After their victory, Cassiel’s team spent a while in the presence of House Eros leadership, mostly listening and answering polite questions. A quick shower in the locker room - which was not separated by gender at all - followed, with Rain trying very hard to stare at the wall and think about the wall as Cassie stood very, very naked within arm’s reach. Ozzy was no slouch in the looks department either, and he had some very sexy scars.

When they were cleaned and dressed and finally allowed to leave, each of them was given a bottle of heavenberry spirits and a tabletstone recording of the fight.

Cassie wasted no time drinking her bottle, reliving the battle in vivid detail with Ozzy.

"Did you see that bit where Rain was surfing on his sword?" Cassie asked Ozzy. "Rode it like a champion! I’ve never seen anything like it!"

"Yeah, I saw," Ozzy smiled, "You should use that more often," he winked at Rain.

"Is that called surfing?" Rain asked. "I don’t know what that is..."

"It’s like... You’ve never been air surfing before?" Cassie looked at Rain.

"Never have," Rain said.

As Cassie tried to explain, Rain only got out of it that apparently one stood on a big triangle and used wings only to change directions. The rest was about thermals and air currents and some sort of competition; by that point, Rain was just acknowledging her politely.

"Oh! I’ll take you both some time!" Cassie exclaimed as they approached their rooms.

"I’d love to go," Ozzy said, elbowing Rain as he was looking at Cassie’s already half-emptied bottle.

"Me too," Rain said quickly.

"You guys..." Cassie got weepy. "You guys are the best!" She hopped up, seizing them both by the necks and hugging them close.

"Thanks, Cassiel," Ozzy said. "I should get to sleep. Don’t stay up too late partying."

As soon as Ozzy’s door closed, Cassiel shifted to face Rain.

"You seem wide awake," she said, hovering close enough that he could feel a little of her body heat.

"Well, we did just have a big battle..." he scratched the back of his head, trying not to look down at his squad leader’s ample cleavage.

"Come drink with me," Cassie said, pulling on his hand as she opened the door to her room.

"I-I don’t know... it’s pretty late and I’m-"

"Angel’s orders!" she pulled him inside before he could finish his excuses, an act that sent her stumbling as Rain’s weight was too much for her to effectively control. She was barely able to turn in time to land on her butt. "Ow!"

Rain winced and stepped inside, "Here," he said, setting his bottle on her table before bending and picking her up by the knees and back. He carried her to her bed and lay her down. She was surprisingly light, but then again angels were masters of aerial combat above anything else. Most of their strength and sturdiness came from magic more than mass.

Against his more reasoning side, he sat next to her as she rotated to sit up, leaning heavily against him.

"Rain... do you hate me?" she suddenly asked.

Rain was taken aback. "What? No, I don’t hate you. Why would you think that?"

"It’s just... you never accept when I invite you to drink or study or..." she trailed off.

It wasn’t hard for Rain to guess she was going to mention all the flirting she did with him. He paused for a long time as he composed his answer. "I... didn’t mean to have you thinking I hated you. It just didn’t feel appropriate..."

"Why not?" she looked up at him with big watery eyes.

Her eyes were so adorable, that Rain spent an awkward moment trying to compose himself as he looked away and scratched the back of his head. "Well... you see... I’m just... so far behind... I didn’t want to hold you back with studying..."

Something cool pressed against his side with a slight slosh. "Drink," Cassie ordered.

"I’m not sure that’s-"

"It’s not fair that I’m the only one tha’s drinking... I want to know how you really feel," her puppy dog eyes were filled with determination. But then... "Please drink for me," her lips seemed to move slower than the words entering his mind.

Rain found himself tipping back the bottle a moment later, the potent yet smooth spirits filling him with an insistent, warm glow.

"Tell me what you think of me," Cassie said in the same, strange voice, once the bottle was empty.

"I like you... but I’m... afraid of messing up..." The words crawled out of Rain like the last drops from the bottle, accumulating with each drip.

Cassie slipped out from under his arm, walking four steps to her table and retrieving his bottle of spirits. Kicking off her sandals, she straddled Rain’s hips as she spun the bottle open, gently tipping the first drops into his mouth. She then took a pull of the glowing blue spirits. "Is there someone else?" she asked, her breasts pressing up against his chest, nipples already stiff and eager.

"I had... lovers... back on Ayther but I... One died, and I broke things off with the other before coming here..."
