The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron
Chapter 1367 - Chapter 1367 Chapter 1465 Astonishing Secret

Chapter 1367: Chapter 1465: Astonishing Secret Chapter 1367: Chapter 1465: Astonishing Secret “You really are Zhong Wuwei?” Fang Lin asked with full wariness.

Zhong Wuwei chuckled lightly, and with a wave of his hand, a Pill Furnace floated in front of him.

This Pill Furnace was quite extraordinary; it was decorated with many beast-shaped patterns, each one looking so lifelike as if they were about to leap out from the furnace itself.

Upon seeing this Pill Furnace, Fang Lin’s doubts dissipated slightly.

The reason was simple; this was the Beast Heaven Cauldron, which only Zhong Wuwei, from years past, had been known to use, and its fame was indeed considerable.

Since Zhong Wuwei disappeared that year, this Beast Heaven Cauldron had vanished without a trace. Now that this person had the very same cauldron in his possession, it was very likely that he was indeed the Zhong Wuwei of the past.

“This cauldron, you can’t fail to recognize it, right? I’d think that anyone who has been in the Pill Alliance for a few years should know about my cauldron,” Zhong Wuwei said.

Fang Lin nodded, he recognized the Beast Heaven Cauldron.

“So you really are Zhong Wuwei?” Fang Lin said.

“Indeed, I am,” Zhong Wuwei confirmed.

Fang Lin began to ponder, this man was the renegade Pill Refiner Zhong Wuwei who had defected from the Pill Alliance. As another Pill Refiner from the Pill Alliance, they should be natural enemies. Yet, this person engaged in conversation with him, showing no hostility but rather apparent admiration.

Fang Lin didn’t know what sort of person this Zhong Wuwei was, or why he appeared here; he knew very little about him and was thus unable to judge if this person was a friend or foe.

“When I was outside, I often heard of your name. Truly worthy of being the youngest Master of Pill in the history of the Pill Alliance, more dazzling than I ever was. Looking at you is like looking at my former self, it’s sigh-inducing,” Zhong Wuwei expressed, sounding somewhat sentimental.

“What are you doing here? Don’t tell me you, a Pill Refiner, are after the divine weapons and treasures of this place?” Fang Lin said.

Zhong Wuwei shook his head with a smile: “Divine weapons and treasures hold little appeal to me. I once strayed into this place and saw some herbs of incomparable rarity, but at the time I lacked the strength and was chased around woefully by the guardians here, failing to harvest them. Now I’ve come back to claim those herbs for myself.”

“If that’s the case, I will take my leave then. It would be best if we don’t become enemies,” Fang Lin said as he clasped his hands in farewell before turning to leave, seemingly not eager to interact further with Zhong Wuwei.

Seeing Fang Lin about to depart, Zhong Wuwei spoke up, “Wait a moment, please.”

Fang Lin halted in his tracks and frowned, “Does Elder Zhong have any advice for me?”

Zhong Wuwei gestured with his hand, “Not advice, just some things I want to tell you.”

“Well, I am all ears, Elder. But I’d best warn you not to harbor any schemes against me. Although I may lack experience and am far from reaching your level, I still have some means to protect myself,” Fang Lin said with a corner of his mouth lifted in a smile, though it was a cold one, his tone being slightly threatening.

“You are very cautious,” Zhong Wuwei commented.

“One has to be, as humans can be devious and dangerous,” Fang Lin replied, tucking the golden-haired puppy on his shoulder into his Nine Palace Bag.

Zhong Wuwei pointed towards the hillside behind him, “You must recognize the herbs here, don’t you?”

Fang Lin didn’t know what he was getting at, but he nodded anyway.

“As expected of a talent superior even to myself, capable of recognizing all the herbs. However, sometimes you fail to see many truths,” Zhong Wuwei spoke with a complex tone.

“What do you mean? What are you trying to say?” Fang Lin asked.

Zhong Wuwei pointed at the Pill Refiner badge on Fang Lin’s chest, “Are you aware of what the Pill Alliance has been doing behind the scenes?”

Fang Lin felt a slight stir in his heart and had some suspicions, but he kept a steady expression and shook his head to indicate his ignorance.

“On the surface, the Pill Alliance is a power where Pill Refiners from all over the world come together, a place for Pill Refiners to belong and to rely on. It’s such a wonderful and bold vision, but unfortunately, the current Pill Alliance is no longer what it once was,” Zhong Wuwei said with a light smile.

“Could it be that you’re referring to the inclusion of Poison Pill Masters in the Pill Alliance? That doesn’t seem to be a secret; it’s well-known,” Fang Lin said.

“Poison Pill Masters are only a part of it. What disappoints me the most are the collusion between the Pill Alliance and the Hidden Kill Hall, the actions taken by a part of the Pill Alliance,” Zhong Wuwei revealed, suddenly disclosing an extremely significant secret.

Fang Lin was taken aback. What was Zhong Wuwei talking about? Collusion between the Pill Alliance and the Hidden Kill Hall?

“That’s impossible!” Fang Lin said immediately, finding it hard to believe.

Anyone else would have thought it unbelievable too. How could the Pill Alliance possibly collude with the Hidden Kill Hall? It was utterly implausible.

The Pill Alliance and Hidden Kill Hall had always been at odds; their conflicts were as incompatible as fire and water.

To say that the Hidden Kill Hall had collusions with any party might be possible, but the Pill Alliance, an entity Fang Lin found incredibly bizarre.

After all, Fang Lin had been with the Pill Alliance for some time, understood the organization well, and had frequent contact with its high-ranking members, like Elder Tiankui and the Heaven King of East Pole.

Given the character of the Heaven King of East Pole and Elder Tiankui, it was utterly impossible for them to have any connection with the Hidden Kill Hall.

“You find it hard to believe, don’t you? I did too when I first found out; I reacted even more strongly than you. But later on, I gradually uncovered the truth. The Pill Alliance and Hidden Kill Hall, although seemingly at odds, have long been colluding, with ties far deeper and more unimaginable than thought,” Zhong Wuwei said, his expression growing serious.

“What evidence do you have to claim that the Pill Alliance is colluding with the Hidden Kill Hall?” Fang Lin asked, unwilling to easily trust anyone’s words, especially not something that sounded so preposterously unbelievable.

“Are you aware of a kind of creature, neither human nor demon beast, made by human hands?” Instead of answering directly, Zhong Wuwei posed this question.

“Go on,” Fang Lin’s expression shifted, prompting Zhong Wuwei to continue speaking.

Zhong Wuwei looked at Fang Lin, then continued, “I discovered that some of the high-ranking members of the Pill Alliance have been fusing humans with demon beasts, creating those monstrosities that are neither human nor beast, and most of those merged with demon beasts are Pill Refiners from the Pill Alliance, with a small portion being common folks from the Nine Countries.”

“What did you say?” Fang Lin was greatly shocked, and he also remembered the beasts imprisoned in the dungeons of the Extreme North Land, apart from himself, there were three cages, all containing creatures that were neither human nor beast.
