In the shadows, listening intently to Siamon’s report, Kaisun trembled with rage, yelling with agony. Fury was raw and scorching in his veins, burned through him wildly, clawing at his sanity as this one was inexplicable.

He was walking among the shadows, slowly. He didn’t rush, tons of thoughts were swirling in his mind. If it was a normal situation, he would have killed the King instantly after knowing he had been playing with him for about seventy years. The freak hadn’t aged the slightest since he was twenty-five, he should have known something was wrong, and it was not just his bond with Sunkiath that slowed his aging.

He took in the extravagant chamber, gold-framed velvet, a bed made of rare wood carved with gold layers, and luxurious decadence, and his jaw tightened with revulsion. The boy he once nurtured and conducted had fallen into corruption’s embrace. Something wicked had poisoned Benkin’s heart, twisting innocence into malevolence. Kai was once attracted to his charm and purity but now all he saw was a nasty hobby. He was infertile but made the woman drink that potion. Still brutally clever!

After leaving him to fight the war in Thegara, something occurred to this man. He had done something far worse than depravity, something unforgiving that cost him his sanity, his pure heart that once attracted him now was stunk.

"Is this the King’s bedchamber or a brothel?"

Kai nagged as he walked out of the dark shadow, his face etched with something dark and unreadable, making the King frown.

"Should you not knock before entering?"

King Benkin saw the red streaks in those glowing golden eyes, and that mocking chuckle in his response, why was he here like this? He looked different, darker than the previous meeting.

"You didn’t hurt her, did you?" His voice shivered. King Benkin stared at the bold figure, his bravado faltering at the sinister form before him. Something was wrong with the perverse.

Kai raised his brow, his stance deceptively relaxed, and put his arms behind him, tilting his head as he approached the bed, "Lust, I feel the reek scent of too much lust."

"Answer my question, Kaisun! What did you do to her? Is she alive?"

Kai snorted and playfully shrugged, "Why should I tell you? What is so significant about my wife that terrifies you this much? Are you hiding something?"

The King’s face grew pale, "You can smell lust, that’s your Shadow. You’ve awakened the power of Shadow."

Kai rolled his eyes away and let the shadow out in the form of a wolf.

The King stumbled backward, suddenly his eyes changed color from brown to a yellow-gold color.

"Uhmm," Kai approached him while Shadow was wandering around the King, "Sunkiath’s magic cannot save you from Shadow. I can send you to my father as an offering right now for all the lies you have been feeding me with."

Kai breathed between his gritted teeth, blaming himself for believing in this King of House Dorient, who was just like the others, choked with all types of lust and deterioration. But this one had even committed a bigger crime.

"Even as who I was born to be, I never hurt a sacred Fae! You fucking deceitful runt."

The King froze. His rage, fear, everything was just suppressed with a single hint of that aching, devastating fact. His eyes dimmed again.

"That was you who helped Anarya to escape. You were the one sending my cousin to her death, Fucker Dragon King!" Kai clenched his fists, scarcely attempting not to wipe this filth from the ground.

"Put the fucking blame on your father." The King uttered tiredly.

Kai moved back, turning around he sent Shadow inside. The candles lit up again, and at the same time, Kai spun around and his fist kissed the King in the face. His lips split and blood gushed out, but he didn’t even move to retaliate.

"Anarya, how did you kill the daughter of the Fae King?" His voice was thick with the lump clogged in his throat, "She was the one who saved me from my father. I loved her so much, she was like a mother to me. It was my fault to tell you about her." He felt guilty.

"I loved her with my whole heart, Kaisun." The King confessed to his biggest and most dangerous secret.

Kai turned around again, his expression tortured. "Shut up, it’s because of you that she’s gone. You betrayed her. She was burned into ash. What did you do to her? Did she die saving your fucking ass?"

"No!" The grief gripped his throat, making him unable to think through.

"Tell me, I am not patient." Kai snarled, his voice shaking with barely contained violence, "How did you kill her? Because I intend to repay your niece with the same kindness."

"Listen, I loved Anarya!" His eyes filled with pain at that confession.

"You touched her, didn’t you?" Kai was ready to kill him.

"We got married."

Shock radiated in Kai’s spine, "You did what?"

A marriage between a high Fae and a human was forbidden. Impossible! The King stood up, the truth was so heavy that made him stumble to the wall.

"Follow me!" He demanded and stopped in front of a drawing frame, twisting the frame, a wall moved.

Kai felt his heartbeat throbbing in his head. Something annoying expected him in that dark secret room, and he could feel it with every fiber of his being. Anyway, he followed that bastard.

There was only a shelf in the room. A golden chest with a dragon carving was on it. The King opened it and walked away.

"She was my wife. And your father was our marriage witness. We got married nineteen years ago after I was a conqueror."

Kai froze as he held the scroll, why was it still vague? Why did his father want to make Benkin a conqueror? Sunkiath wasn’t a hell dragon. It was a dragon from the Fae realm. "A fucking demon god was the witness of a sacred marriage between a human and a High Fae, what else?" His rage was at the edge.

"He deceived me. He gave me Sunkiath to become a conqueror and save my father’s legacy. He promised me Anarya and I was in love with her already because of what you said about her."

"You rode to the Fae realm with Sunkiath, lured her, and stole her, didn’t you?"

The King nodded, "I’ve wanted her ever since you told me about her. I wanted someone pure in the corrupted world I was born into. How would I know that your father had corrupted my soul the moment he bound me to Sunkiath."

"Did she know?"

The King confirmed with a nod, "Our marriage was forbidden. He was the only one who mocked the Fae King’s law."

Kai read the deal that King Benkin had made with his father and his eyes widened with dread. Anarya lived with him, secretly.

"You fucking promised your daughter to his son..." Realization hit him like rumbling thunder and a sharp pain assaulted his heart. Shadow screamed in his head. Even he couldn’t take this. Anarya was pregnant when they got married!

"Lutherieth wants your daughter... and if your daughter is..."

He spun around, tears filling his eyes, "Reneira is Anarya’s daughter?"

That silence between them was louder than any cry that one could ever voice. Those bright blue eyes, the dark wavy hair, that beauty... the kindness. The will to save others... she was certainly her daughter.

"Are you going to torture her now, because of my fault?"
