The Growth of a Titan
Chapter 162- Peng Ha-Yun

Chapter 162: Chapter 162- Peng Ha-Yun

Sol was silent after Heon-Tae’s words.

It felt hard for him to speak on his decision even with his Master being the Sect Leader of the Forgotten Sect. Should he say he was selfish by thinking this way?

His Master probably didn’t tell him about the Forgotten Sect because he felt the same way as Heon-Tae’s Mother.

But as selfish as Heon-Tae’s words sounded, he had a right to feel the way he does.

The silence that fell between Sol and Heon-Tae afterward was awkward.

Abdu who was on Sol’s head opened one of his eyes to look at Heon-Tae and Sol.

Heon-Tae was choosing to cast aside his inherit hatred and desire for revenge to a certain extent, this went against everything Sol was currently facing.

Abdu said nothing and only closed his eyes to return to his nap.

The awkward silence between the two youths persisted as they were about to reach the exit of the palace.

Not able to withstand the silence anymore, Heon-Tae turned to Sol and said.

"Brother Sol-"

"Brother Heon-Tae-"

Heon-Tae was surprised by Sol suddenly turning around at the same time as him.

"You go first."

Sol said with a smile.

"Brother Sol, I didn’t mean what I said in a lecturing way, I was just unloading my thoughts. But this isn’t like me, I just feel I can be honest with Brother Sol."

"I was just about to say you don’t have to think too deeply about my silence. I just have my own situation. There’s someone I can’t forgive."

"Is it related to the Six Holy Sects and the Five Great Clans?"

Sol shook his head. He didn’t clarify who it was, but Heon-Tae seeing this didn’t push for him to say.

Soon the two boys made their way out of the palace.

They were immediately faced with disciples from the Peng Clan patrolling the area, but they went completely undetected.

As Heon-Tae was walking down the palace’s steps, he stopped to stare at a disciple standing below the stairs.

Sol had to stop with him so he didn’t leave the Formation.

Looking at Heon-Tae making faces at the disciple Sol chimed in.

"Brother Heon-Tae, if you continue to stare like that-"

Before Sol could finish, the disciple Heon-Tae was making face at suddenly turned to look in his direction, which startled him out of his wits.

As he stumbled back Sol caught him.

"What just happened?"

Heon-Tae asked as he saw the disciples frown before looking away.

Sol helped him up as he explained.

"The Formation acts as a separate world from the outside that hides our presence, but anything that happens in here reflects in the outside world. That means our steps as we move with the formation can be seen, however, luckily it’s dark so we’re safe."

"So he was able to sense my gaze?"

Sol nodded.

"Luckily, he’s dumb enough to ignore his senses."

Heon-Tae chuckled at Sol’s words.

The two then continue to make their exit out the front entrance, and they reach a few meters away from the palace.

"Second Young Master, it was only a beam falling."

"*Tch*... Can’t you do a better job at fixing the palace?"

"I-I apologize second Young Master, I’ll be sure to have our members check the other beams and pillars."

Sol hearing this conversation turned his head to look in the direction it was coming from.

He saw the youth from before who had scolded the two guards back at the hall. He was bowing at a ninety-degree angle in front of another youth who looked around the same age as him.

He had sword-like eyebrows and sharp features. Even without hearing his title, Sol could tell he was a Young Master by the way he dressed and carried himself.

"Who is that?"

Sol only briefly glanced at the youth, and so did Heon-Tae before he replied.

"He’s the second Young Master of the Peng Clan and younger brother of the Rising Star Peng Han. His name is Peng Ha-Yun-"

Swoosh!

The vicious sound of the air being torn apart by a sharp blade echoed in the silent night.

Heon-Tae’s heart was in his throat as he looked down at the ground where he was before Sol pulled him out of the way.

A long gash was there and it was filled with an aura that had the desire to hack everything in existence.

"Blade Intent?"

Sol looked at this long gash and commented.

