On the other side, the leader felt a silent presence behind him and he turned to see a tall man standing in front of him with a casual and cheery smile.

"Hello, oh lost one," he said in a soothing voice.

Mingshen had an urge to roll his eyes. He looked up and down but didn’t find anything particularly striking about the man.

"Tell me what troubles you?"

"This gathering, for starters."

The leader paused for a moment and his confusion was apparent.

"Sorry?"

He smiled. "I would have appreciated more options in the dinner menu."

"Oh," the leader said, "It’s...quite a strange grievance."

"As much as the gathering is."

Mingshen could feel his quiet gaze studying him intently. "I feel bitterness from your voice, young lad."

He sighed. "Because I don’t see any solution to my problems. First this dinner and then my wife."

"You have a wife?" He asked, puzzled.

"A very beautiful and sexy wife~"

"I see...It seems from your expression that you really cherish her though."

Mingshen arched his brow while also tilting his head at the same time.

Cherish?

He couldn’t be sure if the leader was just throwing buttery words or if he actually meant it.

"So I wonder what the problem is and why would you feel the need to come here?"

At that time, the leader’s assistant, the young man, who brought the gemstone pendant at the podium before, approached him. He simply stood at a small distance behind him in silence.

Mingshen threw a glance at him and his brows furrowed for a moment. He felt as if he noticed something but couldn’t put his finger on it.

"Well, just because we are married doesn’t mean that there is love. Unfortunately, my spicy wife only loves my name, not my body," he pouted.

"Ah. So she refuses to consummate your marriage and that’s why you need guidance," he stated.

Mingshen released a troubled sigh. "I want to sleep with her and have lots of cute children with her~"

He was having this innate satisfaction of uttering pure garbage in Jia’s absence. But a moment later, he did feel a sharp glare pointed at his back as if Jia telepathically understood his nonsense.

The leader smiled. "It is indeed a troubling matter. As your wife, it is her natural duty to tend to your needs and carry out her child-bearing responsibilities."

Mingshen nodded. "Only if she understands that as well as you do."

"Do not worry. We are all here just for that. Your wife only needs guidance in the right direction and nature will take its due course soon."

"What do you suggest I do?"

The leader said, "I have a special vial for you. Just feed her a little bit of it to her everyday and she will slowly understand the errors of her judgement."

The young teen who was just returning from his washroom break, heard a soft mellow voice. He turned and his eyes popped out of his sockets seeing a beautiful woman before her. He couldn’t see her face but her figure was enough to fill the gaps for him.

The teen whistled with appreciation. "Not bad..." he whispered.

The woman coyly approached him, shyly tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I saw you on the stage before. How are you feeling now? You were really stressed out before."

He drew in a deep breath at the prospect of an attractive girl taking an interest in him. "I-I am fine. Totally. Who wouldn’t be after meeting you?"

She blushed. "I am not that beautiful..."

His eyes widened. "No way! You definitely are. My sixth sense cannot be wrong."

"Haha, you are a charmer."

The teen choked. He couldn’t believe his luck at all. He adjusted his tie, feeling nervous. "H-Have you come here alone?"

"Yes, unfortunately. I had many girl friends before but we eventually parted ways. Girls are terrible friends," she frowned. "Boys on the other hand..." she stepped closer, making his breath hitch.

"It feels to me that boys are more loyal and sensible. Girls can be so bitchy."

He nodded absent-mindedly, too lost in her allure.

"So I was wondering..." she looked away, hesitating, "if we can be friends? Earlier, I saw you playing Survival Grounds. I play it too."

His eyes widened. "Seriously? That’s awesome! It’s a cool game, right!?"

"Definitely. But I usually play solo. My girl friends left and now it’s not so enjoyable anymore-"

Inside her dark room, Meng Rin stood still. She was almost collapsing under the sleeping stranger’s weight upon her shoulder but more so from the reality before her.

"Pl-please wake up...This is not the time to sleep!"

The man continued snoring.

She looked at Huo Tengqi’s figure lying on the floor unconscious. Panic set in her heart so badly that she wished she could puke.

I-I need to get him to the hospital...!

No, wait should I be calling the cops first and g-get this man arrested?

She shook him harder and he finally seemed to stir a bit. But he simply yawned and went back to sleep, which left her incredulous.

"I don’t take insults towards beds very nicely."

Her eyes widened. It was a strain for her ears to clearly make out his words.

"And I don’t like people talking with loud voices. It hurts my ears."
