Lady Fang took over the task, plucking the chicken, cleaning it, chopping it into pieces, marinating it briefly, and then putting it on the stove to stew.

The kitchen was small, patched together with wooden planks and cornstalks. The aroma of the chicken meat spread quickly, wafting over to the nearby households.

Grandma Miao, smelling the scent of the chicken outside, walked around twice, swallowing her saliva continuously, unable to enter, cursing Si Ya under her breath for locking the door.

But such comforting words couldn’t counter the constant drift of meaty aroma.