"S-Second Young Master, why did you suddenly make an attack?"

Ha-Yun was glaring at Sol and Heon-Tae’s position with a suspicious look in his eyes. He ignored the disciple before he sheath his blade on his waist.

After looking at the area for a few more seconds, he turned to the youth and asked.

"Where is that bastard Mar-Dule? Isn’t he supposed to be here to get the teleportation array working?"

"I-I’ve contacted him, but he hasn’t responded second Young Master."

"Tch!"

Ha-Yun clicked his tongue before he strode off to a tent some distance away from the palace.

Heon-Tae looked at Ha-Yun when he was at a proper distance before saying.

"How scary, to think he was able to sense the Blade Intent inside the blade."

Abdu retrieved his Soul Energy that was covering the Immortal blade in Heon-Tae’s hand before Sol asked.

"Was he the one who sensed the burst of Blade Intent?"

"Yeah, but I found it weird then. I was able to suppress the outburst somewhat but he was still able to sense it from the Peng Clan’s camp."

"How far away is the Peng Clan’s camp?"

Judging by the Heon-Tae’s blue robes, he was using the identity of a Peng Clan clansman before this.

"The Peng Clan’s camp is about half a kilometer away from here."

Sol’s eyebrows raised when he heard.

"And he was able to sense the Blade Intent from that distance? How is he not in Academy with us?"

Sol could see that Ha-Yun was wearing different robes than the ones the Peng Clan members wore in the Martial Alliance Academy.

"It’s rumored that the Patriarch of the Peng Clan is grooming him to become the next Clan Patriarch, while Peng Han will become the Pavilion Headmaster of the Peng Clan Pavilion in the Academy."

Sol glanced at the blade slash on the ground before asking.

"How does he compare to his brother in terms of talent?"

"He’s far superior, but most people don’t know because he keeps a low profile. I think only a few people in our generation have learned Blade Intent to the extent he has. He might have been able to receive the Blade Immortal’s Inheritance since he met the requirements of having a Blade Innate Dharma and Blade Intent."

Sol turned to look at Heon-Tae.

"What about Brother Heon-Tae?"

Heon-Tae smiled.

"If I and Ha-Yun or Han were to battle now I might not win, but in the next three months, I’m confident I would be able to beat them. Brother Sol, you should know the only reason I was able to enter the Peng Clan despite not having the Peng Clan’s blood is because of my talents. This Blade Immortal Inheritance would simply be supplementing my growth."

Sol took a second glance at Heon-Tae. He could tell he was being serious, but if that was true it meant he claiming to be stronger than a Rising Star, a Monster-level genius.

Only a few people could claim such a thing, and even those few would be filled with inflated egos.

The two resumed their walk and Heon-Tae went on to explain how an Elder of the Peng Clan adopted him. But the Elder wasn’t notable in the Peng Clan, so when he died because he was stuck in the early stages of the Spiritual Realm, Heon-Tae was left to his own devices.

They left the Grand Fornation and the palace got further behind the two youths as they chatted and walked on a path in the forest.

Sol kept the Formation up as there were some disciples walking along this path as well. But even after not seeing any disciples he kept it up just in case.

The night slowly came to its peak with the moon filling the forest with its warm silver rays.

It could be said, that this infiltration mission was a resounding success.

Having reached far enough along this path, the two boys contemplated running the rest of the way.

However, just before they could make a decision...

"Hiccup!"

The sound of someone loudly hiccuping was heard some distance away.

"Hiccup!"

Sol and Heon-Tae paused and looked ahead on the path to see a figure wobbling towards them while taking a swig from a bottle gourd occasionally.

"I can’t believe someone would be this drunk at this time of the night. Wait! Isn’t that...?"

Heon-Tae’s words trailed off as he turned to look at Sol.

Sol meanwhile had a smile on his face.

Even without the moonlight overhead or his Heavenly Eyes, he would still be able to tell who that rotund figure belonged to with just a glance.
