Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Unlicensed Taxi

"Is there surveillance video of Jiang Feishun?"

Nan Yu looked up at Sun Lu.

"There is."

Sun Lu immediately took over the computer and pulled up the video.

"But it only shows the process of his disappearance."

She positioned the computer towards Nan Yu so she could get a clearer view.

The video was very short, only 20 seconds.

Nan Yu watched as Jiang Feishun, carrying a black bag, hurriedly appeared at the hospital entrance.

At the 11th second, he stopped in his tracks, standing still.

Three seconds later, a person in black clothes walked past him, bulky enough to completely obscure Jiang Feishun from view.

By the 18th second, the person in black had moved on, and Jiang Feishun instantaneously vanished from his spot.

Sun Lu, unable to hold back, exclaimed, "He vanished into thin air like a ghost."

Nan Yu, never a believer in ghosts and spirits, rewound the video back to the beginning and watched it again.

Finally, she paused at the 17th second, pointing at the upper right corner of the screen.

"Lawyer Sun, does this car look familiar to you?"

Sun Lu leaned in closer, "A black car with, apparently, no license plate."

Her eyes widened, "This car looks like the same one that took Chang Sumeng away!"

Nan Yu pursed her lips slightly, "Lawyer Sun, could you please send me a copy of these two surveillance videos? I’d like to confirm something when I get back."

Sun Lu didn’t hesitate, "No problem."

As soon as she arrived home, Nan Yu got straight out of the car.

Meanwhile, Qi Ming waited at the door with a worried expression.

Upon seeing Nan Yu return unharmed, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"Young Madam, it’s cold outside. Please, come in quickly."

Nan Yu turned to Sun Lu, "Lawyer Sun, if there is any progress, please inform me immediately."

Sun Lu nodded, "Sure."

Afterward, Nan Yu followed Qi Ming into the house.

----

Elsewhere, at the hospital.

Nan Qingqing walked Nan Zhuoyuan out of the ward, her face bearing crystalline tears, looking distressed and pitiful.

"Big brother, thank you so much for today. Without you, my foster mother would not have been able to move into a private room and receive such good care so quickly."

Nan Zhuoyuan glanced down at the pitiable Nan Qingqing and handed her a tissue.

"Qingqing, it’s rare to see such filial piety from you. Helping you is only right. Rest well tonight; you don’t have to worry too much about your foster mother’s leg. I’ve already arranged for the best orthopedic surgeon to rush back overnight from abroad."

Nan Qingqing obediently nodded, with tears continuously falling, looking endearing.

"Thank you, big brother."

However, Nan Zhuoyuan was unmoved, his eyes glancing at the darkening skies.

He said impassively, "Qingqing, it’s getting late, I should go."

Nan Qingqing followed behind him, "Big brother, let me walk you out."

Nan Zhuoyuan waved his hand dismissively, "No need, go back."

Nan Qingqing stood still, her eyes swelling with tears, weakly saying, "Then, big brother, be careful on your way."

Nan Zhuoyuan nodded and turned to take the elevator to the parking garage on the second basement level.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, Nan Qingqing’s pitiable expression vanished, replaced with a smug smile, humming a cheerful tune on her way back to the ward.

In the ward, Sheng Ruomei, who hadn’t fallen asleep, suddenly sat up, her legs uninjured as she hopped down from the bed and looked outside, seeing no one.

She said excitedly, "The coast is finally clear."

Nan Qingqing saw her jump down and scolded her in shock, "Mom, you’re supposed to have hurt your left leg! If you move like that and someone sees you, they’ll know you’ve been faking your illness!"

"Hurry back to bed!"
