Chapter 391: Chapter 230: Derivative Entry: Rebirth Technique!

Those deep, pitch-black eyes riveted on Koichi Kojima.

"Holy shit!" Koichi was immediately startled and trembled backward, almost flying up.

It was his first time ever swearing on camera, and the camera he was carrying on his shoulder nearly fell down, luckily Ooishi at his side quickly steadied it.

And on the Simulated Light Screen that he didn’t see, the whole screen was swarmed with live comments.

"Is he really alive?"

"???"

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!"

"Fake, right... Did they really resurrect a human?"

"Is there a robot in that bag?"

"Do you know the rules of a hospital morgue? Can you even bring a robot in?"

"This magician didn’t just walk into the morgue? Is this abiding by the regulations?"

"The magician, a normal person? Who knows how he sneaked in."

Suddenly, arguments erupted in the live comments, while a new change occurred in the morgue’s scene.

"Cough, cough," several abrupt coughs echoed in the deathly silent morgue.

Pale light fell, casting two ghostly pale faces.

"Did you hear that?" Koichi, still shaken, looked at Ooishi beside him and asked incredulously.

Even the typically composed Ooishi’s face was filled with panic; he nodded and pointed toward the direction of the body bag, indicating that the coughing was coming from inside it.

"Coughs in the Morgue."

"This is so damn creepy, I’m a bit scared to watch."

"There’s no background music, so why do I hear a horror film soundtrack in my mind?"

"This acting, this script, why don’t you go make a fortune shooting movies instead of making this crappy show?"

Koichi slowly approached; he was nervous about directly facing whatever was in the body bag, so he first aimed the camera at the bag, then watched his live-streamed footage and read the comments to find out what it really was.

It was a dead man’s face, yes, both Koichi and Ooishi could confirm that.

But now, that dead man’s face had the facial expressions of a living person, which made the whole situation extremely bizarre and terrifying.

A ghostly voice emerged from the body bag: "Let me out, I’m suffocating."

Hearing the voice, Koichi and Ooishi were even more shocked, but instead of moving forward, both of them stepped back simultaneously.

"Hurry up, this bag is so stuffy." The person inside the body bag yelled, then specifically called out, "Hey, you, the tall one."

Ooishi hesitated slightly, the nearly direct address left him unable to retreat further. He thought for a moment, glanced at Koichi, it seemed now the tone of the voice from the body bag did not sound like some spectral entity, so he summoned his courage, stepped forward, and opened the body bag.

"Zzzzt—" The metal zipper slid across the plastic, opening the body bag, and the body inside started gasping for air violently. He sat up, looked at Koichi and Ooishi, and the plucked, oily chicken in Ooishi’s hands and asked in confusion, "I remember I was supposed to be dead. Why am I here? Where is this?"

"..."

Seeing the man who was just a corpse now moving and talking, Koichi was also shocked and kept retreating, his camera shaking with his body. He recognized the man’s face, so he hesitantly asked, "Are you Lu Yi?"

"Yes." Lu Yi nodded his head, swung his legs off the table, and tried to move his stiff body. Immediately, cracking sounds came from within, "I was a photographer before I died. Do I have to keep working even in hell? That really sucks."

"This isn’t hell, this is... still the living world," Koichi replied, "You’ve been resurrected."

"Resurrected? You’ve got to be kidding. I clearly remember, I was in the late stages of lung cancer, surviving five years was already quite remarkable." Lu Yi laughed nonchalantly, "Don’t try to fool me. It’s pointless. Where am I supposed to go next? Is there some place I need to report to?"

For a moment, the live comments flew by.

"The corpse is talking!"

"Is that really a corpse?"

"Looks like it."

"I laughed, he doesn’t even believe he was resurrected."

"Neither would I."

Koichi was at a loss for words, even with his academic training he couldn’t think of anything clever to say—school certainly never taught him what to say to comfort a resurrected corpse.

At that moment, the lights in the hallway outside the door suddenly turned on, followed by hurried footsteps. A few seconds later, before Koichi, Ooishi, and Lu Yi could react, Jiang Shu appeared at the door, muttering under his breath, "My chicken, right, the resurrected chicken can’t stay here."

Then, everyone’s gaze met.

First, Jiang Shu’s eyes fell on Lu Yi’s face, visibly delighted for a moment, "Did it work? He really was resurrected."

Then he saw Koichi Kojima and Ooishi, who seemed to have suddenly appeared in the morgue, so he frowned and spoke in an unfriendly tone, "And who are you?"

"We..." Koichi gave a dry laugh, feeling a bit complicated as the typically sharp-witted him still couldn’t think of anything to say.

"Giggle—" At that moment, the chicken that Ooishi was holding also suddenly made a noise, heaven knows when he had caught it.

"So you stole not only my chicken but also my person?" Jiang Shu sneered, and at the same time, he raised his left and right hands. Simultaneously, his left hand was lit with flames, while his right hand flickered with thunder, red flames and blue lightning reflecting on his face, making him look extremely fierce.
