The Crown's Seduction
Chapter 448: Your Husband

Chapter 448: Your Husband

Dani gasped as Abel pulled her closer to him. They were doing a slow swaying dance, but her heart kept racing because of their current proximity.

"You keep sneaking glances at me," Abel whispered in her ear.

"And you’re gawking at me!" she countered.

Abel chuckled and admitted, "I did."

Dani gritted her teeth. How could she retort when he answered her like that? "You left a mark on my neck!"

Again, Abel chuckled, and then she felt his lips touching her neck. "I did it on purpose. It’s lovely isn’t it?" he teased.

Dani couldn’t be bothered to react as she tried her best to compose herself. "It’s embarrassing," she mumbled with a frown.

"We’ll be getting married tomorrow, Dani," Abel told her. "It’s understandable. You don’t need to be too embarrassed."

"It’s easy for you to say since you’re not the one getting this mark," she mumbled, but it was loud enough for Abel to hear.

"Here then," Abel challenged, and she gulped when he bent down a little until she had a perfect view of his neck. "You can give me the same mark. As many as you can too."

Dani looked around, her crimson red face contorting into a frown as she quickly pulled away from Abel, urging him to stand straight. "Stop teasing me already and get serious!" she scolded in a hushed yet firm and heavy tone. There was no way she wouldn’t have the last word with this man!

"Alright," Abel answered as he once again pulled her closer. This time, his eyes locked directly onto hers. "How is your practice going for the coupling dance?"

"It’s been going well," she answered with a pout. "I warned you before that I’m not a good dancer though, so don’t expect too much."

Despite being a bit nervous, she liked the feeling of being this close with Abel. He was so good at leading and guiding her in their smooth dance that it almost looked like she wasn’t a complete amateur at it. And that was despite this being the first time she got to dance to sweet music with a man.

"It’s getting late," Dani weakly muttered. "We should go back now."

"Alright," Abel nodded, and right then and there, she felt herself floating as he transformed into mist.

"Wait, we haven’t bid everyone goodbye yet!" she scolded him while she was already inside his sphere.

"Don’t worry, I’ll tell that to everyone later," Abel chuckled. "They’ll understand that we can’t stay for long. We have our wedding tomorrow, after all, and my bride needs her beauty rest."

Dani no longer bothered to comment. She was too tired and weak because of Abel’s presence anyway.

It didn’t take long before Abel brought her directly to her bedchamber. "We’re here," he whispered, and before she could gather her bearings, she felt Abel’s lips on her forehead as he whispered, "Have a good night’s sleep, Dani."

In a blink, Abel then disappeared before her, leaving her stunned as she blinked at the spot where he once stood. Who would even easily fall for this man? He was an amateur seducer!

At Wright Manor, Kingdom of Ebodia

The much-awaited wedding of the Duke of Avani’s only daughter, Dani Wright with the Chancellor of Valcrez Kingdom, Abel Ivanov finally came.

Abel stood straight by his post on the stage of the chapel where the groom had to wait for his bride’s entrance. The chapel was filled with fresh flowers, and the decorations were all lavish and beautiful around him.

Taking in a deep breath, he quietly let it out as he feverishly looked at the door. It wasn’t his first wedding, but Ebodian wedding ceremonies had a different custom to them. As such, it was technically his first time experiencing quite a glamorous church wedding like this. Dani’s mother had personally handled everything as well, and she put a lot of effort into making their only daughter’s wedding memorable.

’Why am I feeling nervous right now?’

Abel thought to himself as he patiently waited for Dani’s entrance. His eyes quickly surveying their esteemed guests, he noted how their King and Queen were currently together with Dani’s friends along with the people who had been close to him like a family. The Queen Mother, Fritz, and a few more from their Ivanov Clan who had been great companions for him since he became a vampire were also there.

He then gulped when his eyes darted toward Dani’s brother, Atlas. He was currently sitting beside Princess Ezme, the latter giving him a wink as she sat by. Meanwhile, Atlas had a serious and stern expression on his face as he stared at him. Ignoring it, Abel simply gave him a cut nod.

Thankfully, before things could get more awkward, live music suddenly started playing as the door opened with the announcement of Dani’s entrance.

"Let’s all welcome our bride, Lady Dani Wright, walking alongside her father, Duke George."

Abel gulped the moment he turned his gaze in Dani’s direction. She was now marching towards the altar... towards him, and he unknowingly smiled as he felt his heart swell with mixed emotions. Who would have thought that he would get married again after more than two centuries? It had been two hundred and sixty-seven years since his last marriage if his calculations were right, and now there he was again staring at marriage in the face.

Well, one thing was for sure, he was glad and grateful for this union. Dani was the kind of woman he could picture himself getting tied to, and it was amazing how great she looked for him right now.

"You look amazing, Dani," Abel greeted her as soon as her father handed her away to him. "It would be an honor to have you as my wife," he added with a cheeky smile. He loved how she was naturally blushing right now with his simple words.

"It would be an honor to have you as my husband as well, Abel," she greeted back, smirking. "Assuming you don’t back down now."

"Are you kidding? I’m happy with this arrangement," he scoffed. "Now, let’s get married."

Backing down on his marriage with Dani never crossed his mind and was not an option either. Dani smiled sweetly at him and Abel thought about how nice it would be to witness her genuine smile like that as often.

The ceremony started with a priest as their officiant. Things went smoothly from there, and they followed the tradition of exchanging their standard vows before being followed by King Stephan proceeding with the rest of the wedding.

"In the name of Almighty, I, Abel, take you, Dani, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death," Abel solemnly spoke. "This is my solemn vow."

Then, they exchanged wedding rings that he chose for himself. Meanwhile, Dani stared at him blankly as the priest announced their inevitable kiss.

"Are you alright?" he asked. "You look distracted."

"Distracted by how handsome you are? Don’t make me laugh at my own wedding." Dani suddenly answered, leaving his mouth agape for a second. It was the first time he heard her make a wonderful joke directed at him.

"Well, it would be on brand for our situation," he chuckled. "Now, where were we?"

With a smile, he closed the remaining gap between them, pulling Dani securely close to him. He then slowly leaned to kiss her, and he smiled upon seeing how she submissively closed her eyes for him.

By the time the kiss was finished and they looked each other in the eye, Abel gave her his sweetest smile of contentment. The chapel was filled with cheers and congratulatory greetings as Abel and Dani faced everyone. He grabbed her hand as he turned to her with a wide smile, and he was glad at how she interlocked her fingers with his as they walked out of the chapel together as newlyweds, as official husband and wife.

It was a day of celebration as they then proceeded to the reception at the Wright’s Manor where all their guests could have a feast for the joyous occasions. A grandly decorated carriage was waiting to take them there, and Dani couldn’t help herself as she looked at the ring Abel put on her finger a while ago. It had a sparkling circular ruby at the center with small diamonds around it, making it shine despite there not being that much light.

"I thought that wedding ring would suit you best since you’re a fiery woman," Abel commented.

"It’s beautiful, but how did you manage to get my size?" Dani inquired.

Abel chuckled, "I sneaked into your room while you were sleeping one week ago and checked the size of your finger."

"You could have just asked me, you know," she snorted.

"Perhaps, but where’s the fun in that?" Abel replied with a smile. "I guess I was just finding excuses to check on you in your sleep."

"That’s creepy," Dani mumbled with a frown.

"I’m your husband now, he chuckled back. "I believe it won’t be considered creepy anymore since we’ll be sharing the same bed now, my wife..."
