Chapter 160- Infiltration Mission
Chapter 160: Chapter 160- Infiltration Mission
Sol was currently hanging upside down from a tall tree with his arms folded and eyes closed.
It was already nightfall and the stars in this dimension were out and about showing off their dazzling appearance.
However, despite the quiet and peaceful night, Sol had a deep frown on his face.
Earlier today, an unforeseen event happened.
Sol opened his eyes and a ghost dark light appeared in them as he looked at the ruined palace that was around two hundred meters away.
Well, the palace was supposed to be in ruins but it was rebuilt somewhat.
As for who rebuilt it, it was the disciples from the Runes and Formation Pavilion and the members of the Peng Clan.
They had discovered the Teleportation Array, but on the surface, you would think they gathered here because they decided to plant medicinal herbs here.
They received the news a few minutes after Ji-Hoon’s third brother and fifth brother got the keys. After teleporting from the Blade Immortal Palace back to this ruined Palace, the key Ji-Hoon’s third brother was carrying suddenly released a burst of Blade Intent.
Sol heard from Ji-Hoon that the key was a blade that had a portion of the Blade Immortal’s Blade Intent inside.
When he first heard that Sol wondered if he had received the short end of the stick by getting a Formation.
Of course, Su Moon’s Formation would prove more beneficial to him in the long run than a blade with an Immortal’s Blade Intent inside. And he might not even be able to control it.
But still, if it wasn’t him then Su Moon’s Legacy Inheritance wouldn’t be compared to the Blade Immortal’s Inheritance.
Well, even with the Blade Immortal’s Inheritance Ji-Hoon’s third brother was trapped inside the ruined palace.
"Are you just going to stay here until the sun rises?"
Abdu asked from next to Sol on the branch.
"Little Abdu, the palace is surrounded by a Grand Formation. The disciples from the Runes and Formation Pavilion along with the members from Peng Clan are keeping watch around the area too. I don’t see a point of entrance I can exploit even if can hide inside my Heavenly Samsara Formation. How do you suggest I enter?"
After licking his paw, Abdu said.
"I can just kill everyone and avoid all this nonsense."
Sol’s eyes widen.
"No, of course that’s out of the question Little Abdu."
"I was just joking. But you can just force your way in, even without my help you should be able to."
"Little Abdu, the main point of this infiltration mission is getting in and out without being discovered."
Abdu looked at Sol annoyed.
"Well, don’t ask me, figure it out yourself."
Sol smiled at Abdu.
"Awe, Little Abdu are you upset? I’m sorry~"
Sol went to grab Abdu to comfort him, but he hissed and swatted Sol’s hand away.
Sol retreated but still had a smile on his face.
He then looked back at the ruined palace.
After thinking for a moment, Sol saw that a portion of the roof was still damaged leaving a hole inside of it. He then looked down at his wrists and a plan started to form in his mind.
"Well, if I can’t enter by land, then air should do... *hup!*"
Sol leaped off the branch and before he could start falling into the canopy of the smaller trees below, his figure came to a stop in mid-air.
The runes on his anklets were flashing with a barely perceptable light.
After Abdu leaped onto his head Sol started to float over to the ruined palace.
He also formed a hand seal and released his Heavenly Samsara Formation to cover himself and Abdu.
It took him a while to reach the palace but Sol wasn’t in a hurry. He had his arms folded as the cold breeze of the night blew through his hair and robes.
Sol looked down at the disciples guarding the ground below. He figured they would have never suspected someone would invite themselves in like this.
After reaching atop the doom-like Grand Formation that surrounded the palace, Sol formed several hand seals.
To someone who had no knowledge of runes or formations, they might not be able to detect that a Grand Formation was here. Even beginner Rune and Formation Masters might fail to grasp its existence, much less know of a way to get past it.
Whoever created it was extremely knowledgeable about formations and runes.
This made Sol think about Mar-Dule.
He and Yoon-Jae decided not to involve him in the mission to Immortal Shen’s Palace.
After forming the hand seals, the black rune on Sol’s left hand lit up and a single red rune formed on his outstretched palm.
