The Forsaken Heir's Ascension
Chapter 101: Seraph’s Wrath: Rise of the Forbidden Flame

Chapter 101: Seraph’s Wrath: Rise of the Forbidden Flame

Without a word, the two women stood and departed, their faces emotionless.

Vireya emerged from the basement, the air thick with tension, Serene following closely behind. Moonlight filtered through the mist as her pale feet touched the grass for the first time in over a decade. Without a word, she strode toward the castle’s tallest spire.

Boom!

Two figures landed before them, creating a shockwave that rippled across the courtyard.

Their bodies were poised like predators.

Serene froze.

Vireya’s eyes widened.

Together, they cried out:

"Mother! Grandma!"

Serene’s face lit up with disbelief and hope. "They’re alive, Sister!" she cried, stepping forward.

But Vireya’s arm shot out, halting her.

Her voice dropped, filled with dread. "Taboo... He did a taboo."

Serene turned to her, desperate. "But they’re alive!"

Vireya’s expression hardened, her tone dark and foreboding. "No, Serene. Look at their eyes... They’re hollow. They’re enslaved. He used the forbidden ritual. Turned them into obedient shells. He’s not our father... he’s a devil. A traitor to all of humanity."

Serene stumbled back, trembling, tears falling like silent rain. "No... it can’t be. He’s our father..."

Vireya’s voice roared like thunder. "Apparently not!"

Boom!

The two women attacked—lightning-quick.

Their fingers, transformed into razor-sharp nails, aimed for their daughters’ throats.

Vireya shifted her body sideways, dodging the strike with surgical precision. In one fluid motion, her fist rocketed forward, slamming into her mother’s gut.

BOOM!

A shockwave burst out from the woman’s back. She staggered, blood seeping from her mouth—but remained standing.

On the other side, Serene barely dodged her grandmother’s slash. The nails tore through her dress—but her skin, remained unscathed.

She landed a few meters back, her pupils narrowed to emerald slits, glowing with power.

The possessed women didn’t speak. Their bodies moved with unholy synchronicity, kneeling and clasping each other’s hands.

Vireya screamed, voice cracking under desperation.

"No! Don’t do that! Mother, Grandma—please, come to your senses!"

Above, the sadistic man who called himself their father stood naked by the grand arched window, a twisted smile stretched across his face as he enjoyed the chaos below.

Serene stumbled back, her body shaking.

"Big sister... w-what are they doing?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Vireya.

Vireya’s voice broke, filled with panic and sorrow.

"Run, Serene! They’re using the Seraph Taboo... They’re burning their life essence!"

Serene’s eyes widened in horror.

And yet... her voice didn’t waver.

"I won’t leave you, Big Sister," Serene said, tears now spilling freely. "I will never—never abandon you."

"Leave!" Vireya screamed, her voice fierce and trembling. "I can’t stop this!"

A monstrous presence loomed.

From the ritual’s heart, a feathered serpent began to form—colossal, divine and terrifying.

It coiled in the sky, its body made of sickly emerald scales veined with deathly white feathers.

The serpent’s eyes opened—emerald slits that pulsed with unknown power.

It twisted its enormous body as though the heavens themselves bowed to it.

Then it looked down.

Right at Vireya.

Vireya’s legs buckled.

She fell to one knee, trembling.

Her voice cracked as she shouted through the rising pressure,

"Serene, GO! Tell my son—tell him everything! Tell him the truth!"

With the last of her strength, she stood, aura flaring in defiance.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Her battle cry echoed across the cursed land.

Serene stood frozen for a second, tears flowing like rivers.

Then she stepped back, the crushing pressure on her chest beginning to ease.

Her lips trembled as she whispered,

"Please live, Sister... please... live."

Serene turned and ran—her heart pounding with each step—toward the glowing teleportation circle.

Behind her, Vireya stood tall, with a smile she looked up at the monstrous emerald flying serpent slithering through the sky, and whispered:

"I have an ally too. He’s weak now... but he is your father. Let’s see how you face him."

Her aura ignited.

From the depths of her heart, a red serpent surged forth—formed of pure aura, radiating wrath and love.

The red serpent roared into the heavens like a dragon defying the heavens.

ROARRRRRR!

The green serpent—towering and proud—hesitated.

Its emerald slit eyes flickered with confusion... then rage.

It lunged, hurtling toward the red serpent like a defiant son challenging his father.

Vireya dropped to her knees.

