Chapter 239: save him.

Chapter 239: save him.

Grammar-unedited.

The day to meet the enemy’s leaders in the Crystal Mountains arrived. Sunkiath and Ogain perched on a huge stone platform.

King Benkin and Gloria dismounted and strode down, standing next to Ren and Kai.

Only five of them were there as planned. King Benkin, his heir, Kaisun, Reneira, and Sigaros. Even Agara was told to stand back in the shadows.

They stood in the ruins of an ancient temple. The old wars had left scars in this area.

The sky was cloudy, but not like always. It was different. These clouds were not made by nature but by manipulation.

A red portal formed and red light streaks flashed out of it. Sorcerers stepped out of it. Reneira grabbed Kai’s hand, "They can make portals."

"Yes, that is the gem they have. It contains Nimoieth’s power. She could form red portals." Kai answered calmly.

Ren swallowed. The last time that she saw her uncle, Lucieth, he told her to make her own portals to avoid Shadow pathways and the lurking dangers around her.

Sorcerer stood in front of them, Phoria bared her teeth at Siagros, "You son of a bitch!"

Sigaros just stared at her sharply, not answering it right now.

"Where are the vampire lords?"

King Benkin asked but soon fast movements appeared in the ruined venue.

All the seven lords stood far from the sorcerers, covered with black cloaks and masked faces.

"You are here, now we can discuss." The King stated. He was a bit startled to see these vampires being far faster than others.

"What is this meeting for?" Victor asked, drawing his mask off. They knew him anyway.

King Benkin smirked, "So you are truly alive!"

Victor proudly raised his chin, "Oh, I am, Your Highness. And I’m an immortal now."

But the King wasn’t so sure that this man was immortal. Vampires would die with shifters’ blood.

"We are here to ask for a cease-fire!" Kai brought it up.

But the response to his clarification was a sharp laughter. Phoria took one step closer, her eyes fixed on Reneira.

"It is the first time I see your wife, and I cannot deny she has the beauty of the Fae, their courage, their power. Tell me, how can I not crave her?"

Kai’s eyes dimmed, his aura was already polluted and even the slightest amount of anger could make him kill. And this witch was here to provoke him, itching to die.

"You just said it, she is My wife, and do you really think I let you touch even a strand of her hair?"

He let Shadow out, making sharp thorny branches that could tear Phoria apart. However, she didn’t hesitate and dodged, using her staff, she shot a spark of red light and broke those thorny threads.

Vampires exchanged glances, "We are here to kill you." One of them said and attacked King Benkin.

Sunkiath and Ogain flew, attacking but the other two sorcerers conjured a formation that could keep them all in a red shield. Fire and claws couldn’t break it down. The Griffin and the Dragon couldn’t help.

The King pushed Gloria next to Ren, "Stay close to each other." They needed time.

Kai let the shadow dragon out to cover the girls and charged toward Phoria.

"I need to kill you today." He uttered and unsheathed his sword. This woman was powerful, having a part of Nimoieth’s magic, locked in that gem on her staff.

His sword hit her staff, and an explosion of energy pushed him back. He retreated. Shadow Dragon was defending the girls from vampires, he couldn’t focus on everything at the same time.

Two Vampires were mercilessly attacking the King of Alvonia. The man was a monster, fast, and strong. The golden dragon aura was shimmering around him, pushing them away with its heat.

One of the vampires was more eager than the other, to kill the king, and he suddenly narrowed his eyes, and shouted, "You have my blood!"

Ren and Gloria heard it clearly, and their hearts sank.

"Yes, I do! Before going after that Fae, you had my mother in your bed!"

The King was shocked. He remembered that woman. She was a half-blood maiden in a small village who disappeared suddenly after that night. But he didn’t remember if he had bedded her!

The King didn’t want to kill this one! But to protect Reneira he had to.

Ren was overwhelmed to hear that this vampire lord was her brother.

As the King’s sword suddenly grew bigger and sharper with the dragon’s magic, Reneira used all three shades of her magic, shaping thorny branches and confining the young vampire lord, dragging him out of the sword’s attack, and hitting him on a ruined pillar. The sword hit the other vampire and burned him alive.

Acelieth drew his sword and faced Kai, not letting him kill Phoria.

Phoria realized that the King was distracted, she grinned and conjured a vial of poison, hitting the King’s back.

The King fell on his knees, coughing blood. "Core destroyer magic!" He mumbled.

Beyond the shield, Sunkiath raged, and Gloria felt his agony, screamed, and rushed to the King, pulling him away as a vampire lord seized to kill him.

"Summon the formation," Phoria shouted at the two wizards.

Sigaros, who was fighting a vampire, peeked at the formation and was shocked.

