Chapter 126: Chapter 123 Draw (over 4000 words)
"Playing well means cheating? This is all diligence and effort," Jiang Shu said solemnly.
"Can you really train to this level?" Clo couldn’t believe it as Jiang Shu’s action made him doubt reality for the first time.
A series of data flashed quickly through his mind, eventually calculating the kinetic energy of the card at the moment it touched the alarm...
"Do you have prosthetics?" he asked again.
The answer could only be that, but it seemed not.
"No."
"Then how?"
"Practice more."
"But why so accurate... and powerful?"
"Focus, reach the peak."
Jiang Shu raised his head, every movement full of the grandmaster’s style.
Although the two were talking, their hands weren’t slow. Clo had already used the tiger pliers wrapped in insulating material to dismantle the wire mesh and after leaving the activity area, casually twined the wire mesh together.
At a glance, it wasn’t noticeable, and it could delay their discovery.
For some reason, after crawling through the wire mesh, Jiang Shu suddenly felt much lighter, as if he had gained a bit of freedom, so he smiled.
Special Prison, apart from the Central Building, was sporadically surrounded by some bungalows. The area from the Central Building to the front of Special Prison was known as the buffer zone.
The inverted fortress design made it easy for prison guards patrolling near the entrance checkpoint and prison walls to spot prisoners moving in the buffer zone.
However, the guards couldn’t see inside the bungalows from outside, and these scattered bungalows blocked some sunlight, creating a crisscross of light and shadows. By following these dark shadows, the guards would find it hard to spot them.
Therefore, sticking to the shadows of the bungalows, they moved quickly and cautiously, safely reaching near the Central Building without incident.
Standing at the side of a bungalow, using it to block their view, they looked in that direction together.
The transport truck hadn’t arrived yet.
"Change clothes." Clo quickly changed into a white coat, standard issue for the infirmary inside Special Prison.
This would make it easier to blend into the Central Building. Though many prison guards knew Clo, it was still easier than wearing a prison uniform.
While changing, Jiang Shu continued, "I’ll come with you, it’s not safe here."
"Two people make too big a target, easy to spot," Clo shook his head.
"I could easily be discovered hiding here too," insisted Jiang Shu on going together, but that was only part of the reason. More importantly, he still didn’t trust Clo, wanting to know what he was up to at all times.
"Okay," Clo agreed, "then move fast."
They continued along the shadows, but within twenty meters of the Central Building, there were no more such blind spots, and the shadows suddenly disappeared. They switched from a jog to a natural walk, appearing just like two ordinary doctors under the sunlight.
"Forty meters east, there’s a group of prison guards, don’t look that way," Clo whispered incredibly softly as he caught sight of the new development.
Jiang Shu complied and quickened his pace with Clo. The twenty-meter distance quickly disappeared, and they entered the Central Building.
The interior decoration style of the building was identical to the underground prison, an all-silver, high-tech feeling. The central hall was two stories high, appearing extremely spacious; circular corridors above had tightly shut rooms.
Not long after entering the building, Jiang Shu heard the sound of a vehicle behind him. He cautiously peeked back; it was the transport vehicle.
"Bang—" The driver jumped down from the truck, shut the door, and walked towards the building.
The two hid in the bathroom, one on each side, waiting for the moment.
Soon, the burly driver walked in, seemingly on a phone call, talking as he approached the urinal.
"Yeah, I’m here, it’ll only take three or four people to unload, back hatch is open, take your people and move it," the driver said into the phone, unzipping his pants to relieve himself.
Behind him was a slightly ajar bathroom door, where two pairs of eyes appeared in the crack, intently staring at the driver.
The driver’s eyes narrowed slightly, his body shuffling quickly, and then he zipped up his pants. But suddenly, he felt his mouth covered, and barely getting out a muffled sound, his consciousness plunged into darkness.
Clo withdrew his hand, pressing on the driver’s wristwatch to switch the audio call from the prosthetic eye mode to the watch.
"Hello? What’s up?" a voice from another prison guard came through the watch.
Clo recalled the driver’s voice, pinched his throat, then mimicked it, "No worries, just got a sudden stomach upset, you guys go ahead and move it, just let me know when you’re done."
"Got it, take your time then," the guard on the other line didn’t notice anything unusual and hung up.
"I’ll change into his clothes, you go out and keep watch for me. After the guards finish moving things, find a chance to hide directly in the truck," Clo took out a small bottle from his pocket, poured a viscous substance onto the unconscious driver’s face, smoothing it out carefully and even carefully punched two holes around the nostrils.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Shu asked.
"Making a simple disguise mask. It has many flaws up close, but it shouldn’t be a problem under these circumstances," Clo replied, beginning to undress the driver and dress himself.
