The Evil Lord's Wife Has Spirit Blood -
Chapter 117
Chapter 117: 117
Taking off the disguise masks, the four plain people who seemed to have died in the mist just a moment ago turned back into Michelle, Ivona, Anastasia, and Kieran.
"I never knew Nyxaroth could do that..." Ivona mumbled. "And were the ashes just to fool them?" she asked, feeling a bigger conspiracy. In the end, Michelle did say that she would take care of poisoning everyone in the mansion, but they didn’t see her do anything like that yet.
Michelle retracted the black mist she created using her dark element and smiled a bit. "The ’ashes’ were a poisonous substance, solidified and ground into dust. Once anyone breathes the dust in, it will react to the wetness inside their nose and airways and turn into poisonous liquid, which will seep into their organs and spirit veins, at first just ruining their cultivation slowly, and when they become completely powerless, then they will die."
"Then, how will we operate in the poison?" Ivona asked with a tilt of her head. She wasn’t worried about being poisoned, as she knew that Michelle must have thought of a way to keep them safe.
Michelle reached into her sleeve and pulled out three small bottles. She handed one to each person. "Try to drink it. It’s going to be a bit uncomfortable, but it will protect you from the poison."
Without any hesitation, Ivona poured the liquid into her mouth and grimaced as it clung to the walls of her throat, refusing to go down.
"Now, try to breathe with your mouth," Michelle said as she watched Ivona’s grimacing face.
With a slight frown, Ivona opened her mouth, the liquid sticking to its walls, and tried to breathe in, but with the liquid blocking the connection of her mouth to her throat, she ended up inhaling through her nose. So she lifted her hand to block her nose and tried again. In an instant, she felt the liquid get sucked into her airways as she was finally able to breathe through her mouth. But it felt disgusting. Slowly, the liquid coated Ivona’s airways and spread even to the inside of her nose.
Seeing the effects, Anastasia and Kieran also drank the liquid, and the same thing happened to them, making them frown in disgust, Kieran a bit more than Anastasia.
Finally, Michelle took out another bottle and drank it too. Then, the four were prepared to continue. Michelle summoned the mist from her dark element again and used it to hide herself and her friends as they started sneaking towards the area with the most people.
There, everyone was running around in panic, trying to get away as three huge beasts—Snow, Mare, and Cold Flame—and a bunch of deadly black mist—Nyxaroth—rushed into the mansion. The beasts were safe from the poisonous dust in the air as it was a poison that only affected humans, so Michelle wasn’t worried about them, but before they started the destruction, she still gave them each the antidote, altered so it would work for beasts, and they all obediently took it.
All the beasts started killing the cultivators one by one, but they made sure to do it slowly, so they wouldn’t kill everyone, or Kieran, Ivona, and Anastasia would get angry at them, as they wanted to do some killing too.
While the beasts started organized chaos, Michelle and the rest split up to finish the destruction.
Soon, the people running around in the mansion realized that from the four corners of the mansion, blue fire was coming, swallowing up the fence walls first, blocking their escape routes.
"Get the water element Spirit Masters!" someone who had still retained some sanity quickly reacted and started shouting commands even before the elders could realize what was going on.
Very quickly, the water element Spirit Masters gathered by the walls and started shooting water at it, but the moment the water touched the blue flames, the water froze, forming an ice wall that only served as fuel for the fire.
Realizing that the fire was probably a type of ice attack, the commander quickly sent the water element Spirit Masters away and called for the fire element ones, who quickly stepped forward to fight against the blue flame. Just, it was a pity that the blue flame belonged to a White Vermilion Bird, which made it one of the strongest flames in the world, even though it was basically no longer a fire, since it didn’t have a single speck of the fire element.
Soon, the fire element Spirit Masters were overwhelmed by the blue flame, and while some saved their lives by quickly running away, some got seriously hurt, while others were swallowed up by the cold blue flames and turned into blocks of ice, which quickly fell apart.
Behind the walls, Michelle smiled coldly as she watched the blue flames stretch up to the sky like cold tongues wanting to lick the stars.
The cold fire was spreading into the mansion very slowly, but steadily, so the cultivators had to keep fighting against it with their fire element, not even realizing that they breathed in some black dust, which turned into a liquid when it came into contact with the mucus in their nose and airways, sticking to the walls of their throats and seeping into their blood.
Within the next few minutes, Cold Flame flapped his wings and picked up Snow and Mare, each with one clawed paw, bringing them over the flames behind the walls. Then, he came back, and Nyxaroth, still in the shape of a black mist but somehow solidified, floated to his back and let him carry him to Michelle. There, Kieran, Ivona, and Anastasia were already preparing for the last part of the plan.
From the start, they wanted Michelle to prepare a poison that would only kill the weakest of the cultivators, leaving the elders alive so they could deal with them personally. Though in the Land of Exile, every single cultivator from higher-ranked places had the same power, something like resistance to poison wasn’t restricted, so the originally more powerful ones were immune to Michelle’s poison. Just as she wanted.
Letting her beasts back into the contract space as they had already relieved their boredom, it was time for Michelle and the rest to start. They had already started the fire by wrapping a long rope created out of Cold Flame’s power around the whole mansion, so he, or his contracted master Michelle, could turn it into a burning flame any time they wished.
When the Spirit Masters within the mansion started realizing that their spirit energy was draining suspiciously quickly, they thought it was because of the flames, so they started pushing more scarlet fire against the blue flame to hold it back, but they noticed that just sped up the process of them losing their spirit energy, so some stopped and went to notify the elders.
Quickly, one of the elders came and poured his fire element spirit energy against the blue flame, and to everyone’s surprise, the blue flame retreated a bit. That added hope to the cultivators and elders, so more elders joined the first one to help him. They didn’t have the slightest clue that they were just falling deeper into Michelle’s trap.
After a while of letting the blue flame retreat, she made it flare out again even though a great number of elders were countering her cold fire with their normal flame, but she quickly overpowered them, and all the elders were blown away.
Falling down, the elders were shocked. Firstly, they had never come in contact with something as cold as the blue flames, and secondly, the fire started instantly spreading into the mansion at a dangerous speed. It was like the fire got angry that they tried to suppress it, or as if they were neglecting it.
Very quickly, the fire was so big that only a small space in the main garden of the mansion was left safe for the cultivators and elders to stay at without being burned by the fire. But the fire was still getting closer, and they still hadn’t found a method to save themselves.
But before the fireless circle got too small, the fire stopped spreading, and the shadow of a person appeared between the fire. Then, three more appeared, but they were covered by thick black mist, so they wouldn’t get hurt in the fire.
"Should we kill them all, or leave the elders alive for torture?" Ivona asked loudly with a smirk, her voice making the hearts of the cultivators and the elders shiver. Her voice carried a dark and ruthless aura, so everyone’s blood froze.
"Kill every last one of them!" Michelle said as she summoned her sickle and swung it toward the group of elders.
"How dare you!?" One of the elders let his guard down a bit when he realized that he was up against some young brats, but that was a mistake. Without Michelle even needing to do something, Kieran condensed a ball of spirit energy in his hand and rushed at the elder, slapping it into his face. In an instant, the ball exploded into brilliant scarlet fire, which engulfed the elder’s head before spreading to his whole body.
