Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Burst You (3)_1

Wang Ting, hearing that she had finally arrived, excitedly dashed out to see her standing in the doorway, a skateboard tucked under her arm, sizing up the stone lions at the entrance. He came to a halt, pulled a face, and huffed angrily, "What a liar! You promised to teach me, but these past few days I haven’t even seen your face! Don’t you want to sell that skateboard of yours!?"

"My family just set up a noodle stall, so I’ve been quite busy these past few days." Pei Qin laughed, lifting the noodles in her hand, "Héluó noodles, want to try some?"

"What kind of héluó noodles!?" Wang Ting glanced over, dissatisfied.

Pei Qin climbed the steps and walked in with him, "Isn’t this just my being late! I was worried you wouldn’t care to feed me lunch, so I brought my own noodles. Later, I’ll borrow your kitchen to cook them for me!"

"Who said not coming for several days means not caring to feed you!" Wang Ting huffed again, yet snatched the basket from her hands, peeking inside to find the noodles were thick, round, and faintly yellow, "What kind of noodles are these? Rolled by hand?" He remembered doing something similar when playing with mud in the summertime.

"How about I borrow the kitchen, eat up, and then teach you?" Pei Qin raised an eyebrow.

Wang Ting was curious, his expression a begrudging agreement, "Fine! I’ll take you to the kitchen!"

The Wang family’s estate was vast, with just the front courtyard housing several yards in the eastern and western wings, in addition to the main house. There were rockeries, flowing water, pavilions, and towers. It took Pei Qin and Wang Ting, master and servant, over fifteen minutes just to reach the main kitchen.

Upon hearing Wang Ting’s command, the steward at the stove gave up a spot for Pei Qin, "Be quick about it! We’re busy cooking here and will need it soon!"

Pei Qin expressed her thanks and set to work swiftly. Before long, the fragrant smell of fried egg and pork héluó noodles wafted from the pot.

Wang Ting saw the noodles become even thicker and rounder once cooked, the steam rising up, and the golden fried egg on the side, secretly swallowing his saliva, "Does it taste good?"

Seeing him eager to eat, the kitchen steward quickly stopped him, "Young Master! We’ll be serving food in a moment!" She couldn’t let the young master eat noodles of such unknown provenance!

The more she tried to stop him, the more Wang Ting wanted to eat. He pushed away her hand, "Serve your young master a bowl as well!"

Pei Qin served him a bowl with a smile.

Ignoring the protests, Wang Ting began to eat with his chopsticks. After a bite of noodles, he critiqued, "Something’s a bit off about the taste of these noodles!"

Scared, the servants, butler, and cook woman nearby all looked worried, fearing something had been added to the noodles.

However, he continued to eat, undeterred, and finished off the entire bowl of héluó noodles.

Butler Wang came over quickly, eyeing the leftovers carefully and finding nothing amiss. However, he still remained wary of Pei Qin. Indeed, this young lady was quite cunning, using their young master and doing business with the Wang family.

Pei Qin rolled her eyes silently, "That’s the héluó noodles from my family’s stall. If you get sick, come find me!"

The meal was served, but Wang Ting was already full. He pulled Pei Qin along, insisting she teach him immediately, "I’ve nearly got it down by myself without your help these past few days!"

Pei Qin handed him the skateboard for a try. He could only stand on it with one foot, the other sliding along the ground to push himself forward. When he tried to stand with both feet, the skateboard would stop. Pei Qin couldn’t help but laugh, causing Wang Ting’s face to turn red with embarrassment and anger, which was when she finally began explaining the tricks of skateboarding to him.

Soon after, Wang Nuo and Zhang Yan came by too.

Seeing the new, painted skateboard, Wang Nuo immediately switched to the new one, "Brother Ting! What sort of héluó noodles did you eat to be so full?"

"They were round, thick noodles," Wang Ting replied, focusing intently on the skateboard beneath Pei Qin’s feet.

Wang Nuo hadn’t had any and was quite curious.
