The F-Class Healer Omega is a Villain [BL]
Chapter 24: No overtime for me

Chapter 24: No overtime for me

Unfamiliar territory. Don’t tell me I died and transmigrated into another book?! The last book I read was 2 days ago—Is it that one?

The room he woke up in wasn’t one that he recognized. Confirming before panicking, Cheon Areum sat up on the bed. Someone was sleeping at the end of the bed, close to his feet. Using his arms as a pillow, Yoon Seoyul was half on the mattress and half on the ground, but that didn’t seem to matter much as he slept peacefully, as if the world had ended and he had nothing else to do. His condition must be really exhausting for him to be able to sleep here.

The bedroom was befitting Yoon Seoyul’s filthy-rich status—spacious, luxurious, and meticulously arranged. Suddenly, he missed his old bedroom. He had never really appreciated his bedroom as much as he was now.

"Hey, Yoon Seoyul."

Tapping his head with his foot, he called out softly. Yoon Seoyul slowly opened his eyes but said nothing, just staring at him. No matter how kind-hearted the man was, he must be really upset about him stealing the spotlight from him.

"Have you seen my phone?"

Sighing, he brushed his hair back, sitting on the carpeted floor before speaking.

"I told you not to take it inside the gate, didn’t I?"

"It broke?"

I mean, I’ve been moving around more than usual... Ugh, if only I had put it in my inventory before biting down on that ringleader’s essence and passing out.

Lamenting inwardly, Cheon Areum accepted his fate, waiting to hear about his phone’s well-being.

"You dropped it somewhere, and I couldn’t find it in time. The whole place was collapsing, so we had to rush to the gate."

"....."

Cheon Areum quietly got out of the bed, walking straight to the nearby window, ready to jump out, when Yoon Seoyul snatched his wrist and they both tumbled to the floor. But since it was carpeted, no injuries were gained. Yoon Seoyul immediately pinned him down.

"Why are you so reckless?! I got you a new phone already—there’s no need to be like this!"

Eyes wide open, Cheon Areum blinked up at him, momentarily stunned. The morning light haloed Yoon Seoyul’s head like some kind of saintly aura, his usually perfect hair now delightfully messy from sleep. His warm breath fanned across Cheon Areum’s face, close enough that he could count each individual eyelash.

"I think my heart just skipped a beat."

Pinning him down and towering over him is such a male lead kind of thing to do that Cheon Areum was truly taken aback.

"But I think you’re misunderstanding something here. I was going to fly over to my apartment..."

Yoon Seoyul let out a long-suffering sigh that ruffled Cheon Areum’s bangs.

"Haa... In daylight? I purposefully kept your reawakening under wraps, and you want to fly out in the bright sky, showcasing your new abilities?"

"You mean no one knows about my sacrifices? You took credit for everything??!"

Throwing Yoon Seoyul off of himself easily, he uttered in shock.

"Yoon Seoyul, I didn’t know you were such a greedy man. How much am I getting paid for the dungeon then?"

"You’re not getting paid. You were supposed to be there as a spectre."

The bald-faced lie was almost impressive. Cheon Areum nodded slowly, the pieces clicking into place. Of course. Now that he’d proven himself stronger, the protagonist was feeling threatened. It was textbook main character syndrome.

"I see. You don’t like me now that I’m stronger, right? It’s fine. I won’t ask to join your guild anymore. I won’t disturb you either. I’ll consider this as me repaying you for your help and taking me to an S-Class gate."

I tried my best to befriend you, but maybe it’s impossible for the villain and the main character to be on good terms.

Just as his hand touched the doorknob, a strong grip closed around his shoulder, spinning him around to face Yoon Seoyul again.

"You never heard my answer, did you?"

Cheon Areum raised a brow. What was he talking about?

"I’ll let you join my guild once you’re registered as an S-Class... I haven’t officially reported back, so if you want, I’ll change it to what really happened. You’ll be paid too."

"Why not just say so from the beginning then? And I’m not an S-Class."

"You’re not? How did you—"

"I’m an S+ Class."

Not letting him finish his words, Cheon Areum spoke arrogantly, rubbing it in his face. To be honest, he wasn’t expecting to reawaken as an S+ Class. The only thing different was that the original owner of the body had changed. That must mean he was just that great to surpass the S-Class too.

"You’re an S+ Class?"

Yoon Seoyul repeated, clearly not convinced, but he was in no mood to convince him. It was time to go home.

"I’m going back for now, so let’s talk about this tomorrow."

"Wait, take your new phone. I saved my number in it."

Picking the phone from the bedside table, Yoon Seoyul handed it to him. Losing his old phone might have been for the better. He got a new model for free.

"Thanks for this. I’m not paying for this, just so we are clear."

"You don’t have to."

Ignoring the man, he opened the door only to see his secretary Joon’s face. The bedroom happened to be on the 10th floor of the guild’s building. Had he been listening in on them? These kinds of abilities were uselessly scary. Everyone who worked in guilds were awakeners who had chosen not to be hunters but office workers.

Cheon Areum narrowed his eyes, glaring at Joon suspiciously and viciously before slamming the door in Yoon Seoyul’s face who was about to exit the room.

Having acquired a new outfit and a new phone, Cheon Areum scrutinized his new information panel sitting in the backseat of the taxi.

[Name: Cheon Areum

Class Type: Enchanter (S+)

Skills:

Soul Bind (S)

Healing Hand (A)

Energy Explosive (S)

Mind Corruption (S+) ]

It wasn’t drastically different from before. There were two major changes:

One—the class was now S+ instead of S.

Two—he had four skills instead of three, the extra one being Mind Corruption.

Maybe it was because of that skill alone that his class had upgraded, but more than anything, he was so glad to have Soul Bind.

It was his favorite skill to use in the book. Cheon Areum seriously overused that skill—trapping souls in spade cards had been a hobby of his that lasted to the end of the book. The reason he had lost control in his first S-Class gate was also because he had daringly torn apart multiple cards and sucked on their souls without knowing the consequences. He had been able to handle it because he knew about it already, or else he would’ve met the same outcome.

"Thank you."

Paying with the cash he got from Yoon Seoyul, he got out of the taxi. They had entered the gate early in the morning. The sun was still out when he arrived at his apartment building, but it still felt like he hadn’t seen Rian for the longest time. He sprinted up the stairs in a single go. While unlocking his front door, he called back the butterfly he had left hidden in the doorway.

"Rian, I’m home."

Cheon Areum gingerly announced. He saw the messy dining table littered with half-eaten snacks as he passed, and then he saw the tiny kid on the living room floor, passed out with a crayon in his hand and drawings under his head. He sat down beside him, quietly pulling out the papers carefully. All of them had some kind of clothes doodled on them. Though he wasn’t the best at it, it seemed like he had been designing his own clothes in his free time.

Piling the paper drawings to the side, he lay down next to him. He gave the crayon in his grip a tug. Slowly removing it, he paused to observe the soft and tiny hand. Having no siblings or any younger-brother-like friends, it was all new to him—to come home early because someone’s waiting for him. His parents had never been home much, even when they were alive, leaving him all by himself. But he never did resent them or anything. They provided for him and gave him everything he could ever want growing up.

Yet he still preferred this life—coming home to Rian—despite the place being as small as a mouse hole and barely surviving on pennies. It was unusual for him. Truly strange. He had become someone who wanted to care and spend all his time with this kid regardless of everything. He held the hand in his, and, palming it timidly, he pressed a kiss.

I’ll never let you be all alone again, Rian.

That was his final thought before falling asleep like that—hand in hand, side by side.
