The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love -
Chapter 134: Tech savvy enemies
Chapter 134: Tech savvy enemies
Jia stood at the entrance of Mingshen’s luxurious lab that shone brilliantly more like a five-star hotel to her. As Mingshen expected, the memories of her time in the lab came back haunting her again. But the memories were not in the least bit happy.
A particularly bitter memory among that crashed her the worst which was none other than her first kiss being snatched by this devil doctor.
She thought back to those abysmal days when was trapped here and made several attempts to escape. One such attempt brought her fists strike with Mingshen’s. They fought to gain control and power.
If Jia brought up the glass shard she had craftily sneaked in with her to overpower him, then he showed his own deviousness into play when he kissed her to distract her.
It was only a means to throw her off her pace, nevertheless her first kiss was taken away.
No! I refuse to consider that as my first kiss! My lips are still virgin!
Huojin threw her a dry look with her antics. "What is going on in your mind?"
"That I absolutely don’t accept the kiss he had forced on me!" Her expression twisted.
"..."
Huojin stumbled back, clutching his chest. His gaze shone with deep hurt. "Jia you...I thought we were buddies. But you betrayed me."
"Huh?"
"You never told me this explosive news! Yang Mingshen had kissed you? When? Where? How? How is he still alive? You hid all this gossip from me!"
"Are you out of your mind!" Jia was speechless. "In what eyes of yours do I look dancing in joy to you? I want to forget that memory! He played a dirty trick and I refuse to acknowledge it."
"Naahhh. Your heart must have skipped a beat at least once~" he teased. "I am sure of it."
"Should I make your heart skip a beat in fear now?" She sneered threateningly.
Huojin promptly made some distance between them. "I don’t trust you with my life at this moment."
The guards of the lab who were listening in found it extremely challenging to hide their shock. Firstly, the prisoner was back and secondly...
Boss Yang had kissed a woman!? Damn it, this is explosive!
So our Boss does have desires after all?
The two guards eyed each other, desperate to gossip about this. But they were forced to maintain their stern, cold expressions.
Jia said, "Huojin, why don’t you go inside, get all the information Mingshen has to give and then relay it back to me?"
An evil laughter echoed. "This is my lab, so my rules. In fact, Spicy will step in first~"
Mingshen faced them with his hands in his pockets, enjoying this leisurely moment. "Spicy, Spicy, how do you feel now that you are back home?"
"Since you equate prison with home, how about I dump you at your real home too?" Jia chuckled. "It is a small cell with iron bars. You will love it there."
"That’s a very stuffy place. It doesn’t deserve Yang Mingshen’s grace and presence."
Huojin pushed Jia forward. "Yes, yes. Let’s go."
"Hey, I am going! Don’t push me. You are enjoying this, aren’t you?"
"Can you blame me?" He grinned.
Jia took small and careful steps with the support of her crutch. Huojin patiently walked behind.
"You can walk ahead if I am slow."
"I am a gentleman who lets ladies walk ahead," he winked.
"You will soon be dead, Mo Huojin. Start counting the limited time you have," she sneered.
Mingshen led them the way to one of his labs. The smell of chemicals invaded their nostrils, but it wasn’t really so bothersome. Huojin was more impressed by the state of the art facility of the lab. It felt like he was a part of one of those science fiction movies.
Mingshen walked across the plethora of shelves neatly lined up and stacked with test tubes and glass jars. All the liquids inside were so colorful that Jia thought they looked pretty.
"Don’t go by the color. The most beautiful shades are the most toxic~"
"I am well aware. More so in your company."
"You make me blush with your compliments, Spicy~"
He took out one test tube and then a file. "These are the lab results of the trace remnant of the chip. There are quite interesting components."
"Like?" Huojin peeked inside the test tube to see a greyish color solution.
"The dissolution itself. The chip was embedded inside the tattoo. Then a voice came from it and it soon dissolved into the bloodstream. The chip was possibly constructed out of nanomaterials. One of the chemical compositions matched was that of a carbon nanotube."
Jia blinked. "Nanomaterials? It’s...quite rare."
"Chips are usually made out of silicon so yes, it is rare."
"Manufacturing and scalability is the problem," Huojin said. "Nanotechnology is great for precise control at the molecular level. But it’s not easy to construct the materials for it. It’s still under research and development in many facilities so the use is not widespread."
Mingshen smiled. "Not widespread, yet being planted and used with finesse by these people. Nanomaterials were one part of it. Since it could communicate with me, it means that it was equipped with some advanced sensors for remote control and communication."
"Agreed."
"I also found traces of synthetic polymer. The carbon nanotube was probably coated with it. It is known for its durability and flexibility. I believe its purpose must be to integrate itself within the neck and adapt to the neck movements we make."
Jia said, "This sounds like science fiction."
"That is nothing when you think that the chip was dissolved. Almost as if it melted."
Huojin nodded. "I haven’t heard of it either. Planting chips in bodies for spying is common but them dissolving? Nope."
Mingshen arched his brow with interest. "That has been unheard of but apparently, somebody seems to have found a way. There are some strange enzymes which were detected during the testing. I can only link it to the usage for the chip’s dissolution."
They threw a puzzled look at him and Mingshen, for a moment, imagined that he was giving a science class.
"In simple terms, enzymes are almost always proteins. They act as catalysts to accelerate chemical reactions. In our case, something triggered the chip’s dissolution or probably reacted to this enzyme that helped it with the process through some remote control mechanism."
Jia slightly widened her eyes. "All of this isn’t mainstream at all. These all look like high level research and development subjects."
Mingshen smiled. "Which is why it seems that my soon to become lab research subjects aren’t just creative artists with the tattoo but tech savvy with their operations as well~"
