The Crown's Seduction -
Chapter 285: You Owe Me
Chapter 285: You Owe Me
The wedding went off without a hitch, but the night was far from over as Dani dreaded the ensuing night that she would have to spend with Abel. Not that she was actually dreading it, of course. She just wasn’t sure what was going to happen next now that they were married. She sure as hell didn’t just want to sleep with him that easily knowing that he probably didn’t even have any sort of emotional attachment to her just yet. And the same could be said for her... Then again, she did have some sort of emotions for the man despite everything. And she...
Ugh... Why did things have to be so hard?
"Are you alright?"
Dani perked up as she heard Zaila approaching her. They were currently at the afterparty reception part of her wedding. While she was supposed to be with Abel during these times, she really didn’t feel like being awkward around him at the moment, so she excused herself for a bit to try and regain her courage and sense, feigning having to go to the bathroom to see if it would help...
Only, it never happened. Instead, she was nursing a headache as all of the thinking she had done even before the wedding happened became too much for her poor brain.
"I’m fine," Dani reassured her friend as she waved her hand. "Just nursing a headache, is all."
"Maybe a drink would help," Zaila advised her. "Or maybe I can just heal you. This night will be the night that you and Abel will-"
"Don’t worry, I’ll handle myself fine," Dani shook her head at her friend. "I’m sure that a glass of water will help with this."
"If you say so," Zaila shrugged. "Just remember everything we talked about... all the stuff."
Dani blushed even as she nodded, watching as her friend left to mingle with the other guests. They had indeed talked about all of the intimate things that married couples did after they got married.
Hell, most of the things they knew came from when they did research for their Queen when she had her own problems with intimacy. And while she was sure that she’d have to do it eventually, she really didn’t want to do it with Abel. At least, not while they still weren’t sure what they even were as a couple.
Left with no other choice, Dani went back to the table she shared with her new husband, but not before swiping a glass of wine from a nearby servant and downing it all in one sip. If she had to do things, she was going to need more courage than she had on her own.
"Oh, my dear husband!" she cheerfully greeted as she sat beside her admittedly handsome husband. "How’s the party going?"
"Even better now that you’re here by my side," Abel cheekily replied. "After all, having someone as beautiful as you beside me always makes life more worthwhile."
"Is that so?" Dani chuckled as she down yet another glass of wine. "Care to explain why?"
"One, you’re beautiful. Two, you’re witty, and three, you’re just amazing company," Abel enumerated with seemingly practiced precision. "Would you like to hear more?"
Dani eagerly nodded as she grabbed yet another glass of wine, downing it in one go before smiling warmly at her husband. She supposed this was how she had to do things for tonight now. She needed courage, after all, and what better source of courage than the one that conveniently came from the bottle?

Abel sighed as he laid Dani down on their bed. It would seem that yet again, Dani got herself drunk. Like last time, she ended up being so clingy with him that she almost jumped him right in the middle of their reception. And like last time, she threw up just before she leaned in to kiss him.
Understandably, that meant that he had to whisk her away to their bedchamber to spare her the embarrassment.
"You’re such a handful," he chuckled to himself as he stared at her unmoving form. "Why do you always get yourself drunk whenever you get nervous?"
It was something he picked up on somewhere along the way. Dani had a tendency to drink whenever it was available despite her own vows not to do so again. And of course, she passed out cold just before he lost control of himself. Thankfully, it snapped him back to his senses, but at the same time, he really felt his self-control slipping with how much he wanted to have her.
With the way her wedding dress was practically falling off her shoulder as she slept, he was almost tempted to just take her right then and there. She was just so beautiful, and the way she interacted with him was just a breath of fresh air compared to all the other women that just sucked up to him because of his power.
"The things I do for you..."
Shrugging, Abel went ahead and took some of the nearby towels he saw laying around. He then began to wipe her clean, making sure to get as much of the mess she made for herself off of her while also making sure to preserve her modesty.
"Just like last time, huh..."
He chuckled at the memory again. The last time this happened was actually the first time they slept together. She was just as drunk as before, and he never hesitated to let a female servant clean her for him.
This time was different, however. This time, he had a right to do this to his own wife.
Slipping away her gown, Abel took a deep breath as he did his best to ignore any and all impulses within him to take her as she was. Instead, he focused on the task at hand, wiping away her mess before promptly getting her dressed in something more fitting for sleep.
By the time he was done, he almost groaned at how badly his loins ached.
"You owe me big time, Dani..."
Abel chuckled to himself as he sat by the foot of the bed, leaning on it as he savored the peace in their chamber. They had all the time in the world anyway.
