Chapter 115: 115. I’ll make him beg me.
Of course she had been scared but it was a one night only fear! Just that one night when it had happened. If she even thought about it more, she was more shocked than scared that night, albeit the fear was still there.
But not until the next morning when she woke up to find the spot next to her cold and empty, did a new wave of emotions completely different from fear begin to wash over her.
The more she thought about the entire night the more ridiculous it seemed to her. Aside from the fact that he had somehow found out that she had met up with her lover, he didn’t seem too sure about her entire visit. He just seemed to have a clue of the matter. And when he had talked about her lips being kissed and it being obvious, maybe her lips were swollen. Was that how he guessed she had been with someone else?
Then if that was all he had over her, just a swollen lip, why then was he going so far as to punish her by concluding by himself that she had slept with another man!
And as if his not entirely false accusations was not enough, he could not even apologize for his rude and barbaric behavior toward her! How could he treat her, a national treasure with such roughness and force? If she hadn’t pleaded with him, he really would have gone all the way!
The more she thought about it, the more she got angry for pleading with him. If anyone should be sorry, he should be the one! She never wanted the marriage in the first place, kissing her lover was no big deal! How dare he in his twisted brain think and conclude that she had done more than just kiss and then go on to punish her for his own dirty thoughts.
The more she thought about it, the more she was angered by the fact that she did not actually get to do the things he had accused her of. She should have just asked Lyle to sleep with her!
"I cannot believe the nerve of this man, after what he did to me last night. He does not have the decency to stay by my side till I awoke so he could apologize?! He upped and left like nothing happened!" She had hissed and humphed that morning.
She tried getting it out of her head, but she just couldn’t. The fact that he left that morning without even waiting for her to even try and discuss the matter with a much more rational mind, and then apologize to her only showed that he felt no remorse for what he did and it made her mad!
She wanted him to beg too. The way she had pleaded with him that night, she wanted him to also come to her and plead for her forgiveness for his misbehavior.
So yes, she had come up with the simple wise plan to make him feel sorry for her, also hating himself at the same time. He had told her himself, she was a brilliant starlet. It had been a while since she put on a good show, for his sake she would give another brilliant performance.
She wanted to make him feel bad for what he did to her, wanted him to believe she was struggling because of what he did, she wanted to make him feel uncomfortable with himself...
Well, she didn’t think it would take this long!
When she started the act, pretending to be deeping scared and traumatized by his actions, she thought by the end of the first day, he’d come to her with an apology. She made sure to stay in his sight all through the day, be it the training ground, his study that she didn’t know he had, his library, the garden.
She was everywhere, but she acted in a way that made her seem distant in his eyes. When he was at the training ground, she would slowly pass by like a warm slow breeze brushing past him, looking dejected and in pain. If he was in his study, she would sit underneath a tree that was adjacent to the window of his study, never once glancing his way, but knowing fully well that he had his eyes on her.
But then, the day came to an end and she didn’t receive an apology! The nerve of the man! The audacity. When she woke up the next day, he was gone again. Without begging for her forgiveness!
And so she continued her act, and a week quickly went by without any progress. A week turned into two weeks and the third week was already running out and she was yet to receive that apology!
During that time, she had not met with Lyle of course, seeing how her dear husband reacted that night, she could not risk him figuring out who or where her lover was. Instead they stuck to sharing information through the carrier dove that Neriah had named Stacy.(Not really considering if it was male or female.)
For now she had given him the information she had been able to gather, which was really nothing important. To be honest, all she could give him was information of Barak’s time on the training ground. She was not certain about any other routine outings because he didn’t seem to have any.
And also she could not get closer to him as Lyle had told her to because she was currently acting scared and traumatized!
And dear goddess it was going nowhere!
One night she had suddenly remembered what Barni had translated for her that day she fought with Rakima. And she was sincerely curious about that so she decided to ask.
Who would have known that it would pave an opening for more acting and at last, the long awaited scene... Her husband pleading to have her forgiveness!
Victory at last!
