The Growth of a Titan
Chapter 168- Retreat… Now

Chapter 168: Chapter 168- Retreat... Now

Sol recalled seeing Byeong-Ho back then, that was two weeks ago. That meant Byeong-Ho was tethering on life and death in the Inner Court fighting Spirit Beasts for two weeks. And with the fact that there might be Spirit Beasts in the Spiritual Realm in the Inner Court, Byeong-Ho was lucky to be alive.

His current condition was the best outcome.

But Sol believed it was still too reckless on his part.

Heon-Tae was going all out for this very reason. While Sol was in his thoughts, he and Byeong-Ho were locked in a fierce battle.

However, what started out as a slightly equal battle, as Byeong-Ho’s aura of breakthrough got stronger, Heon-Tae would feel his organs rattle with every sword strike him.

What’s more, Byeong-Ho seemed to be calming down. He was no longer swinging his sword wildly, his movements became refined as he continuously used the 32 Plum Blossom Sword Play.

It was merely a Martial Art that didn’t have Aether Energy circulation to accompany it, but with each sword movement, Byeong-Ho’s Sword Intent would ripple out with terrifying power.

After several dozen clashes, it became too much for Heon-Tae.

However, as he was knocked back with blood leaking from the corner of his lips, he glared at Byeong-Ho and roared.

"How long are you going to take to make a simple breakthrough?! Aren’t you supposed to be some heavenly genius? But here you are having gone crazy training with your sword. Instead of heavenly genius, they should called you an Obsessed Sword Freak!"

Byeong-Ho didn’t release a mad howl but instead narrowed his eyes at Heon-Tae.

Instead of charging at madly like before, he stood still and raised his sword above his head.

"Eight swords turn into one."

Byeong-Ho mumbled as he slashed down.

He was fifty meters away from Heon-Tae but his Sword Intent suddenly appeared in front of him like distance didn’t matter.

Heon-Tae reacted by slashing out with his blade; his Blade Intent roaring out to meet Byeong-Ho’s attack.

However, his Blade Intent which had the aura of an indomitable Will to hack everything in existence was suddenly slashed in half.

Heon-Tae stared wide-eyed as the pink Sword Intent split open the ground and headed toward him.

He blocked it with the side of his Immortal blade but his shoulder suddenly spurted blood, and he was thrown back.

The Immortal blade could only block so much of his body, the sword strike didn’t stop for anything else.

Heon-Tae skated to a stop before clutching his bloody shoulder.

"Sixteen swords turned into one."

Heon-Tae looked up and saw Byeong-Ho swinging down once more.

He managed to roll out of the way before he was split in half by this Sword Intent.

Looking at where he was previously, Heon-Tae saw plum blossoms blooming inside the long gash in the ground. It’s as if it was a prelude to his funeral.

"Twenty-four swords turned into one."

"Damn it!"

Heon-Tae lifted his head and roared out. He was actually getting terrified of this bastard of a younger brother.

The calm and almost peaceful third Sword Intent strike from Byeong-Ho appeared in front of Heon-Tae the he slashed down. But Heon-Tae wasn’t fooled, this strike was even more terrifying than the first.

Though his aura exploded out as he chose to face it head-on.

He had received blade-type Martial Skills from the Blade Immortal, he wasn’t able to grasp them fully yet but he still brought out the strongest one he knew.

"Blade Sovereignty of the Nine Heavens!"

Heon-Tae raised his Immortal blade and a golden aura suddenly wrapped around it. His Blade Intent increased and terrifying ripples spread into the surroundings, causing the small rocks in the area to burst into dust.

"Third Brother!"

"Third Brother!"

Ji-Hoon and the wounded youth Sol healed cried out when they saw this.

Heon-Tae slashed down.

Byeong-Ho’s Sword Intent and his Blade Intent clashed.

The clash was louder than anything before it, and it created the largest crater in the area.

Before the dust and rumble from the destroyed road could rise into the air, it was swept away by the shockwave of the clash.

The results were clear, without much surprise Heon-Tae’s Blade Intent was severed.

However, just before Byeong-Ho’s third sword strike could continue to cut Heon-Tae, Sol appeared next to him and pulled him out of the way.

He could only have done this because Heon-Tae had weakened the sword strike.

Several strands of Heon-Tae hair were severed and he watched as they floated to the ground in dumbfoundment.

Turning to Byeong-Ho he roared.

"Bastard! You could have killed me!!"

"Thirty-two swords turned into one."

"This bastard."

Heon-Tae cursed again when he saw that Byeong-Ho was ignoring him.

But Sol suddenly said.

"He’s still in a trance."

Byeong-Ho didn’t immediately attack for a fourth time, but instead, his hand lingered above his head.

Feeling the aura radiating from his sword, Heon-Tae felt his scalp tingle.

"Time out! Time out you bastard!"

He began yelling nervously.

"Brother Heon-Tae, I’ll take over from here, you can retreat."

Heon-Tae glanced at Sol before he nodded.

"Oh, can I borrow that Brother Heon-Tae?"

Sol asked while pointing at the Immortal blade in his hand.

Heon-Tae happily obliged and he hurriedly retreated back to where Ji-Hoon and the others were to lick his wounds.

"Sol."

Yoon-Jae suddenly called out.

"Yes, Brother Yoon-Jae?"

Sol responded without looking back.

"Retreat... now."

Sol smiled.

"Don’t worry, I can handle it."

Yoon-Jae frowned and he turned to glared at Abdu.

"Bastard do something."

Abdu glanced at Sol before casually asking.

"Brat, do you want me to step in?"

"No, Little Abdu, I can handle it."

"Fuck! Stop joking around Sol, enough with this! Get back!"

The Sword Intent accumulating around Byeong-Ho’s sword wasn’t ordinary. It wasn’t his power, it was the power of his enlightenment.

It was a strike that would consummate the breakthrough of his Sword Technique. And it was power beyond what Byeong-Ho could currently accomplish.

Sol was practically putting his neck on the chopping block trying to face this sword strike.

Yoon-Jae said Sol would be fine with any injury as long as he didn’t die, but this could actually be his last moments before his head rolled to the ground.

"Brother Yoon-Jae, you’re worrying too much. When have I ever lied to you? I can definitely take it!"

"Bastard!"

Yoon-Jae cursed and suddenly dashed forward, but a dark ghastly hand immediately grabbed and pinned him to the ground.

Yoon-Jae glared at Abdu like he wanted to gnaw on his flesh.

Abdu didn’t look up at Yoon-Jae as he said between cleaning his fur.

"Stay put and watch. Didn’t I say I would step in if things got too dangerous? You’ll just be a nuisance if you go in now."
