Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Sealed Goddess
"Hahaha! Destroy them! This is a guaranteed victory!"
The Demon Lord’s voice boomed across the battlefield like a war drum, shaking the heavens.
At his command, the hordes of demons roared as one. Claws tore across scorched earth, wings thundered against the air, and a chorus of snarls and shrieks erupted like a storm of bloodlust.
"Hold the line!"
"Kill them! Don’t let them through!"
Knights of the Holy Church met the charge head-on. Swords clashed, divine aura burst like lightning, and the battlefield became a storm of steel, screams, and misted blood. Bodies fell in droves, holy and hellish alike.
Amid the chaos, Selena’s eyes locked onto a figure hovering above the battlefield.
Kharzun.
The Demon Lord’s presence was suffocating. His aura weighed on every soul, and the demons below bowed to him like he was a god.
Her grip tightened on the hilt of her sword, fury burning through her veins.
Who the hell is this bastard? Why do they worship him like that...?
Then—she saw it.
An opening.
With a burst of divine aura, Selena launched herself forward. She leapt over corpses and craters, blade gleaming, eyes fixed on Kharzun’s heart.
But just as her blade drew close—
He smirked.
"Tch."
A flick of his hand.
A blast of invisible force crashed into her like a battering ram, hurling her across the battlefield.
"Urgh—!"
She slammed into the ground, coughing blood, her vision swimming in and out of focus.
Kharzun floated lazily above, his eyes glowing with cold amusement.
"A weak Saint... trying to touch me?" he scoffed. "Pathetic."
His laugh, low and cruel, echoed across the sky.
All around her, more demons surged toward her broken form.
High above, atop a mountain overlooking the slaughter, Drakon stood still—silent.
Until he saw her fall.
His jaw clenched. Fists trembled at his sides.
The fury inside him boiled.
Zakar stood beside him and immediately noticed.
"Drakon—wait!"
He stepped forward, panic in his voice.
"You can’t go down there! If Kharzun senses your rank, our entire plan is ruined! He can’t know who you are yet!"
But Drakon didn’t respond.
His eyes blazed. His foot slid forward.
Then—
He vanished.
"Damn it!" Zakar cursed, grabbing at empty air.
"He’s blown everything...!"
Drakon cut through the smoke like a black comet, aura roaring around him. Demons shrieked and scattered, unable to withstand the sheer pressure of his descent.
Kharzun turned just in time.
"What—?"
BOOM!
Drakon’s fist collided with his face mid-air. The impact sent the Demon Lord spiraling like a meteor, crashing into the side of a distant cliff.
The sky trembled.
The battlefield went still.
Then—
A shockwave erupted, shattering the cliffside into rubble. Kharzun’s body embedded deep in the stone, smoke swirling around him.
High above, Drakon hovered—cold and silent, his eyes glowing like burning rubies.
Far below, Kharzun stirred, unscathed. Slowly, he raised his head, cracked a twisted smile, and locked eyes with Drakon.
"...Drakon?"
His voice echoed—venomous and disbelieving.
"You dare lay a hand on me, you whelp?!"
Kharzun rocketed from the cliff, rubble crumbling beneath him as he flew to meet Drakon face-to-face. His crimson eyes burned with rage.
Drakon didn’t flinch. The aura around him thickened, black and storm-like, suffocating the air itself.
Kharzun’s fury shifted to amused revelation. He placed a hand over his forehead and chuckled darkly.
"Heh... to think... you deceived me."
His grin widened.
"You’ve been hiding your true rank... A General?! All this time?"
But his amusement vanished in a blink. His voice dropped, cold and sharp.
"Still beneath me."
His eyes narrowed, blazing with contempt.
"You dare betray your father? Betray me? To side with the Saints?"
Lightning cracked across the sky.
Drakon’s voice came low and growling—restrained, yet thunderous.
"That man... was never my father," he said. "And he never treated my mother like his wife."
Kharzun blinked.
Then laughed.
A cold, cruel laugh that echoed like death itself.
"Ah... the half-blood curse."
"Emotions. Love. Family." He scoffed. "Pathetic illusions."
His gaze dropped to the battlefield—right to the struggling form of Selena, barely able to stand.
She wiped blood from her mouth and met Drakon’s eyes.
Is that... him?The student who once beat me in training...?A demon...?
Kharzun noticed her stare.
"Tch. The little Saint’s still breathing?"
He raised a hand high, dark energy swirling around his arm. Violet lightning crackled above him like judgment from the abyss.
"Let me fix that."
"No!" Drakon roared.
In an instant, he was gone.
Then—there.
Shielding Selena with his body, arms wrapped tightly around her. A dome of writhing dark mana surged around them as the lightning fell.
