Chapter 735: Chapter 735 Shameless to Death (8)_1

Pei Qian stomped her foot in frustration, "Sister’s gone stupid from pregnancy! Teaching that kind of people!?"

"Madam was just bored, that’s why she listened to them babble for most of the day," Zhang Gengshan said as he bowed and withdrew.

If it weren’t for her elder sister being pregnant, Pei Qian wouldn’t have let her stay at home ’bored out of her mind’! She went to the backyard with an ugly expression, and upon seeing that Pei Qin had not yet gone to sleep, she approached with a scowl to interrogate, "What have you taught the Feng family now? Sesame flatbread, noodle dishes, even letting them open a noodle shop in the county town, are you planning to give them the kimchi too!?"

"No!" Pei Qin looked up.

"You still dare say no!? They’re coming to learn tomorrow!" Pei Qian exclaimed angrily.

Pei Qin responded, "They’re coming to learn how to make noodles and flatbreads. I was thinking, since they don’t like making kimchi and don’t want to wait another two years for the sweet potato flour market to develop and to start a workshop, I thought they might as well open a restaurant! Take back the kimchi workshop!"

"You even want to let them open a sweet potato flour workshop!?" Pei Qian asked with widened eyes.

"Sweet potato flour can only be made in winter, and no matter how rushed, one workshop can’t supply the sales everywhere." That’s why Pei Qin had originally thought that once the Feng family became more honest, she would let them start a sweet potato flour workshop in a couple of years.

"No teaching! What relation are they to us!? They just know how to scheme, cry poor, and take advantage! Why teach them!?" Pei Qian firmly disagreed. She shrugged her shoulders suspiciously and asked, "Are you really taking back the kimchi workshop?"

"Up to you! But we don’t have to make too much kimchi this year; we’ve added radishes, and it’s not even certain how much we’ll sell." This year they had added spicy radishes. Last year she made a jar, and it was quite tasty, all eaten by her own family.

Pei Qian thought it over and decided to give the task of catching bamboo rats and wild rabbits to Sun Tiezhu, and she wouldn’t go the next day. The cabbages had already been harvested and would soon be delivered; she was also about to start the kimchi workshop.

When Fang Hui and Li Hualing came over again, the first thing they saw was Pei Qian’s chilling face, her stern eyes.

Fang Hui’s heart skipped a beat.

Li Hualing’s expression paused for a moment, and she greeted with a careful smile, "Cousin Qian!"

Pei Qian snorted coldly, "If you want to learn how to make noodle dishes and sesame flatbreads, come with me!" She refrained from saying more.

Fang Hui and Li Hualing hadn’t even entered the house when they were led by her to the noodle shop, where Zhao’s family sisters-in-law were learning.

Pei Qin had come over yesterday to tell them, and the Zhao’s family sisters-in-law greeted with smiles, introduced several types of noodle dishes, explained how each was made, and then began teaching them the dough-making process.

Pei Qian watched for a while and then turned away to leave. This year she had to make spicy radishes; she still needed to organize people to collect them.

Li Hualing did indeed have a knack for cooking, and within two days she learned how to use the noodle machine and returned to learn how to make sesame flatbreads.

Making the dough for flatbreads required physical strength, and after doing it repeatedly, Li Hualing felt she might not be able to keep up, so she discussed with Fang Hui and Feng Shouxing the idea of opening a noodle shop, and have Feng Bo come back. Working as a helper in someone else’s shop was no solution, nor was it their own. If they could expand the noodle shop, maybe open branches, he could manage them later on.

Fang Hui also felt it embarrassing for her eldest son to be working as a helper outside; both families aspired for scholarship and officialdom. If her son couldn’t even manage a workshop and had to run errands for others, when would he ever make something of himself?

So they called Feng Bo back, saying the family was planning on opening a noodle shop.

Feng Bo wasn’t pleased upon hearing it was just a noodle shop, "Just a small noodle shop, can’t a few family members handle it? What’s there to manage?"

Fang Hui wanted him to come back and take charge, "What’s dignified about running errands for others, being summoned and called upon? Isn’t it better to be the shopkeeper, the boss in our own shop? Isn’t that better than being outside?"
