The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers -
Chapter 41: maybe we can be friends
Chapter 41: maybe we can be friends
This was going to be a whole new experience for Violet, she’s never sat a table with a wolf or a wizard or a witch. But here she was, sitting with a different member of each night clan.
"I am going to pass out these sheets, and I expect you to answer them with what you learn for each other." Luhta-Elen said.
"I can’t believe I’m being expected to learn about a fucking vampires life", the wolf girl growled under her breath.
"Lesson number one, wolf girl, Vampires have as good of hearing as wolves. I’m a pure blood so mines much better than yours." Oliver retorted.
"How do you clean your fur, like what products do you use, if members of your clan have curly hair, do they have curly fur too? Is your hair different from your fur?" Violet vomited so many questions, the wolf girl was overwhelmed.
"Why do you care?" Was her answer.
"Well it says ask about their difference in appearance." Violet said timidly.
"Oh, no, our fur is different from our hair. We wash in natural hot springs if our wolf form is dirty. The water has to be fro the earth and hot to clean anything off our fur. And wolves with curly hair actually tend to have thicker shorter fur." The wolf girl answered, nicely.
Violet was smiling and it seemed to make the wolf girl less aggressive.
"What about you, you’re human right? With like, the blood of purebloods? Are you immortal, or have speed and need blood?"
Violet was surprised, but not as surprised as Oliver, his jaw slacked slightly and Violet grinned ear to ear.
"Yes, that’s right. I’m not immortal, but I’ll live longer than most humans, my lifespan might be like yours. I’ll live a long life. I don’t need blood, I eat regular food like you, I’m faster than the fastest human but I’m no where near you or a vampires speed. I don’t have super strength, like I can’t lift a car, but when I did cheerleading with a friend, holding up my teammate was pretty effortless." Violet answered. Oliver didn’t know any of those things.
"So you think if we raced, you could beat me." Asked the wizard.
"Yeah." Violet said without hesitation.
"I feel like that’s bullshit, you’re not supposed to lie." The wizard boy said.
"She could beat you, if she says she can, she can." Oliver answered "She said the same thing about gaming. And she beat me. Badly."
Violet’s face turned red. Feeling embarrassed by her natural skill. The whole table looked at them.
"I’m Ursula, I’m a member of the Blackbay wolf pack. I’m the beta’s youngest sister." The wolf girl introduced herself first. Ursula had short red hair with soft beach waves. Her eyes were large and silver. She was beautiful.
"I’m Arya, I’m just a witch, no special title. Both my parents use magic. Not like a pure blood witch or anything, just a regular one." Arya was blonde her hair was in a ponytail, had a lot of black on her, she had a black spider shaped purse, a black bow, her long socks were black, despite her dark exterior she had a real chipper tone about her.
"Roland, I’m wizard. That’s it." Roland offered no more information than that, making him seem pretty unapproachable.
"Well you seem like a really mysterious guy, how interesting." Oliver said leaning towards the wizard sitting to his right.
"Don’t be weird." Roland said.
Violet giggled some. ’This wasn’t so bad’ she thought.
The table conversed the rest of class. Some of the tables became friends quickly other tables, were probably gonna fail the class.
Things where so much better, Violet was feeling so grateful for this new professor, she might no have ever gotten the chance to meet them. Violet really hoped they’d be interested in being her friend.
It was lunchtime and Violet was starving, she hoped lunch would be spaghetti, it was
Monday, and if the school was going to serve spaghetti, it would be on a Monday.
Standing at the entrance to the cafeteria, Oliver and Violet waited for Ash, Rosa and Jeremy.
"I can’t believe we sat with a wolf and a witch!" Violet was so ecstatic to have finally spoken to a wolf that didn’t want to hurt her. To have maybe even made some friends.
"Yeah that professors pretty bold. But I guess something that can’t actually die and isn’t of this world wouldn’t be afraid to be bold." Oliver answered.
"Hey." Ash said walking up to them with his hands in his pockets. "Heard you guys have a new professor."
"Yeah! She’s an elemental, and I can’t believe how cool she is." Violet said gleaming with pride for having a professor like her.
Rosa walks up with Jeremy beside her!
"Woah, never thought I’d see that." Oliver said nudging Violet.
"I know! Kinda crazy right?" Violet said nudging him back.
"Well she is pretty hot, can’t blame him really. Exotic Latina, who wouldn’t wanna try?"
Violet slams her elbow into Olivers stomach. "Don’t be gross."
Oliver chuckled "Okay, Okay, sorry."
"Yes Violet, it’s spaghetti" Jeremy said when he approached.
"Yes!" Violet turned and dashed inside leaving the four of them behind.
"Well better catch up to her, before she gets in trouble." Oliver said shooing Ash
away.
"Whatever." He said and ran jogged after her.
"Well, well, why are you two walking together?" Oliver asked raising both his eyebrows
at them.
"Just walking, Oliver, cool it." Jeremy said with no emotion.
Rosa’s face was a little red as she looked away. Oliver catching on, didn’t push it. Rosa looks like she can handle Jeremy. Oliver thinks.
"Let’s catch up to them before Violet takes all the spaghetti," Oliver said.
Ash had walked up behind Violet, putting his hand on the top of her head.
"Hey, You know you shouldn’t run off like that." His deep voice sent shivers down Violet’s spine.
"Sorry, I forgot, I was just so excited." Violet said.
