Chapter 403: Just Give You Three Seconds
Chapter 403: Chapter 403: Just Give You Three Seconds
Night had fallen, the sea calm and tranquil, while the people aboard the cruise ship indulged in singing and dancing, having a terrific time.
Luo Ziyi, however, couldn’t find joy in any of it, for starting today, she could no longer return to the Luo family.
It wasn’t just that her grandfather couldn’t tolerate her, she herself no longer wanted to go back.
Being treated as merchandise to be sold off at the slightest provocation, if she returned to that home, it would only be to invite further humiliation.
She held no lingering affection for the Luo family, save for her parents whom she couldn’t let go of.
Her father, though also a snob, was after all the one who had brought her into this world and raised her.
Right now, she could only think about how to persuade them to leave the Luo family too, to spare them embarrassment.
Convincing her mother might be doable, but persuading her father was likely more difficult than reaching the heavens.
With her mind in a state of chaos, Luo Ziyi wanted to take a walk when Tu Sha, who had been sitting in meditation with his eyes closed, suddenly opened his eyes, "Don’t go outside, there are pirates out there."
Luo Ziyi was startled, "How do you know?"
"Isn’t this near the base of the Orochi Pirate Group?" Tu Sha said, "I heard you used to run a cruise line yourself, you can’t possibly be unaware, right?"
"Nakai Minami?" Luo Ziyi suddenly remembered the ponytailed female pirate, "She’s always been about doing things for money, she wouldn’t attack a cruise ship without reason. Besides, cruise ships usually pay protection money."
"Didn’t The Matriarch also take your protection money, and then what?" Tu Sha spread his hands, "Do you think everyone in the world keeps their promises like Yang Yu? Besides, paying protection money to the cruise line and The Matriarch paying pirates to capture you aren’t mutually exclusive. Do you think the cruise ship would resist the pirates to the end just for you?"
Luo Ziyi clenched her teeth and said nothing.
She wasn’t some naive girl new to worldly society; she had seen all sorts of people.
Indeed, people like Yang Yu were very rare.
It was only because Yang Yu himself was so powerful that anyone else behaving like him would have died countless times over.
"Alright, just stay here quietly." Tu Sha said, "Yang Yu is coming to get you."
"What?" Luo Ziyi’s eyes widened in shock, "How do you know?"
"He contacted me earlier." Tu Sha said, "The guy mentioned that The Matriarch might use the Orochi Pirate Group to intercept the cruise ship, so he took a helicopter right away to provide support."
"He really..." Luo Ziyi’s eyes were red-rimmed, her tears glistening slightly.
If it hadn’t been for her causing the death of his companion on the Luo family cruise ship, she speculated that they might have remained friends.
The death of Ah Zheng was like a huge chasm between them, one that would probably never fade in this lifetime.
However, Luo Ziyi couldn’t dare to hope for much; Yang Yu coming to her rescue was the greatest mercy heaven could bestow upon her.
"Bang bang bang bang..." The sound of fireworks erupted outside the ship, and Luo Ziyi stepped out of her room to see the distinct pattern of the Orochi snake etched across the sky.
"Indeed, they have come." Luo Ziyi took a deep breath and turned her gaze towards Tu Sha, "If Yang Yu can’t make it in time, and you can’t hold on, remember to kill me and escape on your own. I can’t bring myself to do it."
"Enough, stop talking nonsense." Tu Sha grunted, "Having been entrusted, loyalty demands our due diligence. If it really comes to death, it would be me dying before you."
Tu Sha looked at his watch, "There are about ten minutes left. Surviving for ten minutes definitely shouldn’t be a problem."
Luo Ziyi: "......"
The cruise ship came to a halt. The captain, a man in his fifties, stepped onto the deck and looked at the encircling Pirate fleets. He chuckled towards Nakai Minami, "Captain Nakai, our cruise has always paid on time. I don’t know why Captain Nakai would stop our ship?"
"Just stop the ship, we won’t touch it," said Nakai Minami, "Our commission was just to stop your ship, nothing more."
The captain immediately understood what was happening and asked cautiously, "Is it The Matriarch...?"
"Ask less. Even if you do, I won’t answer you," Nakai Minami stated, "Just wait obediently."
No sooner had Nakai Minami finished speaking than another cruise ship of similar tonnage approached from behind.
On the deck of that ship stood none other than the most prominent figure in the Southern Ocean—The Matriarch!
The Matriarch’s cruise ship drew up alongside Nakai Minami’s pirate vessel, her face full of anger, "Captain Nakai, I asked you to stop this cruise ship. Why did it take you so long to act, making me chase for over an hour!"
Nakai Minami spread her hands, "The Matriarch only asked for them to be stopped, but didn’t specify where or when. So I chose the most convenient place. This here is the Public Sea, close to my base. In case we ran into some tough ones, it would be easier for us to escape."
The Matriarch was so infuriated by Nakai Minami’s words that she was practically steaming from the ears, but indeed, she couldn’t really blame Nakai Minami for anything.
Being cautious as a pirate wasn’t in itself a problem. Everyone understood that.
The Matriarch turned to face the Captain of the cruise ship and said in a deep voice, "Captain Wu Hao, my son died on your cruise ship, and you just sailed away. Do you not take me seriously?"
"I regret the death of Young Master Johnny," Captain Wu Hao sighed, "But our family business is just that—a business. We aren’t involved in worldly society feuds."
"Not involved?" The Matriarch sneered, "So what you mean to say is, you would just stand by and let the murderer of my son leave without lifting a finger?"
"What, should we use all our power to stop the person?" Wu Hao retorted, "Anyone capable of killing Young Master Wu Hao could easily wipe us out too. If our people got killed, The Matriarch would probably think it served us right and might not even offer a word of consolation, right?"
Wu Hao saw through the situation clearly, and his words left The Matriarch unable to argue: "Fine, you’re right. Now that I’ve caught up, can you let the unrelated tourists leave your cruise ship and come to mine, so they don’t get harmed accidentally?"
Wu Hao was very angry, "Are you trying to turn our family’s cruise ship into your battlefield?"
The Matriarch sneered, "Haha, well, if that bitch and her man are willing to leave your cruise ship, I don’t mind really..."
"I’m here just for that." Tu Sha stepped forward, his face expressionless as he looked at The Matriarch, "I’ll go to your ship. If I can leave alive, it means you are already dead."
"If I can’t leave alive, then Miss Luo Ziyi is yours to do with as you please."
"So it was you who killed my son?" The eyes of The Matriarch narrowed slightly, a dangerous feeling welling up within her. "Who are you? I’ve never heard of the Luo family having such a capable bodyguard!"
"That’s not important. What is important is whether you choose to let me leave or to fight it out with me," Tu Sha slowly said, "I’m giving you three seconds to decide. Three, two, one!"
