The Forsaken Heir's Ascension
Chapter 83: The Fall of the Thunder God

Chapter 83: The Fall of the Thunder God

The light expanded, enveloping both man and beast in a glowing sphere.

They vanished.

CLANG!

The tridents slammed into the golden floor, too late.

Across the chamber—

Alex and Hati reappeared in a distant corner, wrapped in shimmering purple essence.

The statues turned slowly.

This time—

They weren’t amused.

Their eyes glowed brighter, menacing now. Cold. Murderous.

Alex gasped, blinking rapidly. "Why... why am I not dead?

Alex stared at Hati, wide-eyed. Purple light swirled around the beast, cracking the very fabric of space. His shimmering fur glowed with power, and a brilliant purple flame danced in his eye.

A smile crept onto Alex’s face. "So... you finally awakened your element," he said warmly.

But there was no time to celebrate. Statues with murderous, yellow-glowing eyes approached from every direction, their footsteps rumbling like a death march.

As they drew near—

Flash!

Purple light blinked—just for a second—and suddenly, Alex and Hati were beside their own severed limbs.

Alex looked around the devastated chamber and muttered sarcastically, "Yep... we’re still here."

His gaze shifted to Hati, whose breaths came ragged. Though his stance remained defiant, blood stained his fur a deep crimson. His body trembled. He was nearing his limit.

Alex dragged himself across the rubble-strewn floor toward his severed arm. Clenching the spatial ring between his teeth, he tapped it with the tip of his nearby spear. With a flicker of elemental energy, the weapon vanished into storage.

Then, gritting his teeth, he crawled to Hati’s side.

He leaned against him, resting his head on the beast’s bloodied back. Channelling what remained of his strength, Alex let the Wood Element flow from his body into Hati’s. A soft green glow emerged, spreading warmth as it closed wounds and stopped the bleeding.

Hati’s breathing steadied. His eyes flickered with light again.

But footsteps neared—statues, intact and relentless, were charging straight at them.

Alex’s eyes were heavy. The world blurred. "Get us out of this chamber..." he whispered, his voice almost lost to the wind.

"Woof" bark of Hati echoed behind --- as they vanished.

In a small chamber-like room, obsidian-black walls surrounded a pool filled with shimmering blue liquid. Above it, blue lightning crackled like caged fury. Near the pool stood a raised platform, and atop it perched a small eagle—no larger than an arm—formed entirely of living lightning.

A flash of purple light burst in the corner of the chamber.

From it, a wounded wolf and an armless young man collapsed onto the floor.

Alex didn’t waste a second.

"Hati," he gasped, voice strained, "Help me. There’s a golden fruit from the Mother Tree in my spatial ring. Help me eat it first—then you eat it too."

He clenched his father’s ring between his teeth, circulating his elemental energy. Two golden fruits shimmered into existence—pulsing with life, glowing with healing essence.

Alex quickly stashed the ring back under his tongue.

Hati picked one up gently with his mouth and shoved it into Alex’s. Then he took the other for himself, chewing it whole.

Alex chewed slowly, bite by bite.

Golden-green light burst around them, encasing them in glowing cocoons of energy. The light pulsed with pure vitality, mending flesh, knitting bones, and reigniting life.

The Thunder Eagle screeched, circling around the barrier. Lightning crackled against the cocoon but couldn’t penetrate it.

When the light finally faded, Hati sprang to his feet, whole again. His legs—restored and strong—moved with joy as he ran in circles, barking happily.

Alex looked at his own hands, his smile stretching wide. "I knew it would work," he whispered.

Above, thunder rumbled ominously.

They turned to see the small eagle of lightning glaring at them, crackling with fury. Its presence no longer felt majestic—but menacing.

Alex narrowed his eyes. "Another fucking eagle."

"Woof," Hati agreed, deadpan.

Alex straightened his spear, his voice cold. "Let’s kill it. I don’t trust Eagles."

"Woof! WOOF!" Hati barked in strong agreement.

Then the room boomed with a voice like thunder:

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, YOU HEATHENS!?"

"DO YOU NOT KNOW IN WHOSE PRESENCE YOU STAND?"

"I AM THE ONE AND ONLY—THE GREATEST THUNDER GOD!"

Alex’s eyes flared with murder. "So it was you—the lightning chicken torturing us in this cursed tower?"

"YOU SHOULD BE HONORED!" the voice thundered. "YOU WERE CHOSEN AS SACRIFICES TO BRING ABOUT MY REVIVAL!"

Each word only fuelled Alex’s fury.

He lunged.

Shadow daggers formed around him, laced with dark element and infused with poison. His ultimate attack.

The spear flew like a comet, piercing the eagle midair.

