Chapter 1100 - Chapter 1100 Chapter 1099 Abyssal Upheaval
Chapter 1100: Chapter 1099: Abyssal Upheaval Chapter 1100: Chapter 1099: Abyssal Upheaval When the longsword collided with the Kylin Phantom, a stifling sound suddenly erupted from within Fall Demon Cliff.
Fang Lin stood right at the edge of the cliff, bearing the brunt of it, and felt an invisible force assaulting his mind, causing his form to waver unsteadily for a moment.
“Not good!” Fang Lin immediately sensed something ominous, as the sound coming from below Fall Demon Cliff had such a profound impact on him.
Boom!!!
The intense conflict erupted, the Kylin Phantom dimmed, and the longsword was sent flying back into the hands of the man in green.
“What is this sound?” The man in green also heard the noise from beneath Fall Demon Cliff, a sense of irritation involuntarily rising within his heart.
Both men, as if by unspoken agreement, refrained from striking again, seemingly wary of the entity lurking below the Fall Demon Cliff.
The man in green’s gaze flickered between the other seven people, noticing they all had suffered significant injuries and lacked any remaining strength to fight.
Even with a treasured sword in hand, he found it tough to deal with Fang Lin. Continuing the fight seemed fruitless, and the likelihood of his own defeat seemed ever greater.
Thus, the man in green began to consider retreat.
Roar!!!
Another earth-shattering roar echoed from below Fall Demon Cliff, the demonic Qi becoming several times denser in an instant. The entire area within a thousand miles of Fall Demon Cliff was now shrouded in the thick demonic Qi.
The roar alarmed the nearby Yun Country, bordering Fall Demon Cliff; multiple cities along the border were thrown into panic, unsure of what had transpired, fearing a terrifying Demon Beast’s emergence.
“Kid, there’s an array down there with a monster sealed inside!” The voice of the Old Dried Corpse, Jin Zhulong, rang out, carrying a weight of gravity.
Fang Lin was even more surprised; if even the Old Dried Corpse referred to it as a monster, then it must be an incredibly formidable being.
“What exactly is down there? Could it be that demon that was cast down a thousand years ago?” Fang Lin pondered inwardly, yet his eyes remained vigilant on the man in green.
His opponent was tremendously strong, and the sword he wielded was incredibly powerful, possessing the capacity to battle him face-to-face.
Although Fang Lin currently held the upper hand, he couldn’t be sure that the man in green had revealed all his tricks.
“It could be, or it might not, but the fellow down there is exceedingly powerful and probably not much weaker than that monkey,” the Old Dried Corpse declared.
Upon hearing this, Fang Lin was astounded. According to the Old Dried Corpse, there was a mighty being beneath Fall Demon Cliff whose strength rivaled the Great Sage Equal to Heaven?
How could that be possible? If such a powerful being were suppressed here, then the Nine Countries should be highly concerned and attentive to this place. Yet, aside from Yun Country, there appeared to be no other power that cared about it.
“Can you see what’s down there?” Fang Lin asked.
The Old Dried Corpse sighed. “I absorbed some Sacred Qi earlier, which helped some restoration of my fleshly body, so I can see the general situation below. However, I can’t see through the specifics as there’s a very powerful array in the way.”
Fang Lin frowned; this place was filled with strangeness, and even the Old Dried Corpse couldn’t see through it. It likely wasn’t a place to linger for long.
Just then, from beneath Fall Demon Cliff, suddenly, black tendrils like tentacles flew up, aiming precisely at Fang Lin and the man in green, standing atop the cliff.
Fang Lin immediately dodged, avoiding two black tendrils, and the man in green was also quick to react, continuously hopping to evade; the black tendrils didn’t reach him.
But those four in purple and three in blue were not so lucky, injured as they were, and with the black tentacles coming too quickly for any chance of reaction or escape, two in purple and one in blue were seized by the tentacles; they were instantly pulled towards the depths below Fall Demon Cliff.
The two purple-clothed and one blue-clothed individuals, of course, struggled with all their might, using every trick in the book to break free.
Yet, before they could escape, they vanished into the abyss of Fall Demon Cliff, as if swallowed by an invisible gaping maw.
The remaining individuals in blue and purple hurriedly retreated to where the ones in green stood, their faces filled with shock, their hearts pounding with residual fear.
Had they not reacted a bit quicker and dodged those black tentacles in time, they probably would have been dragged down into Fall Demon Cliff as well.
If they really had been pulled down, it would have been tough to come out alive. Who knows what kind of monstrous things existed beneath Fall Demon Cliff.
The black tentacles seemed unsatisfied and surged toward Fang Lin and the people in green again, each tentacle moving at an incredible speed, and anyone slow to react risked being ensnared.
“Let’s go!” The person in green made a resolute decision, knowing it was no longer safe to stay, and immediately led the remaining few to leave with him.
Fang Lin, too, made a decision and immediately chose a direction to flee.
Glancing back, he saw seven or eight black tentacles pursuing him.
Upon seeing this, Fang Lin launched a punch backward.
The punch shattered two black tentacles, but the remaining ones still relentlessly pursued Fang Lin.
On the other hand, those with the man in green were in an even worse situation, as he had four people following him, resulting in more black tentacles chasing them.
Dozens of tentacles followed close behind the people in green, constantly exuding dense Demonic Qi, and the distance between them narrowed.
The person in green clenched his teeth, transformed his fingers into swords, and slashed at the black tentacles behind them. Instantly, his fingertips turned into Sword Qi, severing three tentacles.
But there was still one tentacle that swiftly struck, ensnaring a person in purple and immediately retreated towards Fall Demon Cliff.
The person in green tried to help, but it was already too late. He could only watch as the individual in purple was pulled down the cliff.
Fleeing while fending off the black tentacles, when Fang Lin had escaped nearly a hundred miles, those black tentacles all retracted, as if they could only extend that far, reaching their limit.
Fang Lin breathed a slight sigh of relief and didn’t linger in the area, vanishing into the mountains.
…
Fang Lin did not stop on his way, nor did he continue to eliminate the branches of Hidden Kill Hall, as he knew that if he continued like that, the pursuit from Hidden Kill Hall would become more and more frequent; he understood the principle of moderation.
Therefore, Fang Lin directly returned to Tiankui Pavilion and met with Elder Tiankui.
Apart from the matters related to Ancient Demon Ridge, Fang Lin informed Elder Tiankui of almost everything else he had done, which was also Luo’s way of setting his mind at ease.
When Fang Lin returned to Tiankui Pavilion, Elder Tiankui had just informed him of something, something that was quite favorable for Fang Lin.
“You have now stepped into the Spirit Bone realm and are already a Five Cauldrons Pill Refiner; you are qualified to become a Hall Master.” Those were the original words of Elder Tiankui, meaning, Fang Lin, you may now take the position of Hall Master.
