Chapter 1391 - Chapter 1391 Chapter 1489 The Tragic State of Qian Country
Chapter 1391: Chapter 1489: The Tragic State of Qian Country Chapter 1391: Chapter 1489: The Tragic State of Qian Country Fang Lin released Zhong Wuwei, and before leaving, the latter told Fang Lin that if he needed to find him, he should head to the Thousand Gold Pavilion in Tang Country.
Fang Lin took note of this, and Zhong Wuwei then left the Supreme Saint Hall.
At this moment, Fang Lin was unaware of what had happened in the outside world and was not in a hurry to leave the Supreme Saint Hall.
The first thing he needed to do was to refine Boundless Mountain.
Having obtained two treasures in The Forest of Mist, Fang Lin already had an idea of what to do with the Dragon Bone, but it was a matter of great importance, so he set it aside for the time being.
Refining Boundless Mountain was much easier than handling the Dragon Bone, so he decided to refine Boundless Mountain first, thereby gaining another powerful treasure.
Fang Lin took out a large Boundless Stone that he had owned, placed it on Boundless Mountain, and the Boundless Stone instantly merged with Boundless Mountain.
Next, Fang Lin began the process of refining Boundless Mountain, to turn it into a treasure he could use.
“It seems that in the Buddhist Sect, there is a Boundless Peak, which might just be the other half of Boundless Mountain. It looks like I need to find an opportunity to get my hands on that Boundless Peak as well,” Fang Lin murmured to himself while refining Boundless Mountain.
A huge mountain like Boundless Mountain required some time to refine. Fang Lin took a whole month to refine it, imprinting his own mark on the mountain, allowing him to use Boundless Mountain as he pleased.
Boundless Mountain couldn’t be considered a treasure; its only feature was its incredible hardness and heaviness.
A collision with Boundless Mountain was something even the Minor Longevity Ones couldn’t withstand.
If a Spirit Source Martial Artist were struck, their physical body would collapse and they would be killed on the spot beneath Boundless Mountain.
That was the might of this mountain, and its use was very simple and brutal: to be thrown out in its entirety, crushing or terrifying the target half to death.
After refining Boundless Mountain, Fang Lin cautiously left the Supreme Saint Hall and came into the outside world.
This place was still within the borders of Qian Country, but already on the edge of its territory. Beyond here, it was no longer Qian Country.
After coming out, Fang Lin was worried that the man in black robes might not have left and could still be lurking around. However, he didn’t find any sign of him after exiting, which indicated that he had indeed left the area.
Fang Lin breathed a sigh of relief; if the man in black robes was still waiting outside, that would have been problematic.
“I wonder how Qian Country is doing now,” Fang Lin thought with concern and headed straight towards Qian Capital.
Before he reached Qian Capital, Fang Lin’s heart sank completely.
Qian Country had indeed encountered disaster.
Throughout his journey, many of Qian Country’s cities were in ruins, with almost no survivors, and all he saw were corpses.
Seeing that the situation was dire, Fang Lin did not rush to Qian Capital but went directly to the Purple Mist Sect.
Upon reaching the Purple Mist Sect, Fang Lin’s expression changed drastically; the entire sect was deserted, everything was in ruins, and many of the peaks had collapsed.
Fang Lin’s eyes were sharp as he searched carefully through the ruins of the Purple Mist Sect. Indeed, there was not a single person left, nor did he see any bodies.
“If there are no bodies, then it’s possible that the people of the Purple Mist Sect are still alive,” Fang Lin comforted himself, but it did little to alleviate the heaviness in his heart.
But by the time he saw that ancient cave, his entire state worsened.
The mysterious woman inside the cave had escaped her confinement, and nothing was left within the entire cave.
Fang Lin’s worst fears had ultimately come to fruition; despite his best efforts to prevent it, he couldn’t stop that woman from being unleashed upon the world.
The Purple Mist Sect lay in ruins. Fang Lin didn’t linger in that place any longer, heading straight for Qian Capital.
Upon reaching Qian Capital, he found it too was utterly devastated, with corpses strewn about everywhere. Those who had been lucky enough to survive had long since fled Qian Country.
The scene within the imperial city was even more gruesome; the royal martial artists had been completely massacred, and even Emperor Yang Jianye had met his death in front of the Golden Palace.
Looking at Yang Jianye’s body, Fang Lin felt a pang of sorrow but was helpless to do anything. Everything had already happened, and he was powerless to change any of it.
Fang Lin felt an overwhelming sense of heaviness; Qian Country had ultimately perished, its martial artists wiped out, its citizens fled, and the entire nation had become deathly silent.
“Which party is responsible for this?” Fang Lin gritted his teeth, his fists clenched tightly, with nowhere to vent his anger.
“Fang Lin, I knew you would show up,” a voice said, just as four figures suddenly descended from the sky, surrounding him.
All four were dressed in black, their faces hidden, each emanating a chilling and shadowy aura.
“Hidden Kill Hall?” Fang Lin eyed the four coldly and asked.
“Fang Lin, now that you’ve appeared, we will take your head,” one of them sneered, launching an attack at Fang Lin.
Without any hesitation, the other three joined the assault, clearly not intending to give Fang Lin any chance at all.
All four were Spirit Source experts. Had Fang Lin encountered these foursome before entering the Forest of Mist, he would have been forced to rely on the Demon Puppet just to cope, as he wouldn’t have been able to match them himself.
But now, these Hidden Kill Hall assassins at the second or third level of Spirit Source seemed trivial to him.
Even without merging with the Ancient Lamp of Flame God, he could easily dispose of them.
Exhibiting the Kylin Martial Arts, Fang Lin’s physical strength was overwhelmingly dominant. Once they engaged with him, they immediately realized they were in trouble.
“This boy has already reached the third realm of Spirit Source!” The four of them were shocked. To their knowledge, Fang Lin was only at the peak of the Spirit Bone stage–how much time had passed? Just a few short months, and Fang Lin had already advanced to the third realm of Spirit Source? This rate of advancement was terrifying.
With his ancient spear in hand, Fang Lin’s killing intent surged, and his hair turned a startling crimson as he brutally impaled one of the Hidden Kill Hall assassins against the city wall of the imperial city.
Seeing this, the other three lost all will to fight and immediately scattered to flee.
With a wave of his hand, Fang Lin summoned the Demon Puppet, which promptly captured the escaping three, letting none escape.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Fang Lin pierced two more to death in quick succession, sparing only one assassin.
Afterward, Fang Lin stowed the Demon Puppet and headed toward the Ancient Pill Court.
On his way, Fang Lin learned much about what had happened while he was in the Forest of Mist through the Message Transmitting Jade Slip.
This included the East Pole Heaven King decisively slaying two top experts from the three sects, and a mysterious woman appearing and severely injuring the Tang Emperor.
The current situation was dire, with the three sects strengthened by the presence of this mysterious woman, their offensive might had increased dramatically. The Nine Countries struggled to resist, with large parts of Tang Country falling and fierce battles erupting within the borders of Qing Nation and Yuan Country.
“So much has happened?” Fang Lin tucked away the Jade Slip, his mind in turmoil, with a worrying premonition that something even worse was looming.
Upon arriving at the Ancient Pill Court, Fang Lin met with the three Heaven Kings, excluding the East Pole Heaven King.
