Chapter 26 - 25 - Student Ranking

Chapter 26: Chapter 25 - Student Ranking

A day had passed since Caliste had gone to the library.

Today was a completely different day; it was time for all students to go through a new test to assess their abilities.

This test would be able to pinpoint their mana level and purity. It would also be able to determine the potential of every student. It had been used before, but officials wanted to administer this test again today.

They decided to do this for a very simple reason: they needed to classify the students into their respective classes.

At the Demonic Academy, the classes aren’t random. They are decided based on the strength of the students. The classes are then given letters: A, B, C, etc., from the strongest to the weakest class.

Everyone was currently gathered in the massive gymnasium, patiently waiting as the device on the stage awaited them.

Most students were stressed. After all, this test would most likely determine how they would be treated inside the Academy.

The higher one ranked, the better the resources they would have access to.

"I hope I can get into the B-Rank Class!" a student said to his friends, his legs shaking slightly.

"Same... If I get into the C-Rank Class, then my future in this school is doomed. My parents might even never talk to me again."

"...Why are you all aiming so low? We’re all going to get into the A Class without any problems. In the first test, all of us were ranked into the A Class. Only a few weeks went by; there’s no way everyone else improved so drastically."

They nodded; however, they couldn’t help but stare in one direction: Caliste.

He was currently sitting, minding his business.

However, he could feel more and more eyes from nearby students landing on him. They were definitely worried about the stats that he would be obtaining.

They had all seen how he had beaten up Fleur.

Surprisingly, Fleur was currently sitting next to him, talking to him with a smile. She didn’t seem affected in the least by the fight she had lost.

"Do you think he could already be taking the place of one of the Legendary Seats?" another student whispered.

"In his first year?" one of them burst out laughing. "No way. The Legendary Seats are only given to the five strongest students in all of the Academy. All of them are fourth years who are about to graduate. There’s no way a first year can ever win against one of them."

"What about... Liana? She became one in her second year. Everyone thought she was crazy when she tried to become one. But ever since then, she kept her spot over everyone else."

All of them began shaking their heads.

"Liana is a different case."

They all agreed with that statement.

She was a one-of-a-kind talent. No one had ever seen someone so talented in years.

Some even said that her talent rivaled that of the fallen hero, Caliste. A man who was said to wield every single weapon. A man who was said to have perfect control over his mana.

However, those were only legends; the only people remaining from that era were either dead or Kings and Queens.

And never once in 100 years had they talked about Caliste.

He was only spoken of as a traitor, someone who didn’t deserve the slightest attention.

"There’s no way he’ll even come close to her."

"I guess we will see about that."

A woman walked onto the stage. She was wearing a tight secretary uniform highlighting her body perfectly, her breasts perky and her figure accentuated just right.

Most male students had difficulty concentrating on her appearance. However, they still managed to understand the words coming out of her mouth.

"Welcome, everyone. It is now time to test your abilities and make the official ranking for First Years."

"Once I call your name, please walk up to the stage and stand in the middle of this circle while placing your hand on the mana crystal before you. As you do so, we will be able to determine your overall ranking."

Everyone stayed silent as they nodded.

While the secretary was on the stage, everyone could see the professors standing in the front row. All of them, without exception, were waiting patiently for the talents to come onto the stage.

The reason for their presence was simple.

Each of them would be able to obtain a single disciple whom they would be able to help throughout the year.

Everyone knew who they were looking for: either Caliste or Fleur. However, even then, with so many professors, other students still had a chance.

"Now, without further ado, I call to the stage Fleur Champlin, granddaughter of the great Luther Champlin, one of the Heroes of the past Century!"

Everyone was stunned as Fleur stood up and elegantly walked to the stage as delicately as a flower. She exuded such confidence that it was hard for anyone to deny her strength. Her beauty was also on another level. She was probably the most beautiful first-year out of everyone inside the Academy.

Fleur got onto the stage as all the professors locked eyes on her. They were all patiently waiting for the results before making their offers.

She placed her hand onto the mana crystal, and it began brimming with light, blinding most of the gymnasium because of how dense her mana purity was.

Even the secretary was stunned by the quantity and purity of the mana.

"A-Amazing..."

She could barely believe her eyes as she looked at the tablet in her hands.

The result was unbelievable.

’I-Is she really a first year?’ the secretary thought, on the verge of believing there was a problem with the machine.

"T-The results are 1,201 in terms of Mana Quantity, giving Fleur Champlin the S-Rank. And the results for Mana Purity are 1,543, awarding Fleur the SS-Rank for Mana Purity."

"Her overall potential is S-Rank." The secretary then looked toward the professors, who were patiently seated, and said, "Are any of the professors interested in making Fleur Champlin their disciple?"

Instantly, all of the professors raised their hands.

All of them except one.
