forehead.
The crescent moon was now behind the sun tattoo, empowering it.
It was a Reverse Total Eclipse.
BANG!!
Holy Energy Sol had never felt before coursed through his body and erupted outward.
However, he suddenly coughed out a mouth full of blood.
The Holy Energy that came from the empowered Holy Crest sun tattoo tried to move through his widened meridians and open acupoints, but his Wood Aether Energy was already occupying them.
The Aether Energy reacted violently to the Holy Energy encroaching upon its territory.
The backlash was massive and it forced Sol to his knees. The Holy Power coursing through his body began to dissipate.
"Damn it, Master was right."
