Chapter 1348: Chapter 1447: A Sword Cuts Through Heaven and Earth Chapter 1348: Chapter 1447: A Sword Cuts Through Heaven and Earth “The Taoist Martial Arts do have their merits,” Fang Lin couldn’t help but praise.
Qin Guanyue harnessed the Yin Yang Two Energies as the foundation, evolving a world in the palm of his hands.
Such a technique could no longer be described as profound; it transcended the understanding of ordinary martial artists.
This showcased mastery over the elemental powers of the Heavenly Tao, attainable only by extremely perceptive prodigies.
In this era, Fang Lin had encountered many martial arts geniuses, but of those so-called talents, very few had truly impressed him.
Juechen was one, Yin Wuyan another, and Long Zhiming of the Long Family perhaps half.
Now, he had to include this Qin Guanyue as well.
“This kid indeed has some skill, but his understanding of the Heavenly Tao is still inadequate; he merely employs the basic use of the Yin Yang Two Energies,” the Old Dried Corpse said.
“If his understanding were sufficient, then I wouldn’t need to pay him any attention,” Fang Lin chuckled.
At that moment, Qin Guanyue shaped the world within his grasp, imbued with an enigmatic yet fearsome power. As Juechen’s myriad knife edges struck, Qin Guanyue manipulated the world in his hands, and its might became evident.
The incoming blades were all drawn into this handheld world, immediately refined by the Yin Yang Two Energies, rendering them utterly ineffective.
Upon witnessing this scene, Juechen’s eyes narrowed slightly, also marveling at Qin Guanyue’s strength.
However, Juechen was Juechen, the stronger the opponent, the more excitement he felt, and his fighting spirit soared even higher.
“Despite the tricks, in the face of absolute strength, they are all insubstantial and futile,” Juechen declared coldly.
“That’s not necessarily true,” Qin Guanyue replied solemnly and calmly.
Juechen took a deep breath, clenched the treasured blade in his hand, becoming one with it. His inner strength and the blade’s intent intertwined seamlessly.
Juechen’s strength lay in his understanding of the blade.
In the eyes of the average martial artist, a knife is just a weapon, but in Juechen’s view, a blade is not merely a blade, but an extension of the body.
Any knife, once in Juechen’s grip, revealed its limits and potential strength to him.
He had touched countless blades. Those so-called treasured and sharp weapons held no place of importance in his eyes.
Only once, through a chance encounter, did Juechen find an ancient, rusty sword within the ribcage of a corpse.
When Juechen took hold of this ancient sword, all the rust spots vanished, and a fierce, cold gleam flashed anew.
For the first time, Juechen found a blade that suited his heart–a blade he now wielded.
Of this sword, Juechen knew not its origins, but he understood clearly that it seemed he was born for this blade, which could reveal its true power only in his hands.
And Juechen himself, only when grasping this sword, could he fully unleash his lifetime of skills.
Perhaps this sword was not the strongest throughout history, but it was the one that best resonated with Juechen.
A hundred years ago, Juechen chose seclusion, in part because at that time, he felt that he couldn’t use the blade to his heart’s content.
Thus, having withdrawn himself for a century, Juechen emerged once again, having perfected the use of the blade to a most smooth and complete extent.
His strength had become much greater than a hundred years prior; simply by elevating his realm, he could become one of the top-tier warriors of his time.
“To break your technique, I only need one strike, and that is enough!” Juechen declared. As he slowly swung the knife in his hand.
A single strike descended from above, very slowly, looking as if he was casually chopping down.
But this one strike had nearly depleted all of Juechen’s inner strength.
Hum~~
As the strike landed, Qin Guanyue’s complexion drastically changed, and his eyes were filled with terror.
Fang Lin and Wuyan were equally shocked. Although they were far away, they could still feel a terrifying knife momentum spreading out in all directions, seemingly intent on destroying everything around it.
Juechen had only used this move twice before, both times over a hundred years ago during his prime, against two extremely formidable opponents who had forced him to resort to this technique.
Today, faced with Taoist Sect’s Qin Guanyue, a fellow descendant of the Supreme Saint Hall, Juechen once again unleashed this most tyrannical and dominant strike.
This move had no name, yet it surpassed any of those named knife skills.
Qin Guanyue separated his hands and rapidly expanded the world within his palm, merging himself into it to avoid the damage from Juechen’s knife momentum.
“Even if you flee to another realm, my knife can still cut you down!” Juechen roared, as thousands of knife forces converged to a single point.
The next instant, Qin Guanyue grunted, his palm world shattered, and he himself, situated within that world, suffered a heavy blow.
Blood sprayed from Qin Guanyue’s mouth, staining his Taoist robe red.
It was not over yet. Juechen, holding the treasured knife, charged directly at Qin Guanyue, showing no mercy as he brought down a strike aimed at decapitating Qin Guanyue.
Qin Guanyue’s eyes were vacant, his body already gravely wounded. However, faced with the lethal strike, he still managed to respond.
A horsetail whisk flew out from the Nine Palace Bag, sweeping across to meet Juechen’s attack.
Juechen’s strike hit the horsetail whisk, pouring all his force into it, but the whisk just trembled slightly, effortlessly neutralizing the power of Juechen’s strike.
After that, the whisk swept up Qin Guanyue and they flew backwards in retreat, putting distance between them and Juechen.
Unwilling to let his strike miss, Juechen was determined to pursue Qin Guanyue to finish him off, but at that moment Wuyan could no longer stand by and stepped in front of Juechen.
“Come on, let’s exchange a few moves.” Wuyan started by using Heaven Step, stamping towards Juechen.
Juechen’s face darkened as he swung his knife to meet the attack, taking on the heavy Heaven Step.
At that clash, Juechen staggered back, his complexion turning somewhat pale, with a hint of anger in his eyes.
“What’s this? The Taoist Sect has lost, so now the Confucian Sect is stepping in?” Juechen said, and even though he was already exhausted, he showed no fear and seemed ready to battle Wuyan once more.
Wuyan remained silent. She could not stand idly by and watch Qin Guanyue be killed by Juechen, after all, they were both descendants of the three sects, and despite any lack of amity among the sects, the descendants generally got along fairly well.
At this moment, Fang Lin also came near, covered in his Kylin battle armor, which was very subtle, his presence locked onto the three of them–Juechen, Qin Guanyue, and Wuyan.
All three changed color and turned to look at Fang Lin. Was this guy planning to make a move against all three of them at once? His ambition was enormous, perhaps too much so.
In a farther location, a figure quietly appeared, fully containing his own presence so as not to alert Fang Lin, Juechen, and the others.
“Unexpectedly lively here, providing me with the opportunity to strike,” the figure hiding in the shadows mumbled to himself.