"I just don’t know what I’d do if something ever happened to you." Ash’s confession made the butterflies in her stomach flutter relentlessly. She felt dizzy. Her heart was pounding. Every time he says things like that she almost melts into a puddle of goop.
Ash’s heart was beating so hard. He was struggling to swallow. What was it with her that made him lose his mind and say dumb things. What was he thinking saying things like that.
"I feel the same. I don’t think I could live in a world you don’t exist in." The words just fell from her mouth without even thinking.
Ash lost himself for a moment, lost in her sentiment. She was the only person to ever really show him love, try and convince him he’s loved. She did it naturally, she was a being of pure goodness. None of the brothers really deserved her. Ash was realizing this more and more everyday. She’s not a play thing, shes a girl, a friend, and a lover.
Violet couldn’t believe she said those words aloud in front of half the student body, while standing in line. If Violet could disappear and hide she would.
"Is spaghetti you’re favorite food?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, I heard my mom made a mean spaghetti and she ate it her whole pregnancy cause it was her biggest craving. So Yeah it’s always been that way." Violet laughed at the thought.
"Mines tuna sushi roll." Ash said.
"Really sushi? Want to go get some the next time it’s a nice cloudy day?" Violet asked.
"Yeah, you like sushi?" Ash asked.
"I love sushi! The rainbow roll is my favorite." Violet answered
"It’s a date." Ash said rather confidently. It’s weird how asking her on a date made him nervous. They’ve had sex and sleep in the same bed. Why did a date make him
nervous?
"Why is this line feeling so long today?" Violet was getting really impatient waiting for her plate of spaghetti.
"I can just have us cut in line. You don’t have to stand and wait." Ash suggested.
"No, no, no, I don’t like cheating, I’ll wait my turn, I’m just feeling impatient, I’m excited." Violet answered cheerfully.
"Well, you don’t have too, but whatever."
After waiting her turn in line they both finally get their spaghetti and head to their table. Rosa, Jeremy, and Oliver were waiting for them.
"Why didn’t you guys go get in line?" Violet asked.
"I’ll wait till it dies down. I don’t like standing up there for so long, plus I only want dessert." Rosa answered.
"I didn’t want to miss anything." Oliver said shrugging his shoulders. Jeremy said
nothing.
Enjoying their lunch Jeremy and Rosa head to the counter to get their lunches once the line was close to ended.
The wolf girl, Ursula, walks up. "I know this is weird, but can I sit with you? My friends and I aren’t seeing eye to eye about some things and I don’t want to sit with them right now."
Behind her, Arya poked her head out. "Hi, I’m gonna sit here anyways. It’s a free country, andddddd I don’t care about the rules of your petty squabbles, it affects me null."
Ash’s jaw dropped and his brows furrowed. Was this a wolf? Asking to sit at a table with the princes of vampires? In public? What the hell? Is the world going crazy? Why was a wolf asking?
Ursula and Arya take seats across from Ash and Violet. Just as they sit down; Jeremy comes up to the table with a frown.
"Who are you and why is a wolf bitch sitting at our table?" Jeremy was glaring and looked to also be snarling?
Ursula growls and shows her teeth some.
"Jeremy stop. That’s Ursula and Arya, their me and Olivers group partners for the class with our new professor." Violet stood up and slammed her hands on the table. "Now don’t be rude and make me look bad in front of my new friends or I won’t listen to your concerto tomorrow tonight! So help me Jeremy I’m serious." And Violet starred Jeremy down her face looking as fierce as a panda.
It seems everyone was making changes around Violet, even Violet herself. She was
becoming more outspoken and fierce.
"Okay Violet, I see you girl." Rosa said applauding Violet’s new found confidence "Wolf girl sit, Jeremy’s mostly bark, it’s Ash that bites."
Oliver burst out laughing at the way Rosa described his brothers. "Damn, Rosa you nailed it. You’re bold girl."
"Thanks" Ursula said.
"Hi! I’m Arya, witch, and pink’s my favorite color." Arya said.
Rosa laughed and looked at Violet, "You remind me of someone. She’s just like you, except you had 7 cups of coffee."
Everyone at the table laughed.
"Ursula, my dad’s the Beta of the Blackbay Pack." She waved her hand once.
"Blackbay? Why are you this far south?" Ash asked.
"My mom’s from the Crystalbay Pack..." Ursula said with a lower voice.
The three prince’s growled. Crystalbay pack is the one that murdered Jeremy and Riley’s
mother..
"Why are you guys acting like that." Violet was shocked to see such a change in mood at the table.
Ursula lowered her head.
"My mothers a conniving bitch and she’s trying to force me to marry her packs beta, I don’t want too." Ursula’s head hung low as she knew what that clan had done to the prince’s family.
"You shouldn’t be forced to pay for the sins of others especially those you’ve never even met. And I’m sorry about your forced marriage. I understand better than anyone." Violet wanted to reassure her. But the brothers weren’t convinced yet.
"How do we know you’re telling the truth?" Ash asked.
"I’m over here instead of over there aren’t I?" Ursula said. "They don’t like how friendly I was with a purebloods. I didn’t think it was a big deal, Blackbay we don’t have issues with the vampires there. They don’t care about us and we don’t care about them. We aren’t enemies we just don’t really mingle."
Ursula’s face turned dark, "They told me what their previous alpha did and how it ended the truce and how things walked a fine line here, and I heard how they felt I got up and walked away. Arya followed me and here we are. You don’t have to believe me, I don’t need your faith, or friendship. I like her, she’s nice."
"Fuck you get lost."
