The Crown's Seduction -
Chapter 97: Framing the Queen
Chapter 97: Framing the Queen
"This will work for sure..."
Rosela hummed to herself as she snooped around the Amaranth Palace. It had been a few days since the meeting of the clans had passed, and with the relative lull in the number of events that needed to happen, she supposed that now would be a good time to set her plan into action.
"L-Lady Rosela?"
"Ah, you’re here," she greeted the servant that she had personally called for within the Amaranth Palace. The girl was young and pliable, one that she actually had a working relationship with throughout her years of doing her duties. "I want you to do something for me."
"O-Of course," the servant eagerly nodded. "What is it that you require of me?"
Smiling, Rosela then pulled out a few key items from behind her back. At first glance, they were just ordinary items like feathers and a few random black rocks, but in fact, they were the evidence she fabricated for her plan to work. They looked exactly like what any servant would think dark magic was made of, and any scandalous rumors from an innocent servant that would see them were more than enough for her needs.
"I want you to take these and leave them all over the palace," Rosela instructed as she handed the items over to the servant. "Place them in Her Majesty’s room, if possible. If not, then at least place them near places that she frequents. Just ensure they’re sufficiently hidden yet visible after a bit of a search."
"M-Milady?"
"You are to make sure you are not detected while doing so, of course," Rosela continued, ignoring the poor servant’s questioning look. "And once I give the signal, you will back me up no matter what."
"Back you up on what, milady?"
Rosela maliciously smiled. "I plan on framing the Queen," she directly stated. "You agree that I’m the rightful Queen, correct?"
She hummed in satisfaction as she watched the servant immediately nod. Truly, cultivating a strong relationship with this girl was more than worth it. She had been with her even before her twin died, and she made sure to give the girl praises and bonuses whenever she did her bidding. As a result, she was sure of the servant’s loyalty, knowing full well that even the worst behaviors would be supported by her.
"H-How do you wish for me to do it?"
"Just tell her that she did it," Rosela vaguely explained. "You’ll know what I mean. Whatever bad things might happen, just know that it’s her fault. After all, she’s just a mere human who can easily be kicked out. Many officials will back me up too, as no one wanted a cursed Queen in our kingdom. She will only bring us misfortune, so we must take action before it happens."
"O-Of course, milady," the servant hesitantly nodded.
Rosela blinked. Was that fear she was hearing? "How long have you been under my care?"
The servant girl’s eyes widened as she replied, "I-I don’t know... My whole life?"
"Exactly," Rosela smiled. "I’ve been with you through thick and thin, correct?"
"Y-Yes..."
"Then why are you hesitating?" she coldly asked. "Do you doubt my abilities?"
The girl flinched at the accusation. "N-No!" she vehemently shook her head. "Why do you think such a thing?"
"Because you keep stuttering," Rosela directly pointed out. "I’ve never heard you do such a thing. You’re skilled with what you specialize in. I should know, seeing as I was the one that taught you everything you know."
It was a small price to pay in terms of time, but what was time for a long-lived being such as her? Having a servant in her pocket was more than worth a few years of playing teacher and mentor for an insignificant speck as this girl.
"Yes..." the servant weakly nodded. "I owe you everything..."
"Then why hesitate?" Rosela pointedly asked. "I’ll have your back no matter what. You’ve served me well this far, so I won’t let you fall because of this. Once I become Queen, you’ll be my vassal, Leah. I will give you anything you want as long as it is within my power."
Blinking, the servant visibly gulped before she stashed the items on her back. "Alright..." she nodded slightly. "I’ll do my best."
"Splendid. Make sure that you follow my instructions without any hiccups. Everything needs to be precise and flawless," Rosela said firmly."
The servant obediently nodded in agreement.
With a smile, Rosela then promptly shooed the servant away before taking her place near one of the palace’s entrances. It was going to take a bit of time for the evidence to be planted, but one of the other things those things were going to do was kill the next person that would come to inspect them.
She was sure that another servant would see one of them sooner or later, and even if the Cursed Princess herself was the one who’d die, then she’d at least have the poor servant she just tricked to take the fall for her.
Truly, this was a foolproof plan. She just had to make sure that things would fall into place, and she will finally be rid of the princess that had been a constant plague to her side.
She couldn’t wait to get rid of that cursed human. Every time she heard about the human and Nikolai getting along and publicly displaying affection for each other, she felt like dying. She couldn’t bear to see them together any longer.
"You’ll get what you deserve, Cursed Princess," she malevolently chuckled. "You don’t deserve to be by Nikolai’s side. You. How can you justify your position as his wife and Queen when you haven’t even spent your entire life with him like I have? I will make sure to wipe you out from the picture immediately! How dare you covet what is rightfully mine! You’re nothing but a mere cursed human!"
No... There was no excuse. Rosela was the rightful queen, and she’ll make sure that it happens no matter what she had to do.