Blood spilled freely from her eyes. Her body trembled.

"I’m still too weak..." she whispered, voice breaking.

"Anna... Jack... I’m sorry."

As if hearing Mother’s sorrow, the red serpent flared, burning with Father’s wrath.

The two serpents collided in the sky—a titanic clash.

The green serpent opened its maw, jaws wide, trying to consume the red one.

But the red serpent did not yield.

Its aura blazed like a dying sun, and it began to devour the emerald serpent—like a father taking back the power he once gave.

The green serpent screamed, its roar of resistance shaking the air.

It vanished—devoured.

The red serpent descended... and dissolved back into Vireya’s kneeling form.

She gave a final smile, whispering:

"Thanks..."

Then she collapsed—face first into the grass.

Academy Tower – Teleportation Room

With a flash of light, Serene emerged, stumbling out of the teleportation circle. Her strength gave out, and she fell to her knees, tears streaming as sobs wracked her body.

She cried.

A few moments passed before guards rushed toward her, alarmed by the sight.

"Miss Seraph," one of them asked gently, "Do you need help?"

Serene heard their voices and wiped her tears with the back of her hand.

She stood slowly, shoulders trembling but straightening, and shook her head.

"No... I’m fine."

Without another word, she walked past them.

As she walked back to her dorm room, a figure stepped out of the shadows—her trusted guard, clad in black from head to toe, only his eyes visible.

He knelt before her.

"Are you okay, Princess?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.

Serene sat down in a chair, her face calm, revealing no cracks in her composure. "I am."

She paused, then added, her voice colder, sharper—dangerous:

"Tell me. What should I do?"

The guard hesitated. "What... what do you mean, Princess?"

Her eyes gleamed with fury. "Don’t pretend. You’ve been my guardian since childhood. Your life is mine to take. Don’t lie to me."

The man trembled and fell prostrate.

Silence stretched, heavy and suffocating.

Finally, in a whisper: "I... I was there, Princess. But I—I would have died had I intervened. Even a little."

"I know," Serene snapped. "Answer the question."

"I think... you should tell Young Master Alex. And... rescue the Eldest Princess."

Serene nodded slowly. "The council won’t help us."

A shadow crossed her face. "But... Alex. Will he even listen to me?"

She stood, still deep in thought. "Go. Keep watch on my sister. He won’t kill her. He needs her... for his experiments."

The guard vanished into the shadows.

Serene closed her eyes. "So that’s why he kept her there..."

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Far away, unaware of his mother’s fate, Alex slept peacefully, the moonlight casting a gentle glow across his face—as if singing him a lullaby.

But—

"Arghhhhh!"

A scream tore through the silence.

Alex jolted upright, sweat soaking his clothes, his eyes wide as he scanned the dark room.

Hati, his loyal companion, looked up from the foot of the bed, ears perked.

"Woof?" he barked softly, concerned.

Alex’s voice trembled. "I... I think I heard my little sister scream."

A tear slid down his cheek. "She was calling for help... calling for me."

He stood up and opened the window. Cold, salty wind rushed in from the sea below, crashing against the rocks in rhythmic fury.

Leaning on the window frame, eyes fixed on the violent waves, he whispered,

"Go to sleep, Hati."

Understanding, the dog curled up again, silent.

Alex remained there, the icy wind brushing against his face.

The sea roared below, wild.

And somehow, its chaos comforted him.

Alex stood at the window until the sun finally peeked over the horizon, casting golden light across the sea.

Only then did he realize morning had arrived.

He stepped back, walked to the bathroom, and after a quick wash, dressed in a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

As he approached the bed, he saw Hati still curled up, sleeping soundly.

With a small chuckle, Alex muttered,

"I should thank Teacher Emilia again. She gave me new clothes without saying a word."

Then, standing beside the bed, he raised his voice playfully.

"Hati! Wake up! You’ve gotten even lazier since awakening your power. Is this your new form of cultivation?"

Hati grumbled awake at the sound of his partner’s nagging, stretched his legs, then trotted off to the washroom.

A few minutes later, he returned and looked at Alex with his mismatched grey and purple eyes—a silent but clear message: I’m ready for food, human. Get moving.

Alex stared at him in disbelief.

"I still can’t believe you know how to use the washroom."

Hati puffed out his chest proudly.

"Woof!"

Alex laughed as he opened the door.

"Yes, yes—you’re the Great Wolf."
