Chapter 432: Chapter 246: The Final Blitzkrieg_2
Wolf Face!
Diller’s heart immediately sounded an alarm, and he had not anticipated encountering this guy here, let alone that it would take this guy merely...
One minute?!
Weren’t all those Hunters T2-level operatives? Combined with that simplified yet nearly perfect individual combat gear, even a T1 could be challenged by three of them together.
Damn it!
Diller hadn’t even had time to set up any defenses in the lab before he was directly facing Wolf Face, a Combat Sequence well beyond T1!
Despite being utterly astonished in his mind, Diller did not hesitate for even a moment. He raised his hand and fired three artillery shells in quick succession, then rolled violently toward the right, behind an experimental table, dodging three bullets heading straight for him.
He looked toward Wolf Face; the man held a dagger in reverse grip with his left hand to aid his right hand’s pistol shooting. But faced with the three high-speed shells, Wolf Face didn’t roll away. He twisted his body and narrowly slipped past the projectiles with just inches to spare, looking incredibly perilous.
Wolf Face didn’t show any signs of intimidation—he kept pulling the trigger, seemingly intent on emptying the bullets from his pistol’s magazine.
This barrage of bullets forced Diller to flee in all directions, cowering behind an experimental table, daring not to show his face.
"Dang, dang, dang—" Listening to the succession of gunfire, Diller then observed the bulges formed by bullets hitting the inner side of the experimental table in front of him.
Thankfully, Wolf Face’s bullets weren’t specialized armor-piercing rounds, so for the moment, he was safe.
"Dr. Diller! Who is this person? Why is he attacking us?" At this moment, Dr. Seboll regained his senses amidst the gunfire and artillery sounds.
Accustomed to a comfortable life focused on Research, he had never seen such scenes. Although he was a T2 Research Sequence, his research had nothing to do with weaponry or equipment.
"I would advise you not to move; he’s not targeting you, but bullets don’t have eyes," Diller replied coldly amidst the relentless gunfire. He didn’t suggest that Dr. Seboll leave outright, even though he knew Wolf Face definitely wouldn’t attack Seboll.
Diller was well aware that he needed Seboll as a shield. If Seboll left, then Wolf Face would have no qualms whatsoever.
"Four, three, two..." Diller silently counted the remaining bullets in Wolf Face’s pistol in his head. He had similarly studied weaponology during his doctorate—he knew the pistol hadn’t been visibly modified, so its magazine capacity must be the standard seventeen rounds.
After Wolf Face fired his last shot, whether it was reloading or charging directly at him, Diller was confident he could handle it.
He looked at the reflection on the wall. His gaze met with the enemy’s in the reflection.
Wolf Face was observing his position too!
Suddenly, Wolf Face flung something and the final shot was finally fired.
"Bang!"
"Argh!" Diller roared in pain, clutching his flesh and blood left arm which had been pierced through by the large-caliber bullet, leaving a gaping wound.
Why of all things was it his unmodified left arm?
How come the bullet could curve?
Diller’s mind was filled with amazement; the intense pain didn’t strip away his mental faculties but rather sharpened them.
Could the Trigger Gun Technique, only known in films, actually exist?
The idea of dramatically shaking the wrist to curve the bullet...
No!
Impossible!
For a bullet of this caliber to change direction by wrist movement...
Wolf Face’s wrist would have had to withstand forces exceeding three tons!
That was unachievable, even prosthetics couldn’t withstand such force.
But he had no more time for contemplation. He quickly stood up, raising his right hand and firing three more shells toward the approaching Wolf Face.
This time, they weren’t impact-detonating shells, but delayed fuse ones.
After half a second, the three shells exploded, engulfing Wolf Face’s body in fierce flames and instantly creating thick black smoke.
At the same time, Diller pushed Dr. Seboll toward the direction of the oncoming attack as he turned to dash deeper into the lab.
But suddenly, Diller felt his body launched into the air, his eyes wide as he sensed his body lose control.
A silk thread...
He had tripped over a silk thread in such a crucial moment!
The next second, a blade was pressed against his neck.
The outcome was decided, even more conclusively than last time, as Diller had not managed to merge with his equipment in time.
Lang Tai silently retracted the silk thread, and the same pistol followed the thread back to his hand.
Just as Diller had calculated, even he couldn’t make bullets curve by flicking his wrist; that was simply beyond human capacity.
He had simply run a silk thread through the pistol’s trigger and flung the gun out, pulling on the thread to fire.
Turning a pistol was much simpler than curving a bullet.
He called this the Trigger Gun Technique.
Besides cold weapons, his expertise in firearms was terrifyingly high as well.
Only someone of this caliber truly deserved the title T0.
Lang Tai picked up the bloody Diller and turned to leave the lab.
The Fox had held off the Hunters for three minutes already, he needed to get Diller and Fox out quickly.
It wouldn’t be difficult.
—
Meanwhile, the research area where Jiang Shu was located suddenly erupted in flames, and Thunder resounded.
Standing at the center of the research area was a man wearing a smiling face mask, his hands tucked into his belt loops. He wore a common, immaculately sharp black suit that rendered him especially cold and formidable.
