The Golem Mage -
Chapter 699 - 699 Great Sword Affinity
699: Great Sword Affinity.
699: Great Sword Affinity.
The audience watched intently as the ten small, black slashes from Brandon’s sword soared toward the flaming Qi claw strikes unleashed by Soren.
When the two attacks collided, there was no explosion or dramatic display of power.
Instead, the black slashes transformed into ten miniature portals, swallowing the fiery claws as if they were being consumed by a black hole.
Soren’s eyes widened in confusion as his attack vanished without a trace, before he could comprehend what had occurred, he realized that Brandon had closed the distance between them.
While Soren had been anticipating an explosive clash of their attacks, Brandon had continued to use the opportunity to press forward without hesitation.
Seeing Brandon approaching rapidly, Soren decided to strike first, but just as he moved to close the gap, Brandon twisted his saber and thrust its hilt toward Soren’s face in an attempt to catch him off guard.
However, Soren didn’t fall for the feint, using his left hand, he seized the hilt with his dragon scaled hand, attempting to wrench it out of Brandon’s grasp.
But to Soren’s frustration, Brandon refused to relinquish his weapon, instead, Brandon infused his saber’s scabbard with Qi and launched it with his left hand, sending it hurtling straight into Soren’s midsection.
The impact knocked the wind out of Soren, who staggered back as the scabbard spun upward into the air.
‘What kind of monstrous strength is this?’ Soren thought, gritting his teeth as he silently thanked his dragon scales for mitigating the blow.
Even so, the sheer power behind Brandon’s attack unnerved him.
Seeing that Soren remained relentless on his grip, Brandon conjured a spell.
[> Mid-Tier Spell – Earth Fangs <]
Brandon’s hand became enveloped in a massive, jagged fang made of hardened earth as he struck toward Soren’s chest.
Sensing the danger, Soren released his grip on Brandon’s saber and retreated backwards, unwilling to endure another devastating blow from Brandon after how he felt being hit by the scabbard.
The earthen fang crashed into the ground where Soren had stood moments before, triggering a deafening explosion and leaving a crater in its wake.
Using the momentum of the strike to his advantage, Brandon launched himself into the air, somersaulting gracefully.
As he descended, his scabbard fell from above, perfectly aligning with his raised saber.
With a swift motion, he sheathed the blade mid-air.
[> Blade Style – Third Form – Return <]
Brandon extended two fingers from his right hand, mimicking a sword, and slashed through the air.
A sharp, black wave of sword Qi surged toward Soren, the attack swiftly closed the distance till it was too close for Soren to avoid, and he raised his arms in an X-shaped guard to protect himself.
The moment the black slash touched Soren, it expanded into a massive black hole, far larger than the previous portals Brandon had created.
Soren’s eyes trembled in fear as he realized he was facing a technique imbued with the space attributes, a power he was ill prepared to contend with.
Before Soren could react further, the ten flaming Qi claws he thought had been destroyed reappeared, now enhanced with even more potent energy like they were being fed mana wherever they were locked up before.
The claws shredded through his red dragon scales, leaving ten deep gashes across his body that took forever to heal, Soren staggered, struggling to comprehend how Brandon had orchestrated such a devastating attack.
“ Surrender or die!” Brandon declared coldly, his piercing gaze locked onto Soren.
Looking up, Soren realized that Brandon now wielded both his weapons, including the sword that had been wrapped and concealed earlier with the clothes wrapping around it.
The sight of this blade sent a wave of serenity over Soren, as though the sword itself radiated an aura meant to suppress his will to fight.
This newfound development left Soren shaken, he could feel that Brandon’s threat level had escalated significantly as he quickly took his eyes off the sword.
“You haven’t reached the level to threaten me yet,” Soren growled, summoning two swords from his space ring, as they blazed with flames after he summoned them
“Have it your way,” Brandon replied, unperturbed.
[> Blade Style – First Form – Blade Hurricane <]
Brandon didn’t hesitate any longer, with a decisive tap of his left foot, he surged forward, initiating his attack.
His left hand wielded the sword, striking first, followed swiftly by the saber in his right hand.
As he moved, the air around him shimmered with flashes of bluish and blood-red sword lights, the energy radiating from the Tranquility Sword and the Saber of Slaughter.
As each step seemed to heighten the intensity of his strikes.
[> Low Bloodline Spell – Dragon Aura <]
[> Mid Bloodline Skill – Dragon Tail Slash <]
Soren, realizing the threat, wasted no time retaliating, he activated two bloodline spells that seems to combine together, and a faint image of a red dragon materialized behind him.
As he swung his swords, the spectral dragon behind him mirrored his sword movements, as its massive tail lashing out with destructive force.
When Brandon saw the dragon apparition, he shifted his stance, he brought his two weapons together, fusing them into a colossal greatsword.
The distinct hues of the blue and red swords didn’t vanish; instead, they blended together, and a ghostly image of a greatsword appeared behind him, mirroring his intent.
“A weapon affinity?!” Lucas Blade exclaimed, astonished as he observed the phenomenon.
[> Blade Style + Sword Style – Tranquility Slaughter <]
Brandon completed his move, leaping up and raising the greatsword high before slashing downward from the air.
At the same time, Soren swung his swords upward in defiance.
What the crowd witnessed was something else different as they saw the huge great sword image wielded by deceptively slender hands descending with divine precision, aiming to vanquish the spectral dragon that was whipping its tail upward to cleave everything in its path.
Bang!
A deafening explosion rocked the battlefield, dust and debris erupted, shrouding the area in a thick cloud.
The stage beneath their feet cracked from the impact, and even the protective light shield trembled under the immense force of their clash.
The audience could only watch in tense silence, waiting for the dust to settle and reveal the outcome.
