Chapter 484: Chapter 484: The Ruthless Woman (4)_1
Mo Heng whispered a thanks to the doctor and rose to leave the clinic.
Pei Qin, with a gloomy expression and furrowed brows, followed him out, asking Mo Heng to wait for a moment while she took Lu Hai to the Wang family.
"Young Master?" Feng Wei asked, looking at Mo Heng with inquiry.
Mo Heng’s gaze lingered on her retreating figure. He lifted his tightly bandaged hand, deep in thought and remained silent.
Pei Qin rarely sought help from others, but Mo Heng’s hand couldn’t really be left to waste. The Wang family was wealthy and influential in Runing Prefecture and surely knew many doctors with superior medical skills.
Wang Ting had thought she came to visit him and was somewhat disappointed to discover that wasn’t the case.
Old Master Wang, hearing that Pei Qin was seeking a doctor, instructed the steward to lead her to one.
The doctor was the Wang family’s personal physician, who didn’t tend to outsiders, only members of the Wang family. Pei Qin explained Mo Heng’s injury to him and, after some discussion, requested he come and examine Mo Heng’s hand.
Lu Hai knew that Pei Qin appeared easy to talk to and carefree, but in reality, she had both pride and arrogance. The way the Wang family looked down upon her had gradually cooled her relations with them, shifting towards strictly business cooperation. For Mo Heng’s sake, she didn’t think twice before directly seeking help from the Wang family.
The doctor came over and was also somewhat taken aback by Mo Heng’s stunning appearance. There were no shortage of handsome individuals amongst the Wang family’s relations, with Zhang Yan being one of the most distinguished. Several of the younger masters were also handsome, but he hadn’t expected to see a man of such beauty.
Pei Qin looked on speechlessly, no wonder the blind man didn’t go out even after recovering his sight. With a face like that, if he were to wander out, he’d probably cause a traffic jam! In a modern open society, confronted by crazed fans, he might even be attacked.
The doctor glanced at Pei Qin, puzzled by her connections. Young Master Shen was a valued son of the Shen family, and this young master had to be of no ordinary status as well.
Pei Qin interjected from the side, "Doctor! Please examine his hand first."
The doctor agreed, unwrapped the gauze from the hand, and after a careful examination, said with apology, "I can heal this injury, but the severed tendons cannot be joined back as before. Even with the best medicine, after healing, it won’t be as flexible as it once was."
"Will this affect holding a pen?" Feng Wei hurried to ask.
"This..." The doctor touched his graying beard and shook his head. Not only would it affect, the impact would be significant.
At least he knew a way to treat the injury and ensure it healed faster and wasn’t as severe. Pei Qin immediately had him prepare medicine and perform acupuncture on Mo Heng’s hand.
Throughout the process, Mo Heng remained silent, his face sweating with pain and ghostly pale.
Pei Qin took out three hundred Silver Taels and some Silver Pieces. Once the doctor had finished the treatment, she directly gave him an ingot of silver and then went to get the medicine.
Seeing her busy running errands, Feng Wei, despite feeling resentful, refrained from showing it.
The group hadn’t eaten yet. After collecting the medicine, Pei Qin bought a lot of breakfast and returned to the small courtyard where Mo Heng had previously stayed.
Lu Hai, looking at this small courtyard, kept thinking about how Pei Qin had been affected by the Aphrodisiac and brought here by Mo Heng.
They ate their breakfast silently. Pei Qin had also prepared the medicine. She brought it over, and seeing that he didn’t move, she indicated to him, "You can drink it now."
Mo Heng looked at her in silence, "Tongue hurts."
Pei Qin frowned; he hadn’t injured his tongue! After a moment’s thought, her expression darkened. Seeing his innocent appearance, she couldn’t help grinding her teeth and said in a low voice, "So many days have passed, hurts my ass!"
Mo Heng silently picked up the medicine bowl, waiting until it was nearly cool before downing it in one gulp.
After watching him drink the medicine, Pei Qin pursed her lips and asked, "Is this small courtyard yours, or is it rented?" The earnings from selling dictionaries weren’t much, certainly not enough to buy a courtyard. To say it was rented, were they doing charity, seldom living here even once in eight hundred years?
