The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra
Chapter 135: Encounter

Chapter 135: Encounter

They were in a small yacht, looking at the waters. Spade had a grim expression, and he seemed to be already at his boiling point with each minute that passed by.

He still wanted to be positive after his initial panic subsided—or, it should not be said, calmed down—but he could finally think rationally at least. So, while he was looking at the sea, he already sent some people to look around the island.

Spade knew there was also a possibility that when Arren finally realized that he had wandered too far from the shore, he would swim back, and he might have ended up in another part of the island.

He was searching at the sea and the island at the same time, however, he was more inclined to think that Arren already had come up in the other part of the island. Since he was here on a secret vacation, Spade didn’t want to cause as much commotion as possible.

But if he didn’t see Arren until tomorrow, he wouldn’t care anymore, and he would use every means to search every crook and cranny of this island to find him.

His eyes were dark, and his pheromones had long warded off the royal guards with him; they had been there for an hour and hadn’t found anyone. Spade wasn’t urging them anymore, unlike earlier when he almost shouted at them to hurry up; he was instead waiting for the news of the people he sent to the island.

It was already dark, and it was almost seven in the evening. Compared to the hot temperature when it was daytime, it was a bit cold in the evening. And with his emotions in disarray, the temperature seemed to drop even more in his vicinity.

Spade’s right hand was tightly clenched into a fist; bulging veins surfaced on it while his left hand was gripping the railings. He was still tense and extremely worried about the situation with his omega.

However, more than that, a kind of guilt and self-blame were rooted inside of him. Spade’s mind was so chaotic that there were what-ifs lingering around.

He had been too negligent—if only he hadn’t let Arren swim and play around by himself. Or if only he guarded him more closely and constantly reminded him not to wander too far. He was aware that the omega could sometimes easily be immersed to the spur of the moment and forget about whatever was around him.

And yet he was too calm and confident. He was relaxed the whole time and trusted that nothing would go wrong. He knew it was safe; otherwise, he wouldn’t let Arren play around too much by himself.

Spade bit his lips, and his eyes flashed heavily. He had been indulging Arren, and that was because he didn’t want the omega to feel caged with him. Even though as a dominant alpha like himself, it was easy to be controlled by their alpha instincts and the nature of their possessiveness and overprotectiveness towards their omegas.

However, he still managed to keep it at bay most of the time. Spade knew too well that Arren was someone who wouldn’t want to be controlled or imprisoned by his identity or relationships; he longed for freedom and to experience the outside world. He was afraid that once he had already tightened his grip on Arren because of his possessiveness, it might trigger something irreversible instead.

Arren was so precious to Spade that he was willing to give him anything he wanted. There was no way he would force him to do something or even forbid him just because he thought it was not good for him.

His mind was now conflicted, making his headache. The feelings of self-blame, worry, and even regret were mixed up inside of him. His brows were furrowed, and he frowned as his head throbbed from all the thoughts that came across inside his head.

Was he wrong? Did he need to change something? Spade never thought that he was doing something wrong in how he handled his relationship with Arren. It wasn’t bad that he put what was good for Arren and what he wanted as his first priorities.

However, this incident made him complicated on the inside. Was his way of doing things the right way? Or was he already indulging him too much? Spade didn’t want to think about it like that, but once he found him, he would have a long talk about it with the omega.

For now, he sighed heavily and, despite his aching head, turned around and looked at Levin, who was there standing a few steps away from him.

"He’s on the island," he said, and he looked into Levin’s eyes, observing him from his oppressive gaze, before he ordered, "Make them retreat."

There was no use looking around in the sea; the work was for those searching for Arren on the island. Spade averted his eyes and returned to his front, looking at the sky.

It was destined to be a sleepless night. He sighed inwardly.

And while Spade was looking for him and was already planning to talk to him about his tendency to be too carefree, Arren was sitting on the stone bench, looking pitiful at the corner.

Arren already cursed himself too many times for being an idiot, but it wasn’t like wallowing in his suffering could help him in his situation. He had long thought of seeking someone out and repeated how he could use his charms to hoodwink some people.

However, his face was just a walking billboard. Who knew if someone recognized him and got a photo of him, then posted it on social media with the caption, ’The future empress was spotted hoodwinking for money on the street’.

Just thinking about it, he could already know it was another black history that would give him a social death. That was his biggest problem; all his ideas seemed not to be feasible at all.

He needed money. Everything could become simple after that. Perhaps he could use the towel to mask himself? But would anyone report him for being suspicious? Yeah, that was definitely possible.

Still, he had to try. He stood in his position. His clothes had now become dry, and the white towel was draped over his head. Arren wasn’t too conspicuous, as he still acted casual and like a tourist, so no one was paying attention to him.

His eyes roamed around, and he observed the people in his way. In fact, he didn’t even have a place in mind. In any case, he was used to not having any plans and going with the flow. Arren soon became comfortable, and no one would even notice he was there to find any victims—well, he meant a new friend to talk to and treat him to some soda.

It was already somehow noisy, but it wasn’t too crowded at all, and the people were scattered. Arren had a hunch that the tourists went to the center, where the first-class restaurants and bars were located.

As he was walking casually and simply looking around, he suddenly caught a glimpse of someone as he froze and looked for a few seconds to confirm before he sat at one of the outdoor tables of a restaurant. It was also a little awkward as someone was also occupying it and eating.

He only smiled at the elderly man, who seemed to be an omega, before he lowered his head; his mind had become active.

Fuck! It was Curt! He was here! Arren had an impression of his face as he was part of the secret investigation team; Curt’s face was no secret to him, and he saw it in one of the files and made sure he was familiar with that face. The person’s hair might have been dyed blond, but it was no different for him.

Arren couldn’t believe that he would encounter the cockroach in this place. For some reason, he didn’t know if he was lucky or extremely unlucky.
