Chapter 147: Chapter 132 Perfect Stealth
Jiang Shu followed the group through a side door and, after turning a corner, found himself in a somewhat dim corridor.
The trailer was no longer in his line of sight; only the sound of small wheels rolling on the ground echoed in the depths of the corridor.
There was a slightly ajar door in the corridor, through which colorful lights and the faint but rhythmic sound of bar music spilled out.
Clearly, beyond this door was the bar’s main hall, and this corridor...
Following Jiang Shu’s gaze, the corridor was littered with faceless individuals—beautiful women passed out drunk, delirious guys drifting in bliss, and a man and woman clutching each other against the wall, furiously making out.
Jiang Shu walked silently past them, unable to resist looking back at the couple as he passed.
Mainly because they were quite loud, like a water pump.
He continued down the corridor and through another small door into an alley. Following Ding’s instructions, he wandered around and soon spotted the trailer and the group.
They were squatting in front of an iron door, smoking, with the trailer’s boxes showing signs of having been opened, and judging by the cigarette packs on the ground...
These were no cheap smokes.
He made his judgment—so, were these movers sneakily using the boss’s resources?
Interesting.
Jiang Shu waited around the corner for a while, watching the disciples laugh and smoke. They disposed of their cigarette packs, sprayed themselves with strong perfume, then accessed the door through iris recognition, pushing the cart inside.
The iron door slowly closed, and just before it shut, Jiang Shu expertly threw a black card to stop the door, then quickly stepped forward, Ding following behind.
By now, Ding had donned a backpack that was much larger than itself, containing a wireless power bank, merely needing to be carried for it to charge.
However, Jiang Shu was also pondering an issue—when Ding used the derivative entry "Flame Spirit," the output and input were absolutely disproportionate.
Converting a little bit of electric energy into flames of several thousand degrees Celsius was scientifically implausible, not to mention it had various other tricky operations.
Still, with his feet firmly on the ground, Jiang Shu was certain this was a real world, even if some laws did not apply. Putting aside messy things like radiation and dark matter, the law of conservation of energy must be observed.
Then...
That meant, there surely must be another form of energy involved in the conversion from electrical energy to "Flame Spirit."
Jiang Shu silently noted this point.
Ding: Currently taking over the surveillance of this area...
Ding: Takeover successful!
At this moment, Ding successfully hacked into the area’s surveillance, sending the filtered information to Jiang Shu’s wristwatch.
The information security protection level of the mechanical disciples was slightly higher than the normal city standard, but it didn’t last long in front of Ding’s built-in hacking module.
If the mechanical disciples were only using a local area network, Ding might have struggled for a bit, but frequently, operators connected both to the Lonely City network and the base internal network for convenience, making it easier to infiltrate.
"Can you directly cause these disciple systems to crash?" asked Jiang Shu, "without shedding blood?"
Ding: Considering such scenarios in mechanical prosthetics, if there is no quality firewall, I can control their prosthetic eyes, but prosthetic eyes are only for obtaining information, transmitting information, and enhancing information processing efficiency—they cannot directly manipulate mechanical implant users.
Ding: "Mechanical prosthetics technology, also known as prosthetics technology, is still human-centric. To prevent the degeneration of the human brain, there has been no development of brain-related modification technology. Mechanical transformed people still use the human brain as the actual control center, so there won’t be situations where the machinery overrides control."
Ding: "It might be possible with cockpit-type mechas, but their firewall levels are too high; the existing infiltration modules alone are not enough to accomplish an infiltration."
"Alright then," Jiang Shu felt somewhat disappointed, but then he thought, "Just controlling the prosthetic eye would work too, right? Like Sister Ruo making the prosthetic eye self-combust, that should also cause a lot of damage, right?"
Ding: "Program initiated, prosthetic eye overload program progress 2%..."
"That quick?" Jiang Shu didn’t say more and immediately perked up, pushing open the iron door.
Behind the door was an empty factory hall, filled with many cargo containers. Through the arrangement of the containers and the deployment of heavy firepower weapons like hidden machine guns, the inside of the factory faintly formed a strong-depth defensive position. Without using heavy weaponry, such a position would be hard to break through in a short time.
However, nearby was a bustling urban area, and the surroundings were full of old-style bungalows, easily damaged, neither the police department nor the Terrorism Control Bureau would dare to use heavy weapons here before the area was fully secured, not even small-caliber grenades.
There were also surveillance cameras inside the factory, so Jiang Shu was fully aware of the personnel layout inside. The moment he pushed open the iron door, four or five cards followed the shortest route directly to the mechanical disciples responsible for guard duty and simply killed them with one strike.
These mechanical disciples on the perimeter were not elite; without sufficient protective ability, they could easily be reaped by the Paper Card Technique.
Also reaped was the squad responsible for transportation.
At this point, only one survivor stood at the entrance of the underground passage, staring blankly at the headless corpses and a river of blood suddenly appearing before him.
He had no idea what had happened; in just the time it took to turn his head, his usual companions had turned into those motionless things on the ground.
But soon, he understood why, at the far end of his field of vision, a man dressed in a black suit wearing a silver half-face mask was walking slowly towards him.
The man was surrounded by spiraling black cards, a series of cards still rotating, showing both their backs and faces.
Mysterious, elegant, powerful.
The disciple searched his remaining vocabulary to describe the man before him, but he always felt that there should be no words in the world that could describe the sensation this man gave him.
"Open the door," the man said slowly, his voice very gentle yet carrying an undeniable oppressiveness.
The disciple didn’t dare to think too much and mechanically opened the entrance of the underground passage, then watched as a black card pierced into his neck.
With not much sensation of pain, he only saw his body moving away from him, and at the same time, both his body and the world spun around, redness surged, filling this spinning world.
Jiang Shu pulled open the door of the underground passage and looked at Little Ding, asking, "No one noticed us, right?"
Little Ding nodded profoundly, releasing blue flames while opening more than ten gates of Hell; a dozen monsters with lumpy heads and covered in tentacles peeked out and then swiftly emerged from the gates.
At the same time, Little Ding released a dozen black flames, then manipulated these flames to enter the underground passage.
A dozen monsters, with their lumpy heads and full of tentacles, used their only two claws to furiously smash the ground, screeching.
The ground responded, stones splattered, and immediately after, the monsters, twisting their snake-like bodies, burrowed into the underground passage entrance, following the black flames into the distance.
Jiang Shu looked at Little Ding, nodding appreciatively.
No one found out = Stealth.
Kill everyone = No one found out = Stealth.
Cause a big commotion = No one notices them = No one found out = Stealth.
Conclusion: Perfect stealth.
