Chapter 833: Auction 7.
As Alec approached the stone pillar, he used his body to block the crowd’s view.
Whispers and quiet conversations stirred as everyone waited for him to move aside, but Alec deliberately took his time.
Eventually, he stepped away, revealing five pill bottles neatly arranged on top of the pillar, staring back at the eager crowd.
“I’m glad to inform you all that we’ve reached the final round of today’s auction, and if you didn’t manage to acquire anything before the end of the auction, don’t worry there will be another opportunity in the next auction,” Alec said as he addressed the room once again.
“I won’t bore you with talk about what’s to come, instead, let me introduce the final items of the night.”
With that, Alec walked over to the spirit equipment set placed at the far right, the armour gleamed white with golden edges, seemingly lacking elemental affinity, but radiating a heavy flow of savage Qi.
Alec ran his left hand along the smooth surface of the armour, which included a helmet, chest piece, boots, and a massive two-handed axe that seem to clearly demand great strength from its future wielder.
As he traced his hand along the set, several mages in the crowd let out gasps, shivering at the thought of possessing such a powerful artifact. Their fantasies were no longer on the beautiful women standing at the side, but on the spirit equipment sets displayed before them.
“This spirit equipment set before you is called the Ivory Juggernaut Set,” Alec announced.
“And before you ask about the name, let me explain – it’s forged from the bones and body of a demonic beast known as the Ivory Elephant as the primary resources, hence its name.”
Gasps rippled through the crowd once again, the Ivory Elephant was a creature found only in the beast regions of the Central Kingdom, and its materials were renowned for their rarity and power.
There was no way anyone could get their hands on an Ivory Elephant in the Northern Kingdom, it was practically impossible.
Hearing that this equipment set had been forged from such a rare beast made the crowd even more frenzied, while the more composed individuals began to question how the Gordons had acquired such a creature.
Questions like : Were they connected to the Central Kingdom?, The more people tried to understand the Gordons, the more they felt like they were peeling back layers, only to find even more mysteries beneath, and the answer to that mystery was Alec had hunted this beast In the beast forest second level which house thousands of demonic beast and other mutation beasts even the residents of Northern Kingdom have never laid eyes on.
Once the crowd had absorbed the shock, Alec continued,
“As you all can see, this is a four-piece spirit equipment set, consisting of a helmet, armour, boots, and a two-handed battle axe, the helmet is called Juggernaut’s Ivory Crown, the armour Ivory Bastion Plate, the boots Pale Stomp Greaves, and the weapon Behemoth’s Fang.”
“I’m sure everyone here knows that when a full spirit equipment set is worn, it unlocks an additional augment effect, the Ivory Juggernaut Set comes with its own special abilities. It’s best suited for mages who rely heavily on strength in battle, as not only does it provide exceptional defence, it also ensures that its wielder is brimming with QI reserves to enhance the lethality of every strike.”
“And with that, I’ll end the description here, as I don’t intend to reveal too much just to sell such a magnificent piece, only its future owner will have the privilege of discovering all its fearsome attributes,” Alec concluded, cutting his explanation short.
Many in the crowd, already drooling at what they’d heard, were left frustrated, not because Alec had stopped talking, but because they knew they didn’t have the means to even compete for such a prize.
They had already seen how much the first spirit armour sold for and it was only a piece, and compared to this spirit equipment set, the earlier piece which was won by the black-cloaked mage—now seemed lacking.
“The starting bid for the Ivory Juggernaut Set is seventy Tier 6 corpses, and remember, if you wish, you may pay with higher-tier bodies, but lower-tier ones will not be accepted,” Alec announced.
Many lone and rogue mages, who had expected Alec’s usual modest starting bids, were caught off guard by the steep price he called out, but then again, this was no ordinary spirit equipment set.
Just as the shock began to ripple through the crowd, a voice broke the silence with a bid that settled everything.
“One hundred Tier 6 corpses,” declared the Patriarch of the Aegisborn Clan.
This time, unlike earlier, he had gone all in, making it clear he had never lacked the resources.
Many suddenly realized that perhaps he hadn’t dropped out of the previous rounds due to scarcity, but because he’d calculated the pills weren’t worth contending against the Lanzt or Darkbliss clans.
Some had assumed he was just a stingy man who backed out when prices rose beyond his valuation, but that assumption was shattered now, if he were truly stingy, would he have offered a hundred Tier 6 corpses so decisively?
“One hundred Tier 6 bodies, going once… going twice… sold to the Aegisborn Clan,” Alec’s voice echoed through the room, snapping the crowd from their thoughts.
They were still trying to decipher the Aegisborn Patriarch’s motives for bidding so high, only to realize with a jolt that one of the four Tier 6 equipment sets had just been taken, without even a single competitor.
“What’s really going on with these clans? Earlier, they were dead set on fighting for every new item, and now they just let the Aegisborn win without a fight,” someone in the crowd muttered.
“Maybe they know something we don’t,” another mage replied, answering the bewildered question with a thoughtful frown.