"That flimsy shield won’t save you." Kharzun snarled.
The sky flashed.
CRACK!
The lightning struck. The dome cracked like glass under a hammer.
Selena gasped. But there was no pain—only warmth.
Drakon held her closer, head bent low.
"Don’t look," he whispered.
"Stay behind me."
The shield buckled.
Then—
Light blazed.
A golden figure appeared before them, hands outstretched, divine mana exploding in radiant waves.
Ishara had arrived.
The High Saint of the Church.
Golden aura clashed against the violet lightning, and thunder roared like the heavens were warring above.
Kharzun’s face contorted. He poured more mana into the storm, but Ishara stood strong—until cracks split her golden barrier.
"Ugh—!"
A spear of lightning broke through, piercing her chest.
"Mother!!" Selena screamed.
Kharzun laughed triumphantly—until he felt it.
Above, the sky pulsed. Strange runes glowed across the heavens—a sealing formation.
His smile dropped.
"No..."
Veins bulged on his face.
"You sealed Elarion itself?! YOU DARE?!"
"GRRAAAHHH!!!"
He roared in fury, but he didn’t strike. His eyes burned with hatred as he glared up at the glowing sigils.
Below, Ishara collapsed to her knees, pale and trembling.
"Mom!" Selena broke free from Drakon’s arms and rushed to her.
"I’m okay..." Ishara whispered, forcing a weak smile. "Just a scratch..."
The battlefield had stilled. The demons stopped moving.
Kharzun raised a hand.
"Retreat!"
The horde vanished into mist, fleeing into the distance like fading nightmares.
Selena clutched her mother tightly.
Far across the field, Mia dropped to her knees, breath ragged.
"I’m out of mana..." she whispered.
Silence fell.
Only the groans of the wounded and the sobs of survivors remained.
Above Elarion’s sealed skies, in a vast void where divine energies stirred like storms, Shiva floated effortlessly. In his arms, he gently cradled a woman cloaked in serene radiance—Parvati.
He smiled, a rare softness in his eyes.
"Parvati... I guess we did it."
Parvati looked up at him, her own smile tender and full of pride.
"Yes, Shiva. We did it."
Beside them, another figure hovered—cloaked in a storm-gray mantle, his one eye burning with wisdom. Odin, the Allfather, exhaled deeply.
"This Elarion consciousness... it’s more stubborn than I expected. It nearly drained all of my divine essence. and also force me to use runes"
A crackle of thunder signaled the arrival of another god—Zeus, radiating raw power. He stood arrogantly, a woman with flowing black hair wrapped around his arm.
He grinned.
"Hah! Looks like the Norse gods are weaker than I thought."
Odin turned to him with a knowing smile, undisturbed by the jab.
"Perhaps. But while you have brute strength and a brain full of lust, I wield magic and foresight. In wisdom, I surpass you."
Zeus scowled.
"What did you just say?"
The air sparked with tension as the divine aura of both gods began to flare.
Shiva sighed, placing a calming hand on Parvati’s shoulder.
"Enough. We’ve already succeeded in sealing Elarion—for now. There’s no need to quarrel over egos."
With a graceful motion, he clasped Parvati’s hand. Their forms shimmered, fading into cosmic light as they vanished from the heavens.
Odin watched silently, stroking his beard.
Zeus simply scoffed, tightening his hold on the woman beside him, then turned his gaze back toward Elarion.
After the gods vanished, silence returned to the void beyond Elarion.
But peace was fleeting.
A ripple tore through the fabric of space, and from the tear stepped a woman in a flowing silver dress, her presence otherworldly, her expression twisted in wrath.
She floated above the sealed world, eyes glowing with obsession.
"Did they really seal it?" she hissed, her voice trembling with rage."Did they seal my Himeros’ future wife’s realm?"
Her pink hair fluttered in the divine wind as her lips curled into a manic grin. She tilted her head slowly, the madness gleaming in her eyes.
"How dare they?!" she snapped."How can I meet her now? She’s mine—mine alone! I will take her! I will!"
Her voice cracked with obsession, but her tone softened into a twisted sweetness as she placed one hand gently under her chin, gazing longingly at Elarion, now encased in runes of divine sealing.
"My wife..." she whispered, almost reverently."She doesn’t even know me yet... but she will."
Suddenly, her form flickered—her body growing translucent. Her smirk faltered. She looked down at her fading hands, then back at the sealed realm below.
The hunger in her gaze didn’t fade. It only deepened.
"Tch. Looks like my time is up... for now."
Her silver eyes burned one last time with longing.
"But don’t worry, wife...""I’ll come for you. I will definitely come."
With that, her form disintegrated into mist, carried away by the silence of the void.
