Chapter 166: Nightmare (2)

Chapter 166: Nightmare (2)

Before he transmigrated... Arren was really Spade’s lover. Wait, he didn’t read it in the novel. Perhaps he wasn’t mentioned at all. Then, were Spade’s overlapping memories actually about the timeline where he was with the real Arren?

He didn’t know what to feel about these conjectures of his that were likely the truth. Then, where was the real Arren now?

Arren wasn’t able to think about it for long as he was carried inside by the men; his body was almost convulsing from his heat. His face was so enticing that the men that came with them swallowed a mouthful of saliva, averting their gazes, or he really would commit something that would have their heads cut from both ends.

He lay on the only sofa bed inside, trembling and already delirious. Arren knew that his mind only continued to be clear because he knew this was only a vivid dream. However, he didn’t know when he could last either. Like last time, he might become immersed again in this dream, confusing it with his current reality.

His dazed eyes were opened, but in others’ eyes, they were already lacking in sanity and light as tears still continued to pool on them, making his vision a bit blurry.

"Boss..." all of them echoed. Casual footsteps sounded before they stopped and were followed by a thud as the man who was groping Arren was already on the floor. He coughed blood soon after.

The other men could only gasp, but no one helped him either. Arren didn’t have any sympathy for him, instead, his eyes were focused on the man that arrived.

It was someone he knew, Curt! It was Curt.

Curt wiped his hand which was splattered with blood and glanced at Arren, who was already unconscious and groaning at the side before he looked at the men that brought Arren.

"Just be thankful, I only punched you. If the team leader knew what you did, you would already be in the sewer tomorrow." Curt calmly spoke. "Young Master Arren is not someone all of you lots can be tainted by." He is... a highly valuable individual that we are not qualified to touch." he continued, returning to glance at Arren.

What he said might be some respectable words, but Arren didn’t feel any of them. He was the same as everyone else, being malicious at his misfortune.

Curt looked at him for a few more seconds before averting his gaze and clearing his throat. It seemed even he was affected by Arren’s heat.

"The chaos that we caused to capture Young Master Arren will soon be discovered, and His Majesty’s forces will surely look for him anywhere. We have to be fast and bring him to the place that the team leader said." He then got something from his pocket and approached Arren on the sofa. Arren looked at it; it was a syringe.

Was he about to add another dosage? Were they crazy? Did they want him to overdose on this drug?

Only after the medicine took effect did he realize it was a suppressant. His heat somehow calmed down, and while he was still weak, the pain in his gut and the arousal that he was feeling had lessened.

"This dose was only right to suppress his heat for two hours before it flared up and he had to be injected again. And after that, he had to be injected with the heat inducer drug again before repeating the same process. We can’t afford for his heat to flare up this early or suppress his heat either." he instructed. At some point, another group arrived.

Curt continued, looking at Arren, who was beginning to calm down. His eyes flickered before a malicious smile curled on his lips. "After all, we are only here to deliver to His Excellency."

He stood up and let the new group of people carry Arren again. He stared at Curt; his heart was seething with rage. He didn’t care if this didn’t happen to him, but the real Arren, but still, he was still Arren! And knowing that Arren was subjected to this kind of torture, his heart was in pain, and he couldn’t help but cry inside.

It was truly horrible. Their plan was too vicious. No matter the heat-inducing drug or suppressant, they were all drugs that were harmful to the body. And what they had been doing was getting Arren addicted to the drug. Having overdosed or being dependent on drugs was his only outcome.

No one deserved this.

Yet, as much as Arren wanted to force himself to move and wriggle in an attempt to escape, he still couldn’t do anything besides watch the scene unfold and the doom that was waiting for him.

He was so pathetic and powerless that he couldn’t help but mourn for both of them.

Arren didn’t even know how long it had been since they departed from the first base where Curt was; even though he was sober earlier, he was also slowly becoming insane.

As Curt said, he was injected with suppressants and then the heat-inducer drugs again, and he was becoming numb about it. While he couldn’t move this body, it was still his body, and he could sense everything that Arren was feeling.

The hallucinations began to seep into his mind as well, and he knew it wouldn’t be long before he was also immersed in this memory like what happened last time.

He only hoped that Spade could wake him up and save him from this memory. Was it selfish of him if he wanted to be saved by Spade when the real Arren wasn’t saved by the alpha?

Arren was tossed and passed around as they discreetly departed from one base to another, being cautious. He didn’t know if they were still in the Empire or not.

A long time later, he was already so weak, he was lying down in the bed. He couldn’t see anymore and could barely hear anything. The drug practically made him useless. During the course of time, his heat was forced to flare up before it would be suppressed by the suppressants, repeating the same pattern. It was hell.

He was now numb, and Arren couldn’t remember his purpose. He blinked his eyes, but it was only a blurred image; he seemed to forget something, and he didn’t know what that was. But he knew that it was extremely important for him.

Yet with his condition, thinking was already a luxury. He just wanted to let everything stop. A few moments later, the bed moved, signaling that someone had sat on it.

He didn’t notice someone entering the room; his head tilted to the side, and he looked in its direction. It was blurred, but there was an outline of a man. Arren’s mouth parted as he smelled the scent of a dominant alpha’s pheromones coiling and trying to mix with his heat-filled pheromones.

"You’re finally here," a man’s voice sounded as he caressed Arren’s cheek.

And the moment that he heard this voice, Arren seemed to remember something, but not as well. Yet the deep fear that he had was triggered as he kept on shaking. He let out a sob, muttering an inaudible sound amidst his tears.

"Don’t cry..." he coaxed, "This is your destiny, a key for my new world. You are the key, my Arren. It should be your mother, but she’s now gone, and now... I can’t wait to mark you."