"Be careful, that’s a demon killer formation."

But it was too late, the formation was completed, confining Kai. He couldn’t move, Shadow was getting weaker, and vampires could hit him.

Reneira let go of that young vampire Lord and ran to the glowing formation, hitting it with balls of magic, tears falling from her eyes, she wouldn’t let him die. He couldn’t leave her again.

And the lightning flashed above in the sky, to hit Kai, Phoria laughed like a mad woman, her eyes wide with enthusiasm, "Your end is coming, The shadow lord!"

As she said that, a sharp flash of blue light passed by her neck and blood gushed out. The formation broke and changed to a blue formation, chains slithering out like snakes and wrapping around the two wizard and vampire lords.

Three figures walked among snow and the mist.

Ren grabbed her husband, his demon core was cracked, making him cough blood.

"I’m fine, wife."

She hugged him tightly, letting her healing power out to heal him. "No, you are not!"

"You dare kill my granddaughter!" A deep strong voice echoed.

Ren’s spine shivered. That was the Fae King. His aura was so palpable, as strong as the demon god.

"Who are you?" Victor asked, chains squeezing around him, making him scream.

"He is my father!" Acelieth said, glaring at Lucieth, he added, "And my selfish asshole brother."

Lucieth flashed him a smirk, "I always knew you were a useless demon. Look, you proved it."

The Fae King ignored his son and stopped close to Phoria’s dead body, "Hmm, this silly witch sold her soul to Nimoieth!" He could see the red killer aura around her, it was still there, he formed a blue orb of magic and hit the body, and it began to burn. The aura faded in that blue fire.

"I was one the guardians of the blue flame, I cannot tolerate filths like you!" His eyes drifted to the two wizards, "You two die today."

"Please, show us clemency. We wanted peace." Wizard Renar begged while the older one, Wizard Dron, was out of breath, bewildered.

The Fae King was so tall and beautiful. Even his beauty was scary. The wind pulled at his white hair, making him look like a ghost in the snow. His white robe brushed on the ground silently.

They approached silently. No one noticed them coming. His blue eyes carried a deadly energy that the wizard couldn’t endure. If power could appear in a physical form, he’d be its form.

Sigaros grabbed his wounded arm and got closer, "Too late, Renar! I warned you about it."

The Fae King didn’t hesitate and brought his hand up, he closed his fists, and the two wizards burned just like Phoria’s corpse.

Lucieth tilted his head, "Ah, so you have a son, a vampire son!" He glared at King Benkin.

"I didn’t know!" he was squeezing his chest. That potion hurt his heart. Even Sunkiath’s healing magic couldn’t fix him. If it wasn’t for Gloria’s holy aura that she had gotten from Spike, he would be dead by now. She was reviving his life core, just like how she did with plants.

"Why are you waiting, kill us!"

Acelieth shouted. His father’s chain of punishment was one of the most painful immortal weapons. The pain was excruciating.

"Hmm, Alright!"

Lucieth unsheathed a crystal sword and Ren jolted at the sight of it. The Fae Crown Prince slowly pierced it through Acelieth’s heart.

"You are a cruel bastard!" Acelieth growled and choked on his blood, then his teary eyes rolled on his father, "You are heartless." With that final word, he closed his eyes, and his pale skin transformed to ash.

Lucieth repeated the same act with all the lords until he reached the young vampire, and asked, "What is your name?" He took the mask off the young vampire’s face.

The young man had brown eyes, and brown hair, very similar to the King of the Seven Kingdoms.

The vampire lord raised his chin proudly, "I’m Hector, son of a half-Fae, half-mermaid woman, Princess of the ocean, Siena Yolerieth."

Silence fell around all of them, Lucieth doubted to kill this one. He had read memories of the other before killing them, but this one was amusing! He moved his hand close...

"No!" Ren shouted, helping her husband who was now healed enough to stand on his feet.

Lucieth sighed, "I help you only once, remember?"

Ren nodded, "He is my prisoner. Just let the chains be around him. I need him for interrogation."

Hector didn’t even look at her, "I’m not your brother!" He muttered.

"No, but you are my father’s son!" She answered and strode to the Fae King who was smiling at her, she bowed, "I can’t believe that I see Your Highness here."

"Come and visit me. It isn’t proper to talk here."

He grabbed her shoulders, and steadied her, "I’m leaving now."

The Fae King stared at her for a while and then walked away, ignoring Kai and King Benkin.

"The young vampire is yours, Daughter." He said and vanished with Lucieth.

Agara hurried to King Benkin, doing his best to heal him before the poison could melt his heart.

"You cannot die like this. The Fae must avenge you for what you did to my sister." He shouted at him.
