Chapter 450: Chapter 435: Nan Yu, I Don’t Want to Divorce You_2
At this moment, the third floor was bustling with patients, and Nan Yu and Chi Ying followed Li Chongbai into the prepared acupuncture room.
Soon after, the four star doctors also entered and tightly closed the door behind them.
The other patients outside, watching the scene, couldn’t help but feel curious.
"Who was the patient that just went in? Why does it require Dean Li and four star doctors to work together to treat them?"
"Doesn’t look like the illness is that serious. Having so many doctors—wouldn’t that be wasting medical resources?"
"Look at that old lady, elegant and decked out in gold and jewels. She’s clearly someone rich or powerful. She’s just throwing money around!"
"I thought Dean Li was always fair and righteous, never bowing to the powerful. Turns out he’s corrupt too."
It wasn’t even half an hour before rumors spread like wildfire.
Over at the entrance of the ICU, Meng Yi caught wind of the gossip as well.
She stood up abruptly and quickly headed to the acupuncture room on the third floor.
Upon reaching the door, she took a deep breath and shouted toward the tightly closed doors.
"Dean Li, please save my boyfriend! If you don’t treat him, he’ll be paralyzed for life!"
The next second, the door opened.
Li Chongbai stepped out, his tone compassionate as he asked, "Young lady, who is your boyfriend?"
Seeing Li Chongbai, Meng Yi’s face lit up with a smile, and she quickly replied, "My boyfriend is Luo Ji, staying in the ICU on the fifth floor. Dean Li, if you can cure him, I’m willing to pay any amount!"
Li Chongbai quickly remembered who she was and noted that Meng Yi seemed somewhat familiar.
"Young lady, are you a medical student?"
Meng Yi nodded, "Yes, I’m a third-year medical student at A University’s Medical Department. My name is Meng Yi. You even gave a lecture at our school before—I was the outstanding student representative."
Li Chongbai nodded in acknowledgment, "Meng Yi, since you’re a medical student, you should understand that your boyfriend’s injuries aren’t a matter of money. They require time for gradual recovery."
"Moreover, his case is quite special. The specific treatment plan still needs to be finalized with his family."
Meng Yi interjected, "I am his family! I can make the decisions. As long as you put your heart into treating him and help him recover, I’ll accept any treatment plan!"
Li Chongbai explained, "Meng Yi, you’re his girlfriend, but since you’re not yet married, you can’t make the decisions. It has to be his family."
"The police have already contacted his family, and they are expected to arrive today. You can discuss it with them first."
He glanced at the time, "I have other patients to attend to. If you have any questions, you can talk to his attending physician for more details."
With that, he went back inside.
Meng Yi wanted to say more, but the door closed in her face. From inside, a voice could be heard.
"That murderer being paralyzed is just what he deserves."

At the entrance of the residential complex, Nan Yu told the driver to head back first, saying she’d call him later when she needed a pickup.
Once the driver left, she went upstairs to change into an all-black outfit, donned a black hat, and then hailed a cab to the West Suburb Amusement Park.
It was the weekend, and the park was teeming with people.
Nan Yu pulled her hat brim down, queued up to enter the amusement park, and bought a rabbit-shaped balloon at the entrance.
Holding the balloon, she walked forward, silently counting how many benches she passed.
"...Eight, nine."
She sat down on the ninth bench.
Tying the rabbit balloon to the back of the bench, she looked straight ahead at the roller coaster, from which waves of screams were emanating.
The surrounding passersby were busy heading off to various attractions, and no one paid her any attention.
Ten minutes later.
A clown dressed in brightly colored clothes, wearing a golden wig, approached Nan Yu holding a red raffle box.
"Hello, would you like to draw a prize?"
Nan Yu, wearing sunglasses, slowly raised her head and noticed the rabbit pin on the clown’s chest. Her lips curved into a smile.
"Sure."
The clown pushed the raffle box toward her, "May good luck come your way."
Nan Yu reached inside and pulled out a small red ball.
The next second, the clown exclaimed excitedly, "Congratulations! You’ve won a box of rabbit chocolates."
He pulled out a neatly packaged box of chocolates from his pocket and handed it to her.
Nan Yu took it, "Thank you."
The clown smiled at her and turned to approach other passersby, asking, "Hello, would you like to draw a prize?"
When he turned back again, only the rabbit balloon remained on the bench—Nan Yu had disappeared without a trace.
The clown retracted his gaze and continued his work.
Nan Yu, unnoticed by others, slipped into the amusement park staff changing room.
The room was empty. She walked in and went straight to locker 9.
Tearing open the box of chocolates in her hand, she found a key inside.
She used it immediately to unlock the locker, revealing only a single document inside.