A beat later, the shadow daggers struck, skewering the chicken sized lightning Eagle.

The eagle shrieked.

"YOU HEATHENS! DO YOU THINK SUCH PITIFUL ATTACKS CAN KILL ME? I AM IMMORTAL! I AM THUNDER REINCARNA—"

The voice stopped.

The eagle looked down at itself. The black poison was spreading from the wounds like ink in water, corroding its very essence.

"YOU FILTH! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"

It panicked, diving into the pool to restore its power—but the blue liquid turned dark.

Its screams echoed:

"WHAT IS THIS!? HOW CAN SUCH POWER EXIST IN A SLAVE!? THIS—THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!"

Then its glowing eyes widened in terror.

"RED SNAKE...? YOU HAVE THE RED SNAKE’S POISON!? NO... NO ONE SHOULD HAVE THAT POWER! NO! NOOOOO—"

The eagle’s voice cracked, twisted in agony, and then vanished into nothing.

The pool stilled.

The blue lightning was gone.

The shimmering liquid had turned to pitch black with black lightning crackling around it.

Alex looked at Hati and smiled.

"That felt good," he said softly.

Hati nodded and sat down beside him, panting from the pain and exhaustion they had both endured.

Alex ran a hand gently through Hati’s fur, his fingers trembling slightly, a sad smile curving his lips.

Suddenly, a voice echoed from deep within his mind—calm, unfamiliar, and commanding:

"Go in the pool."

Alex flinched, eyes wide.

"WHAT?!" he shouted.

Hati tilted his head, confused, watching Alex closely.

Alex stood and approached the strange pool hesitantly. He dipped a finger into the surface of the liquid. A warm, soothing sensation spread instantly through his entire body.

The comfort was so overwhelming that he stepped in without thinking.

The moment he entered, power surged across his skin like a gentle current. His fatigue melted away, replaced by an invigorating warmth.

But as the liquid was absorbed into his body, a sharp, pricking sensation began to ripple across his skin. Then, as the energy reached his bloodstream, it started to circulate with his blood—

—and that’s when the pain began.

Alex clenched his teeth.

What’s going on? Why is the pain increasing?

Panic rising, he tried to get out of the pool.

But the same voice returned, louder this time:

"Do not get out. You’ll lose all the power."

"What? What the hell? Who are you?!" he shouted into the chamber.

No answer came.

Frustrated and afraid, Alex sank back into the pool and crossed his legs. He had no choice.

The energy within him raged. It began tearing apart his cells—only to rebuild them stronger. Black lightning sparked through his veins, coiling like serpents as it tried to merge with his very being.

The agony was unbearable. His screams echoed through the stone walls.

"AARGHHHHHHH!"

Hati jumped up, ears pinned back in worry. He paced along the pool’s edge, whining anxiously.

As he prepared to leap in, Alex’s blood-red eyes snapped open.

With a raspy voice, he uttered one word:

"Don’t."

Hati froze mid-step, and sat by the pool’s edge—restless, worried, watching helplessly.

Black lightning slithered around Alex’s body, hissing as it reshaped him.

Meanwhile, far away...

Deep beneath the Academy, in a hidden underground chamber, a dim, dark-blue glow lit up the darkness.

A bald figure stood in the faint light.

On a raised pedestal, a red dragon-shaped shadow emerged from a glowing blue stone.

A grinding, ancient voice rumbled from the darkness, disappointment thick in its tone:

"You failed."

Jasper stepped forward, his expression calm.

"I did not. The tower failed."

The dragon-shadow snarled, smoke curling from its nostrils.

"No. You failed.

We lost the Thunder God to the void.

There is no turning back now."

Jasper’s eyes widened.

"I asked the students who returned. None of them encountered the Thunder God."

The red shadow grinned, baring jagged, spectral fangs.

"Then someone did.

Someone killed the Immortal One—something not even the Ten Great Sages could achieve.

Who is this person?"

Jasper fell silent, deep in thought.

The dragon growled louder, voice shaking the chamber:

"Have you forgotten your promise?"

Anger flashed in Jasper’s eyes.

"I haven’t. I want the return of the Mythical Gods. I want to restore balance—where all will be slaves; commoners, and nobles equal."

The dragon’s voice thundered:

"Then do your work properly."

With that, the shadow vanished.

The dark-blue stone shattered.

Jasper’s eyes became glazed as a distant memory surfaced. His village was burning—screams and chaos echoed everywhere. The scene shifted. He was running toward his home. When he arrived, he stopped before two bodies hanging from spikes—one small and one large.

In a dark chamber, an angry voice declared:"I will ruin the nobles. I will destroy their rules."
