Chapter 1445 - Chapter 1445 Chapter 1543 The Mysterious Person
Chapter 1445: Chapter 1543: The Mysterious Person Chapter 1445: Chapter 1543: The Mysterious Person In the ruins, the Tiger-Head Mask turned around and walked away, with all five poison pill masters who had come to this place decapitated, none spared.
And such events were continuously happening throughout the Nine Countries.
At some unknown point in time, several mysterious individuals with masks had appeared across the Nine Countries. They were unfathomably powerful, targeting poison pill masters specifically, and nearly a hundred had been killed.
For a time, the poison pill masters of the Pill Alliance were in a state of panic. Many who had planned to showcase their skills widely after the great war between two lands canceled their plans.
It was a joke; people were hunting down poison pill masters out there. Wasn’t going out seeking death?
Various powers also noticed these new mysterious figures and attempted to investigate their origins, but to no avail. These masked figures were very strong and elusive, and the martial arts they used were highly diverse, making it impossible to trace their origins.
However, one thing was certain, these mysterious masked individuals seemed only to target poison pill masters, and they had not killed anyone else.
Many people cheered for this, especially the pill refiners from the Alchemy Tao families, who even publicly expressed their desire to befriend these mysterious masked people.
After all, poison pill masters had truly despicable reputations. Whether as pill refiners or not, people were extremely disdainful towards this group. If not for the protection of the Pill Alliance, many might have attacked the poison pill masters.
The Pill Alliance’s protection emboldened the poison pill masters in the Nine Countries, and no one dared to touch these poison pill masters, which only increased their arrogance.
Yet, someone dared to brazenly kill poison pill masters at this time, eliminating nearly a hundred people and satisfying many from the Nine Countries.
Ancient Pill Court, a gathering place for the Pill Alliance’s upper echelon.
The Pill Alliance today was no longer what it used to be. Of the Eight Great Elders, only three were still in charge, the others having retired or gone into seclusion.
The number of high-ranking members was also less than half of before, as a large part of the original high ranks were composed of families from the Alchemy Tao. Now that the Alchemy Tao families had distanced themselves from the Pill Alliance, the number of people at the top had also drastically decreased.
In the grand hall where the high-level discussions were held, many of the leaders were worried about the future development of the Pill Alliance.
In another grand hall, the conversation between the three Heaven Kings was much more somber and serious.
“Is there still no result from the investigation into the masked individuals?” the Western Moon King asked the South Zodiac King, somewhat displeased.
The South Zodiac King replied expressionlessly, “No.”
The Western Moon King frowned slightly. Since the East Pole King was not present, he was in charge of the Pill Alliance.
“If we can’t eliminate these detestable masked individuals, how can our pill refiners venture out freely?” he said with an increased tone.
The South Zodiac King glanced at him and said, “Why wouldn’t our pill refiners be able to venture out? Those who dare not venture out are just a group of poison pill masters.”
The Western Moon King immediately felt a surge of anger, “There are no such thing as poison pill masters now; they are all pill refiners of our Pill Alliance.”
“That’s only what you think,” replied the South Zodiac King, shaking his head with a hint of sarcasm.
The North Spirit King’s expression remained cold, his gaze fixed on the blue sky and white clouds outside, his thoughts seemingly drifting to an unknown place. He appeared utterly oblivious to the tension between the other two in the hall, or perhaps he simply did not care.
Suppressing his anger, the Western Moon King knew that arguing with the South Zodiac King would be of no benefit to him.
“North Spirit, what does Hidden Kill Hall say?” he turned and asked the North Spirit King.
North Spirit King turned languidly and said nonchalantly, “There’s no news.”
“Even the Hidden Kill Hall can’t find out the identities of those masked people?” Western Moon King felt somewhat surprised.
North Spirit King did not say much, just nodded her head, and then looked back toward the outside of the hall, as if the scenery outside was more interesting to her than the matters being discussed inside.
Western Moon King glanced at North Spirit King and then at South Zodiac King, aware that these two no longer saw eye to eye with him.
“Do you really want to watch the Pill Alliance continue like this?” Western Moon King slowed his tone as he spoke.
Upon hearing this, South Zodiac King sneered, “Do you not know why the Pill Alliance has become what it is?”
“What are you trying to say?” Western Moon King narrowed his eyes, looking at South Zodiac King.
“There’s nothing much to say. The Pill Alliance has already become what it is today, and we both have our responsibilities. If it continues like this, the Pill Alliance won’t last much longer.” South Zodiac King finished speaking and turned to walk out of the great hall, clearly not intending to continue arguing with Western Moon King.
Western Moon King clenched his fists, his complexion somewhat ugly.
“North Spirit, do you also think that the downfall of the Pill Alliance is because of me?” Western Moon King said.
“What do you think?” North Spirit King revealed a rare faint smile, a smile that one could not tell whether it was ironic or something else.
Western Moon King huffed heavily, a Jade Slip appearing in his hand, and he spoke a few words to it.
“Ever since the Pill Alliance connected with Hidden Kill Hall, ever since the Poison Pill Master stepped into the Pill Alliance, it was destined to end up like this today,” North Spirit King said as she slowly stood up and also walked out of the great hall.
The vast hall was left with only Western Moon King.
Western Moon King sat in the seat originally belonging to East Pole King, his face fierce, his eyes harboring a trace of ruthlessness.
“The Pill Alliance cannot decline while in my hands. To turn the tide, extreme measures must be taken,” Western Moon King spoke through gritted teeth.
…
In Tang Country, beneath a certain waterfall, several figures quietly appeared.
“The target has been dealt with, we can return to report now,” the individuals looked at each other, one of them spoke in a hollow voice.
“It’s a pity we lost two men, I didn’t expect the target to be so strong,” another person said.
“No matter, we in Hidden Kill Hall focus on results, not losses,” the person leading, who seemed to be their leader, spoke with an even tone, carrying an air of authority.
As the group was about to leave, suddenly a sword light descended. Everyone but the leader, who reacted quickly, was killed on the spot.
“Who’s there?” The leader, face filled with terror, did not expect someone to strike at them suddenly, and to kill all his subordinates with a single sword strike, this power was truly terrifying.
A figure appeared above the waterfall, standing on a protruding rock within the waterfall, looking down at the sole surviving member of Hidden Kill Hall.
“Who are you?” The leader stared at the person, his pupils constricted, his voice somewhat trembling.
The person was dressed in blue, tall and lofty, wearing a Wolf Head Mask and holding an ancient longsword, his long hair fluttering in the wind.