Sol let the small red rune fall and land on the Grand Formation below him.
This caused the Grand Formation to be faintly revealed, but soon after the small red rune integrated into it before expanding. As it expanded an opening was created in Grand Formation that Sol lowered himself through.
Afterward, the small red rune closed and then disappeared along with the Grand Formation.
Sol calmly floated down through the hole in the palace’s roof. It was completely dark when he entered the palace, but Sol could see just fine.
He was about to land on the ground but after seeing the amount of dust that covered the floor, he opted against it and chose to hover a few inches off the ground.
Like this Sol floated his way down the halls of the palace.
The interior and layout wasn’t much different from the servant Palace the Alchemy Pavilion uses, just that it was more rundown. Even large cracks could be seen snaking the walls he passed, making it seem like the entire thing could collapse at anytime.
The disciples created beams and pillars from the nearby forest to support the palace’s ceiling, but there was only so much they could do.
Sol suddenly paused in his tracks.
Having thought of something, he floated to a cracked beam in the ceiling that was being support by a massive log.
Abdu then watched as Sol formed a hand seal and placed his palm on the beam. A rune appeared below his palm on the beam before disappearing.
Abdu closed his eyes seeming to understand what Sol was planning.
"I heard we only let the Runes and Formation Pavilion in on this because we couldn’t figure out how to activate the teleportation array ourselves."
"Yeah, but was it worth it? Even after this long they still haven’t made that thing work."
Sol was about to lower himself to the ground but paused when two disciples appeared, walking down the hall.
"Hey, do you think that Teleportation Array leads to some treasure?"
"Well, it was so hidden in this place so it must lead to some good fortune. However, you know that the array would have stayed hidden if not for that burst of Blade Intent the second Young Master sensed right? Well get this, the only reason he found the teleportation array in here was because it seem like it was activated before."
"What?! Is that true?"
"Yeah, Prince Mar-Dule even confirmed it. And you know what that means along with that burst of Blade Intent right? Someone might have discovered the teleportation array and obtained some fortune that was likely a treasured blade!"
"Hey, wouldn’t that just means we’re eating someone else’s scraps?"
"It’s better than nothing right?"
Sol lowered himself from the ceiling as the disciples passed.
He chuckled internal when he heard them.
No matter what they did they won’t be able to make the teleportation array work. If Sol wasn’t mistaken, Mar-Dule was the one in charge of the getting the teleportation to work.
Maybe if he had Cheonma as his Master he would have been able to. And even Ji-Hoon and the others were only able to activate the teleportation arrays because he was their Sect Leader.
’No doubt Master helped them with this plan. That old fart, did he planned for me to help them? If so what’s with him saying I should avoid them? He just does what he wants without telling me anything.’
Sol was finding himself getting angry at his Master more these days.
He had to find time after this to contact him and demand questions. Sol was going to reveal that he knew about him and then have him explain what he didn’t. No more secrets!
As Sol was thinking this, he watch these disciples disappeared around a corner before taking out a purple jade slip.
After a paused with this jade slip in his hand, Sol floated forward and looked down left hall.
He could faintly hear the disciples talking, but his destination was right. After floating down this dark hall, which was only illuminated by a few sparse luminescent pearls on the walls, Sol came upon two large doors.
Stopping in front of the door Sol formed a hand seal.
Behind these two doors was a large hall that had a dragon carved in the center of the floor. Maybe at first glance this didn’t look like teleportation array, but after closer inspection and drawing closer, one would be able to sense a strange aura from it.
It was spatial fluctuations, a sign that it was used before.
At two sides of the doors were two disciples who were standing there silently with closed eyes. They were from the Peng Clan as could be seen from the blades on their wasits.
Suddenly, a loud bang resounded out in the palace causing their eyes to fly open.
Without hesitation, they opened the doors and run out to see what caused that sound.
Sol floated by the side and watched them leave before entering the hall.
He made his Heavenly Samsara Formation enveloped the entire hall before sending a message in the purple jade slip.
Soon after, the dragon carving on the ground lit up and the figure of a disheveled youth appeared while clutching a blade that was wrapped up in pieces of his torn robes.
