The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood -
Chapter 179
Chapter 179: 179
Somewhere in the heavenly realm, a rift opened in space, and a pair of black eyes appeared. Followed by dark-blue hair and the tall figure of a man. His face was cold, and the black eyes flashed with annoyance.
The palace in front of him just reminded him of the damn old fogies who had forgotten their place again. How he wished to kill them... But that would take too much time. A warning was enough.
But it had to be a big warning. One that would shut them up for good. Or at least for a few hundred years.
Still, it couldn’t be too big of a warning. If the fogies felt too humiliated, they might decide to retaliate. Because a cornered rabbit bites. He had to show them that their lives were in his hands. And he couldn’t let them know about the brat in the lower realm.
A cold smirk slowly lifted the corner of his lips. He had to do it quickly.
Walking slowly into the massive palace, he glanced at the guards by the gate. They didn’t dare stop him and quickly opened it.
Behind the gate was a huge garden with fountains, fields of grass, trees, bushes and flowers, and then another gate. With two more guards. They, too, opened the gate without question.
Alexander found himself in front of a long, wide hallway, with portraits and trophies hanging on the walls. And of course, many doors.
Naturally, another huge gate was at the end of the hallway. But it didn’t have guards. It was the last gate Alexander had to pass through to meet the hateful oldies.
Walking through the hallway, his power surged around him, forming black strings all around him. They coiled around each other until they formed a big ball above him.
Then, the black ball flew out and crashed against the gate.
The ground shook and dust filled the hallway. Then, a loud bang deafened everyone in the palace.
The gate fell into the room behind it.
Alexander’s cold smirk widened into a cold smile as he stepped over the fallen gate, entering the hall with the oldies.
Without saying a word, Alexander took long strides through the huge hall, toward the seat atop the staircase at the end of the hall. The man sitting there shook, feeling his organs tighten in fear.
"I see you’ve become quite daring!" Alexander’s voice was a cold hiss as his black eyes locked on the man.
Then, before anyone could react, a black shadow moved from underneath the man’s seat and wrapped around him. The next moment, he was thrown into the middle of the hall, and Alexander sat in his seat.
The man on the ground didn’t dare complain and just knelt face-down on the ground, hoping not to be killed. He had told the elders not to do it just because Alexander was away, that he would return and make them all regret it. But they didn’t listen, and they would all pay for it greatly.
The elders sitting on the seats by the three walls didn’t dare look at Alexander. They had touched what was his, so they couldn’t avoid his wrath.
"Give me names!" Alexander’s cold voice boomed through the hall, making the elders’ skin crawl.
The hall was huge, so the number of elders was great. The whole palace had five hundred elders, but present were only something over four hundred. And what the man in the middle said was like a death sentence for over half of them.
Nearly four hundred were involved, most of them present. Only two hundred and something were directly involved, but the rest of them still had their fingers in it and got some benefits. And the innocent ones from the five hundred knew about it but kept silent.
As the man kneeling in the middle named them, which took quite a while, Alexander just sat on the seat with a smile, his elbow pressed against the armrest and his head resting against the palm of his hand.
In the eyes of the elders, he looked like the incarnation of the devil. And from what they knew about him from the past, it was a very clear understatement.
Alexander Terce was the kind of man even demons would evade and devils would bow to.
In the meantime, sitting on the railing of a balcony somewhere in the heavenly realm, a man clad in black was holding a strange stone. Somehow it looked like a spirit stone, but it had an eerie energy around it.
After inserting his energy into the stone, the man waited for a reaction.
And in the lower realm, hiding in the dark corners of the brothel, Noctis froze when he felt movement from the same kind of stone in his possession.
Quickly leaving the brothel, he jumped to a rooftop and lay down before inserting his energy too. "Yes?" he asked as an image of the man dressed in black appeared on the stone. "What happened?" he added.
The man on the other side of the stone had a slight frown on his face. It could be seen through the mask covering his whole face. "Why does Our Lord want to return down there so much? And why did he leave you there?" the man finally asked.
Noctis wondered whether to answer or not, but since Alexander didn’t order secrecy, he decided telling another shadow guard wouldn’t harm anyone. "Our Lord has gained interest in a young child from the Land of Exile."
Hearing that, the man on the other side nearly choked on his own saliva. "Our Lord what?!" he exclaimed. But he quickly calmed down, at least on the outside, and glared through the stone at Noctis. "Repeat that! Slowly! Our Lord did what?"
Noctis sighed. "The child has the potential to be even more monstrous than Our Lord," he said with a frown. He didn’t know if he should be happy or horrified.
From what he had seen of Michelle, anyone could tell that she would one day far surpass the greatest cultivators of the world.
When the man on the other side heard Noctis’s words, he felt yet another rude wave of shock wash over him. Their Lord, Alexander, was already a monster, so for there to be someone who could become even more of a monster was information that could shake the whole heavenly realm.
The man suddenly wanted to see this child himself.
If it was true, then the old fogies in the palace were in for a ride. A ride they would never forget. A ride that would accompany them for the rest of their lives.
From the man’s gaze, Noctis could easily tell what he was planning. "Unlucien! Don’t try it!" he said with a shake of his head.
The man, Unlucien, frowned. "Do you think I can’t take care of a child from the Land of Exile if needed?"
Noctis shook his head. "Unlucien, she might become Our Lady. So don’t touch her." That was a warning out of consideration. "Don’t even approach her without Our Lord’s order."
Hearing that, Unlucien felt like his brain was run over by a group of elephants, completely destroying all his thoughts. When he came back to his mind a bit, only one thought swirled around. "Our Lord, whom we suspected to be a blue-balled monk, would take such interest in someone?" Horror was clear in his voice.
While all that was going on, Michelle was staring at the young master who had approached her. She liked challenges, but she didn’t like to be bothered while working.
Her gaze on the young master was calm, but her grip on the cup was so tight it was just a flicker away from shattering into dust.
But she wasn’t planning to cause trouble and attract attention. Not yet. So she didn’t give much of a reaction. "Young Master, I don’t have such a good eye to decide. All the ladies are dancing beautifully. I could say, I have never seen anyone more beautiful than them."
The answer surprised the young master a bit. He didn’t see a reason why someone wouldn’t answer his question. It seemed quite simple.
But it only seemed like that. In reality, it was a question designed to make the one answering the target of one group of people.
Out of the dancers, there were two distinctively good and beautiful, and on them, a member of the two big families had his eyes on. So if someone said he liked one of the two dancers, he would instantly turn into the man’s target.
Michelle suspected a scheme, so she avoided answering.
But the young master was persistent. "But, this young master, you must have someone you like the most. That’s human nature to pick a favorite. Who would that be?"
Michelle smiled and took a sip of her tea. It was time to do something. So while drinking, she briefly brushed against her disguise mask, and for a second, her appearance shifted slightly.
It was done in a way that no one other than the annoying young master would notice it.
Just like Michelle wanted, he saw it, and his eyes flickered with malice.
Quickly, he sat down next to Michelle and took her cup from her. "Young master, why do you keep drinking tea?" He suddenly changed the topic.
"How about having some good drinks with me?" With that, he clapped and a beauty brought a tray with two cups and a closed jar of something.
