Chapter 1401 - Chapter 1401 Chapter 1499 Confronting the Long-lived Ones
Chapter 1401: Chapter 1499: Confronting the Long-lived Ones Chapter 1401: Chapter 1499: Confronting the Long-lived Ones “You’re too slow,” a cold voice suddenly rang out, startling everyone from the Supreme Palace, their faces turning pale.
A black mountain peak thunderously fell from the deep sky, pressing down upon the group from the Supreme Palace.
Not only that, an invisible force permeated the surroundings, and ten Spirit Source experts from the Supreme Palace were mired as if stuck in a quagmire, barely able to move.
Even though the elder from the Supreme Palace could move, his figure was also slowed.
It was precisely because of this brief delay that Boundless Mountain smashed down directly upon them.
In almost an instant, the bodies of those ten Spirit Source experts were crushed into mush, and the Supreme Palace elder spat blood from his mouth as his body plummeted powerlessly towards the ground below.
“Damn it!” The elder roared in rage, his face flush with sorrow and anger. He watched helplessly as the ten companions who had followed him met their violent end, utterly powerless to do anything.
Fang Lin stood atop Boundless Mountain, looking down on the elder with a blank expression. As for the death of those ten Spirit Source Martial Artists, it seemed to Fang Lin there was no sense of accomplishment–as if it were only to be expected.
Hundreds of heads beneath Boundless Mountain swayed in the sea breeze, each with eyes wide open, presenting a horrifying sight.
The elder looked at those heads, his heart further shaken. He hadn’t expected this person to have already killed so many from the Taoist Sect and even hung their heads on this mountain. What was his intention? Was he declaring war on the Taoist Sect, or was he provoking them deliberately?
“Who are you exactly?” The elder gritted his teeth as he questioned, all the while covertly regulating his breath to recover from his injuries.
Caught off-guard moments ago, he had been tricked by Fang Lin. Although he had not been crushed to death like those ten Spirit Source Martial Artists, the weight of Boundless Mountain was tremendous, and that previous impact had seriously injured the elder, making him feel as if his internal organs had been forcibly shifted.
But he was, after all, one of the Long-lived Ones. His vitality was overflowing, and his physical recovery abilities were astonishing. As long as the injuries were not fatal, he could recover quite quickly.
“Your killer, that’s who,” Fang Lin said as Boundless Mountain once again thundered towards the elder.
Using a mountain as a weapon, there might have been very few in history who could do so.
The elder’s face turned ugly as he waved his hands, and countless Palm Impressions flew out, landing on Boundless Mountain.
Although the elder had been caught off guard by Fang Lin’s surprise attack at the start, he still possessed strength. In that instant, he sent out dozens of palms, each capable of easily killing a Spirit Source expert.
But these Palm Impressions landing on Boundless Mountain were like a clay ox entering the sea–completely ineffective, not even a single stone on the mountain was dislodged.
Seeing this, the elder’s face turned an even uglier shade. He suddenly struck his forehead, and a vertical eye abruptly opened.
Heavenly Eye!
This elder also possessed the Heavenly Eye, although it was only at an early stage of awakening. Compared to Fang Lin’s Heavenly Eye, which had been baptized with Sacred Qi, the difference was not just a little.
But after all, it was the Heavenly Eye, reducing the suppressive power of Fang Lin’s Heavenly Eye on him by quite a bit.
The elder formed a sword with his fingers, and as two fingers came together, a beam of sword light suddenly shot out from his fingertips.
He did not attack Boundless Mountain again; the sword light went straight for Fang Lin on the mountain.
The target was clear–to kill Fang Lin.
Seeing the sword light coming, Fang Lin remained unflustered, casually swinging his right fist.
Just as the sword light collided with Fang Lin’s right fist, following a brief exchange, the sword light dimmed and Fang Lin shattered it.
“How is that possible?” The elder now felt somewhat incredulous.
Had his opponent exerted all his strength or used some treasure to block his sword light for the moment, the elder wouldn’t have been so surprised; after all, this young man did not seem simple and wouldn’t be so easily dealt with.
But for his opponent to have simply blocked the sword light with a punch was rather unimaginable.
The opponent was clearly at the Spirit Source Realm, no matter how powerful, it seemed unlikely that he could so easily block the attack of a Long-lived One, right?
Naturally, the elder wouldn’t know that Fang Lin’s right arm was now fused with Dragon Bone and was the strongest part of his body.
It could even be said that this was no longer a human arm but a dragon’s arm.
“I haven’t really contended with a Long-lived One before, so I’ll use you for some practice,” Fang Lin said before leaping towards the elder with a swift jump.
The elder’s eyebrows furrowed tightly, but his heart was secretly joyful. Did this young man really think he could contest with a Long-lived One with just a bit of strength? He was too dismissive of the Long-lived Ones.
“You’re courting death!” the elder roared. His entire being surged with energy, his hair and beard standing on end, as his aura raged like the tumultuous tides of an angry sea.
The power of a Long-lived One, unless one truly enters this realm, is otherwise unimaginable.
Fang Lin clenched his right fist tightly and, without any superfluous movements, threw a punch straight at the elder.
The elder discreetly used Taoist Sect martial arts; within his left palm, the Yin Yang Two Energies circled, and the Black and White Twin Fish Diagram suddenly emerged.
With a thunderous bang, Fang Lin’s form immediately retreated, his face turning somewhat pale, while the elder’s face showed even more astonishment as he looked at his own left palm.
He saw that his left palm was twisted in an eerie way, clearly indicating that the bones had been broken.
“What a hard fist! How could the physical body of a Spirit Source Martial Artist be so formidable?” The elder was beginning to doubt what realm Fang Lin was actually in. Despite being enshrouded in Spirit Source Qi, the punch Fang Lin had just thrown had given the elder a lot of trouble, even breaking his bones.
To think that a Spirit Source Martial Artist could break the bones of a Minor Longevity with one punch was something nobody would believe if told.
“Indeed, Long-lived Ones are exactly that, not easily dealt with,” Fang Lin murmured as he clenched his right fist.
The elder’s face was as somber as still water; with a crackling sound, the bones broken by Fang Lin were now fully recovered.
“Come again,” Fang Lin roared lowly, as he charged towards the elder once more.
The elder did not dare to delay; the Black and White Twin Fish Diagrams appeared on both of his hands as he entangled in combat with Fang Lin.
Fang Lin used Kylin martial arts, mainly attacking with his right arm. The elder was worthy of being a Long-lived One; although he had suffered a loss earlier, he now handled Fang Lin’s offensive quite comfortably.
Moreover, the elder was clearly a man of vast experience, knowing that Fang Lin’s body was robust, so he often avoided direct confrontation with Fang Lin’s right fist, deftly dodging it.
Even so, the elder was still heavily punched several times by Fang Lin, with each blow nearly making him cough blood, as many of his bones had been broken in the process.
“You’re a formidable young man! But since you’re ignorant of your own mortality and have committed a great sin, you must die today!” the elder roared in fury, suddenly clapping his palms together.
Yin Yang energies converged, and a Black and White Longsword emerged from between the elder’s palms.
