The Exalted Prince Lives Again -
Chapter 66: Edric’s Offer
Chapter 66: Edric’s Offer
The Student Council was situated in a special building, specifically built for students’ administrative business.
Student Affairs building.
Home to the special and official councils and committees made by cadets, and made for cadets.
The building was far, to say the least.
There were dozens of buildings for the first-year cadets alone, all spaced out with greenery.
The Student Affairs building was between the second-year section and the third-year section.
Tu! Tu! Tu!

{Hello?} A tired and panting voice echoed from the smartphone.
"William, I am lost," Lucien said as if it were the most natural thing to do.
{...}
{Alright, where are you and where are you headed?} William was already aware of this disability of Lucien.
He did not question what was going on.
In this modern age where smartphones and the internet were everything, Lucien was practically a disabled person.
It was so bad that Lucien knew how to read a map, but if the same thing were on the smartphone, he would miss something.
"I am at the Political Etiquette building." Lucien bit his lips in shame and continued, "I started from the same place a few minutes ago, and somehow circled back to here."
{...}
This really was something else.
{And where are you headed to?} William asked.
"Student Affairs building."
...
After William’s help and 15 minutes of walking, Lucien stood in front of a rather moderately sized building.
It had four floors, all normal-sized, unlike the other buildings on the campus.
But size isn’t everything. Personality matters as well.
The inside of the building was just as lavish and over the top.
There was no guard here, nor any perimeter.
It was just a normal building with open doors, which Lucien entered.
He had asked Kane, and he had already informed him where the Student Council room was situated.
The top floor.
He took the elevator, which was empty, just like the entire building, and reached the floor.
There was a mahogany door right in front of the elevator’s exit, with a gold plaque with words etched on it.
Student Council.
Lucien, without any hesitation, went ahead and opened the door.
Creak!
It was bright and huge.
If Lucien were to guess, he would say that this entire floor was the student council room alone.
There were lines upon lines of awards, and books stacked on shelves, with a massive mural painted on the ceiling.
It had full-sized sofas with coffee tables in between, but the main stuff was on the other side of the room.
A long, rectangular table in the middle with seats all around, and the biggest seat at the far end of the table.
It was the chair of the Student Council’s president, and sitting on it was the disgustingly handsome, blond prince.
Edric Callastre.
Unlike what he expected, there was no oppressive aura around.
But it became pretty clear why.
It was because of the person right next to Edric keeping him in check.
"Good evening, Lucien." He spoke with his deep and smooth voice, "Please, have a seat."
Lucien took the exact opposite seat to Edric, asserting his position as someone of the same level.
"Good evening, Lucien." His eyes darted to the source of the sweet voice.
It was Grace Harken, the vice-president of the Student Council, waving at him with a sweet smile.
She truly was the opposite of Edric.
"Good evening, Edric, Grace," His tone was a lot softer towards Grace.
Grace shifted her posture and started speaking, "Lucien, why don’t you join the faction? Politics aside, you both are brothers–"
"Grace," Edric stopped her quickly, his gaze piercing her. "Let’s not pressure him with emotions, shall we?"
His face had a smile, but both could tell he wasn’t happy.
"On to the main topic," Edric turned back to face Lucien, "Join our faction, Lucien."
"After the stunt you pulled last week?" Lucien’s voice was cold, his expressions dead serious.
"Oh, Lucien," He replied, "We both know you don’t care about that stuff."
"I don’t," Lucien agreed, but added, "But not when it benefits you."
"Fair enough," Edric nodded and started thinking. "But–"
Before Edric could begin, Lucien interrupted, "And even if I do ignore that incident, give me one logical reason why I should be under you."
"Because I have offers for you," He replied spontaneously, "Offers that you cannot refuse. Offers that I am sure can convince you to work under me."
Lucien was intrigued, and Grace was perplexed.
What could Edric possibly offer to Lucien?
"Let’s start with the light hitters," Edric leaned forward, his chin resting on his hands, as he said, "You would have a seat in the core meetings of the faction."
"Denied." Lucien’s answer was immediate.
"I knew it," Edric mumbled under his breath.
Lucien had no interest in the politics of the faction in the first place, so getting him a seat where he would have more work would not work.
"I can get you sensitive information on the Cythos and Solstice nobles studying in the Academy."
"Denied."
Another offer was thrown at him and was turned down instantly.
He had no interest in politics.
"I will give you a one-time pass, where I will owe you a favor. No questions asked. As long as it is something I can do, I will."
This time, the answer wasn’t immediate.
Edric smiled.
He was now pulling out the heavy hitters.
Lucien was fascinated by this.
To be honest, Edric had a lot more power and influence than one might think.
Not only in the Academy but also outside.
And he was pretty powerful on top of that.
This offer was not bad.
Not bad, but also not good enough.
"Denied."
Sigh!
Edric sighed, but he wasn’t defeated yet.
He had more in his arsenal.
"Access to the highest level of library that the students are allowed at this Academy, the same level as me."
’Damn!’ Lucien was genuinely perplexed why Edric was going this far.
This truly was an offer worth considering.
He could research his resurrected on a deeper level, and also learn more about artifacts, which would take time in the academy.
"And," Edric’s words took Lucien by surprise.
He wasn’t done?
"I will also remove all sorts of surveillance placed over you by different factions and my own mother."
