The Growth of a Titan
Chapter 116- Doubts

Chapter 116: Chapter 116- Doubts

Sol froze at the jarring sight, and he took several unsteady steps back from the doorway.

"She was stabbed three times before having her neck slit from ear to ear. Now do you see why I don’t want to play this twisted game? No, I don’t even know if it’s a game at this point."

Sol understood what Yoon-Jae was trying to say.

If this was real, then he was actually seeing this. Someone had brutally murdered this little girl.

But who would do something like this?

What kind of monster would look at this little girl and think to kill her in such a gruesome way?

The little girl’s head was facing the doorway, so Sol had a clear view of her face.

It was still rosy red, and she had a stiff but warm smile on her lips. However, the contrast that has with her blank and lifeless blue eyes was something Sol found hard to stomach, so he had to look away.

But after a moment Sol composed himself then turned to Yoon-Jae.

"You said there were more bodies?"

Yoon-Jae nodded before pushing off the wall and walking further down the large hallway.

Sol followed him and soon came to a stop in front of a room with large double doors.

Sol didn’t wait for Yoon-Jae, and he pushed it open himself before entering.

It was a large room that had sunlight seeping in from the two large archways that showed the numerous pavilions outside.

Judging by the interior design of the room, it looked like the main bedroom of this entire Palace.

As Sol was looking around, the large bed in the room caught his attention.

He walked over and saw a beautiful woman that resembled the little girl, or rather the little girl resembled this woman.

Sol wanted to get closer, but a suppressive aura was around this woman, which was the same as Victim One, Two, and Three.

What Sol also noticed was that she and the little girl had golden blood as well.

"She has similar injuries as the little girl."

Sol noted and then added again.

"It also looks like the killer stab her from behind before she fell onto the bed where he finished the job."

As Sol analyzed the method of how the murderer killed this woman, Yoon-Jae could tell from his tone that his view of this situation had changed.

He sounded a lot more serious.

Sol continued to look around the room, examining anything that could be used as evidence to find out who the killer was.

As he did, he took notice of all the bookshelves inside the room.

He glanced at the spines of the books to see what type of books they were, and Sol read one title out loud.

"Militaristic Strategies of Immortal Deity Shen."

Sol was curious and he took up the book before flipping it open.

As Sol read the contents of the book, his eyes slowly began to widen in surprise.

"This-What is this book?"

"What did you find?"

Yoon-Jae walked over to him.

"This book... it contains information on how to create a loyal army and lead them to conquer a Realm."

"Huh? A Realm? Not a country or a Continent, but a Realm?"

"Yeah, but I don’t know how big a Realm is or understand most of what this person is saying. Look here, this line says for an Immortal Deity of the Planetary Level to start his or her conquest of a desired Realm, they first have to gain control over their own World Core. What cultivation realm is a Planetary Immortal Deity? And what’s a World Core?"

Sol shoved the book in Yoon-Jae’s face to see if he knew something.

Yoon-Jae took a step back and looked at the book, but quickly his face changed.

"I would love to see what you’re talking about, but this book is clearly blank."

"Huh? What do you mean? No, it’s not."

Sol looked at Yoon-Jae completely taken aback. He then glanced down at the book in his hands that was filled with words and then back up at Yoon-Jae with a puzzled expression.

Yoon-Jae frowned and then said.

"Somehow you’re able to read this book but I can’t."

"But why is that? How about this, can you read this one?"

Sol took up another book and turned to an open page to show Yoon-Jae.

When Yoon-Jae looked at it, he shook his head.

Sol’s brows furrowed.

"I’ll continue looking around this Palace to see if there is any way out."

"Ah, be careful Brother Yoon-Jae, the one who did this might still be in the Palace!"

Sol called out to Yoon-Jae who had already made his way to the door. But Yoon-Jae simply waved his hand over his head and said.

"If I die then you’ll need to avenge me."

Hearing that, Sol didn’t know what to think. He knew Yoon-Jae wasn’t saying that in a joking manner, he actually meant it.

For some reason, Yoon-Jae had a way of acting nonchalant, but he was quite emotional deep down. Sol could tell.

But he wondered why Yoon-Jae was like that.

Now that he thought about it, Sol didn’t know much about Yoon-Jae. He was curious, but perhaps now wasn’t the right time to ask him about his past.

Sol shelf these thoughts before he moved his focus back to these books.

He continued to read some of them even though he couldn’t understand a thing, but Sol soon had to stop because he was wasting precious time.

They only had less than a day to figure out who the killer is and escape this place.

Sol put back the book he was reading and took one last look at the shelves.

He knew that these books weren’t ordinary, they might not contain Martial Arts Techniques, but the information written in them was still interesting.

Sol wished he had his storage bag so he could collect all of them, but that was missing along with his bracelets.

He still felt them though.

As Sol was walking out of the room he glanced down at his wrists and touched them.

He couldn’t see them, but he could feel that his bracelets were still around his wrists and ankles.

That’s why as much as he wanted to believe Yoon-Jae when he said this place was real, Sol still doubted the validity of his words.

Sol also doubted him and his existence here too.
